Octopus is one of the most intelligent marine animals, it is so heartbreaking to see them being slaughtered or eaten while alive in so many Korean shows…. I know it’s unavoidable to eat seafood but pls kill these animals in a humane way, and for gigantic octopus like this, can’t the people just respect their living right?

I get your point but many animals eat their prey in the same way, this it's just the cycle of life. And I'm sorry but it's not different from us eating meat in general, those animales still died. And the fresh seafood is the best, that's why most countries in Asia do it, it's also something known thay they eat more healthy.

It’s disgusting how animal cruelty is so normalised there and it’s normal for them to taunt and kill something so easily, it’s like you taking a cow home and killing it yourself and feeling no empathy… it’s not normal they’re so desensitised of animal abuse. Octopuses are incredibly smart and every animal has nerve senses so feels pain and Korea just gladly puts them through so much pain for “entertainment”. Like it’s not necessary for their restaurants to serve live octopus, what person would want to eat something live, not like it would taste any different it’s just sick!

That’s not the issue people had with the octopus. The main issue was the fact that an animal on a comparable level of intelligence and nerves as a human kid was essentially tortured, and played with for the sake of “entertainment” when that didn’t have to be the case at all. You don’t see variety shows bringing cows and pigs on tv live to crack jokes about, and then butcher to go eat in that same episode. Salmon, crab, other fish don’t compare cuz their brain capacity/nerve receptors are barely non existent, and again no one’s bringing them on tv in a live state and then killing them for views
