I definitely want this! Question, how much does the quality of your amp matter when using the pedal? I don’t have anything special, it’s a simple practice amp but I want to experiment with sounds and pedals.
How does this compare to other source audio pedals, as in are there things that pedals like the C4 and the Aftershock can do that this can't replicate? Do you think that it's worthwhile to purchase pedals like the ones previously mentioned in addition to the Ultrawave? I suppose that another way of phrasing this question would be, "Do you see yourself not using some of your other pedals because of the Ultrawave?"
omg Niko, one of my best friends/my bandmate's face is in one of your videos! He gave me a beta version of the UW, and I've been waiting to see what presets you come up with
Just picked one up through your link (I went with the Blue version just because of the color lol)! I’m so excited and your demo was a major deciding factoring in getting it now vs later haha.
Source Audio pedals are great sounding but I really wish there were better ways to change patches with your feet. Holding the footswitch is not quick or accurate enough. Inbuilt patch up and patch down footswitches would be so much better but I had to buy a DMC micro just to change patches on my C4.
I gave in and went with Hub and a midi mouse controller. I know it’s additional expense but I can change patches on all of my SA pedals at once with the hub. MidiMouse has a standby setting so I can queue up the patch change and switch in a blink. Works well. Just food for thought.
This isn't really a Source Audio exclusive problem however. When you're dealing with single footswitch button pedals it's pretty standard to expect the use of a midi controller. Heck, even with 2 button pedals. In reality, you need a pedal with 3 buttons on it to effectively bank up and down for presets... but then, you have a massive pedal.
Awesome demo, Nate. This pedal sounds killer and has a lot of great sounds. I personally like the dual comp, classic overdrive, royal flood, and electron. I own a source audio aftershock bass distortion pedal and it sounds killer. I am currently thinking about getting the Gemini chorus next.
Update: I’ve purchased a source audio Gemini chorus a while back and it sounds incredible. I can get super lush tones and they sounds phenomenal clean and distorted. It’s a definite keeper 😎🤘🏻🎸
The c4 sounds awesome. I’ve checked out Nate’s clip on the pedal and it sounds phenomenal. I’ve noticed on a certain setting, you can get a sega genesis type of synth. Anywho, I might consider getting one if I ever needed a new synth pedal.
Looks like a lot of crossover functionality shared with the C4. I'd love to see a compare/contrast video of them. Edit: Actually, it seems more like a cross between the Aftershock and the C4. Thoughts?
Less drive on the lower frequencies, THAT IS KEY! Nate is like the Elon Musk of Bass Tech. Furthermore this pedal, if I'm understanding, is almost every pedal ever made IF you have the time, patience and intelligence to make the sound from scratch.
Hey Nate! Great video. Just got mine, but I wish it was mentioned that you have to go direct to your laptop to use the neuro desktop editor. I now have 5 pedals on the hub and editing is easy, but to edit this one I need more cables and routing on my board. I think its an important issue and should be addressed when showing the editor. Still an awesome pedal though.
Thanks Nathan, Just got my UltraWave Bass based on your review and sponsorship. Admittedly still learning, but one thing I am just not seeing is, how do you adjust where channels 1 and 2 sit in the stereo mix. Can you pan Channel 1 hard left and Channel 2 hard right?
I come to see if the pedal is worth getting and I can’t tell because the plying is so damn flawless it’s hard to tell if the pedal sounds good or if it’s just Nate.
Yes, get both! C4 has some foldback and distortion types, but they are very different beasts and cover different ground. C4 can't do multiband processing, morphing, ring mod, or compression / expansion, and Ultrawave can't do synthesis and envelope filtering. Ultrawave also has way more distortion types. They play well together!
Will this pedal or the C-4 - give me more authentic: Moog-like synth-Bass sounds? or, is it better to use a Fuzz/Octave combo, for the Moog bass ??? Any input is appreciated.
Congrats, Nate. This pedal is amazing! I was going to pick up a C4 synth, but the Ultrawave seems like it covers many of the C4's capabilities plus what my Aftershock can do. Nate, can you expand a little on how the Ultrawave differs from the C4?
For sure! The C4 is more so dedicated to synth sounds, with a traditional approach utilizing pitch tracking, free-running oscillators, harmonizers, etc. The Ultrawave doesn't use any of these, but can still get into synth territory through foldover distortion, multiband tremolo, and morphing. The Ultrawave's compressor module could have been a pedal on its own, it's that great, and it has plenty of traditional and contemporary sounding distortions, as well as clean-tone shaping tools not present on the C4.
Hello~! I am a listener living in Korea. I have a favor to ask. Popular song in Korea these days Brave Girls - Rollin I cover the rolled base? I really want to hear it.
WTF ... this thing is totally insane. It looks, like it could kick a dozen pedals from my board. I have to ask: What does it NOT do? Except from making coffee?

I can't find it on Thomann is it up on their site yet?
@@JSA501stNormandy Sorry about that, looks like it should be up in a couple days or so.
@@rhyme4rhythm I'd say the quality of your amp won't matter any more/less than when playing clean. :)

I'm not sure why this product demo turned into a compression tutorial, but it's helpful so I won't complain!
This is amazing for the compressor alone. Will order ASAP. Thank you. Cheers
Welcome to the next generation of effects devices. Is being ordered!
Nate being Nate plus some cool new gear from SA = Gold

Hi! Is there a possibility to add these presets to C4?
yes
does this pedal like active pickups?
I'd love to hear what this can do with an expression pedal

Hi! Its really cool, but does it really different to C4? Or it is equal?
Would it be able to make a Royal Blood kinda sounding tone?
There is a preset called Royal Flood in it and i think it comes quite close.
