Put you egg next to a macargo with the ability "flame body or magma armor" at the top of your team and run around. There, I just saved you all 5 minutes of rambling.
If you have a Pokémon with the trace ability you can tell the ability of the opposing Pokémon, making it so you can tell which Pokémon has the correct ability

Magby can be caught in the underground in the volcanic caverns, if you enter the underground beside the breeder it puts you beside a volcanic. If you have the min badges, you're looking at a 5% chance to catch with a dusk ball at night (around 3% with a poke ball) Should be able to nab it with 50 pokeballs or 20-30 dusk ball attempts

Magby in shining pearl have flame body, that you can use, you can catch them in the Sinnoh underground before national dex all other times you need to have pokeradar to catch hidden ability pokemon which is only post game

Someone mentioned apparently wild Pokemon can't have it (not 100% sure if true) but based on you being on your 50th I'm willing to bet that is. In that case, look for Pokemon in the Underground instead if you can.
I learned the best way to help this pokemon evolve was by giving it a soothe bell. And I didn't figure this out until I saw a thumbnail. Oh God I'm such an idiot... Is there another place where I can get a soothe bell? Because I sold it. Or is there another way?
Which is faster going up and down, and diagonal through flower patches to hatch eggs or going in circles and is there a way to AFK circles in this game like in sword and shield?
February 2,2022 time - 6;38am i just took 6 Eevee eggs from the day care guy then i forgot about Leafeon & glaceon i'm underground at Typhlo cave these pokemon Eevee - just hatched - Female Macargo - caught it at 5;30am in Volcanic cave slugama - caught it in Volcanic cave 2nd Eevee egg just hatched at 6;30am -Male does Blaze work as well for hatching??? i'll hatch my other eggs later.

You can only obtain the hidden ability with the pokeradar, you cant find wild mons with HA besides that method. Once you have a HA you can breed it down in daycare center

Make sure the genders are different and that the species of Pokémon match. Additionally some Pokémon such as legendaries or mythicals can’t have eggs. You can check the species of Pokémon by looking it up online.
@@sourdiesel8344 Actually it does, since the point of breeding is to pass on moves and abilities. Which is why I added, a ditto will only help someone who has obtained all the necessary prerequisites i just mentioned, otherwise your making a fodder pokemon.
Wild Pokemon cannot have their hidden ability, so you're not going to find a Ponyta with Flame Body no matter how long you run around in the grass. You need to use the Poke Radar, then find a patch with bigger grass flying out of it, which means the Pokemon inside has a hidden ability. So Ponyta is fine, but you'll need to hit the post game to get the Poke Radar and hunt for one with Flame Body.
Other way is to grind BP at the Battle Tower and get an Ability Patch (200 BP), then use it on Ponyta to switch to its hidden ability, but yeah considering how tough it is to grind BP that seems like a major waste.
@@timdelaney366 For Slugma, it isn't. Slugma can either have Flame Body or Magma Armor. Its hidden ability is Weak Armor. Ponyta's normal abilities are Flash Fire or Run Away.

The egg doesn't have to be next to the pokemon with flame body or magma armor. It just needs to be in the party

Instead of flying to the fight area, there is a volcanic cave right under Solaceon Town where you can catch Slugma and Magcargo :)

You can also get the riolu egg in the iron island cave
you could actually just spin around for like 5 mins with the faster bike setting and boom egg hatch

Caught a slugma flame body on my first time and a magcargo with magma Armor on like my 5th
