Haha love it! you mention the conversations are "mundane and normal" IMO that's the point. He was really fleshing out these characters for us. Most movies just show the action, spouting one liners etc. but he wrote this thinking "well in their downtime, what do they talk about?" He did the exact same in Reservoir Dogs, changed movies forever.
Your question as to couldn't Butch have taken the watch himself where exactly would he have kept it while he was fighting in the ring and jumping into the garbage dumpster and don't say up his.... lol
If you're a fan of the 'mafia' genre, try "A Bronx Tale'" with Robert DeNiro... It's a relatively unknown jewel of a movie. The soundtrack/score (like this movie) is insanely good too.
i love this flim's dialouge, too...Christopher Walken giving young Butch the watch, great. Vince and Jules's banter..great. Even Marsellis, with his cool, "If he go over to china to hide, I want some Mo-fo waitin in a bowl a rice to cap his azz". Razor shrap wrting and cool music to top it all off.
I mean, he had to go either fight a guy or get knocked out by a guy, she SAID she would pack his watch, she didn't. He was a bit too mad, but had every right to be mad. Imagine it was a wedding ring that was passed down in your family. Great vid!
Saw this in theaters multiple times. Martin Landaus' performance as Bela Lugosi in Ed Wood that same year is probably the only supporting actor performance EVER capable of winning over Samuel L Jackson as Jules. It was just incredibly bad timing. Ed Wood is amazing by the way.
tarantino and roger Avary accepted the Oscar for this movie. Tarantino likes to leave him out of taking credit. Tarantino insisted he get a written and directed credit, while Avary is remanded to stories by credit, when in fact they both worked on the screenplay equally.
I'm glad you mentioned the stiff competition Pulp Fiction suffered from at the Oscars. Quentin even mentioned this at the MTV awards, how he was so pleased to finally win best picture after losing in all the other award shows to Forest Gump & Shawshank Redemption.
Terrantino probably would have made Uma do a retake when she drew a rectangle instead of a square, but he probably didn't want to seem so obtuse. 🤣😂🙂😐🤔 I'll see myself out...
You notice in the final scene, when the girl was freaking out, she was pointing at both Travolta and Jackson with both hands, even though she only had one gun? I guess they left that in there, to show just how wired and scared she was at the time. I thought it was a little amusing. and based on the timeline, I believe it covered a 36 hour time period and not just 24 hours based on the time of day of each scene. Not exactly Memento, but a fun film.
The number of people who don't know what a gimp is! But of course "we" all learned it from this movie, except we did so when we first saw it, in the 90s.
In pretty much every other movie dialogue drives the plot. For instance in The Godfather in the initial scene you learn so much information you'll need for the rest of the movie In Pulp Fiction the dialogue had virtually nothing to do with driving the plot of the movie How could it the movie is out of order there is no real plot to drive until the end of the movie when you figure out the plot. That is the genius of Tarantino. A movie when dialogue is only there to be interesting dialogue Kind of like real life right
7:11 That "Marilyn Monroe" looks much like Marilyn Monroe :) 9:02 Good thing that he had a lawn there 14:16 Wtf...!? :D 18:13-18:36 I like that reaction part :) 20:34 Should we be concerned about you knowing that...? ;) 22:33 It is just money, there's like a glow like in that seen with Butch 4:53
The case is holding...a yellow light bulb. It doesn't matter what's in the case. The case is a McGuffin, and Tarentino is apparently too cool to bother explaining it, because of course he is.
Not much of a plot but what's there and how it's paced and flows makes up for it. The briefcase as a McGuffin was great but typical. Acting and writing, along with direction, is top notch.
I strongly recommend True Romance. It’s the delight of Tarantino’s writing, especially his dialogues, but with and I’ll take some flack for saying this, a better director.
I was number 666 in the thumbs up. Apropos. The thing about this movie is that it builds very obviously in one direction and then takes a sharp left turn, over and over. Deus ex machina, almost. God(in this case, Tarantino)intervenes
That's the bummer covering content like this you will get nailed by copyright especially when your channel grows. You got some really good views out of this already though nice work
Please consider Reacting to the Original Badass of Film Charles Bronson (he has a vast filmography) I'd suggest The Magnificent Seven (1960) The Mechanic (1972) Mr. Majestyk (1974) Breakheart Pass (1975) Murphy's Law (1986) The " Death Wish " series of films (1974-1994) To name a few ~Thanks greetings from Gotham aka NYC
Please do more of Quentin Tarantino's movie's,Reservoir Dog's, Jackie Brown,Kill Bill vol 1 & 2, Django Unchained & The Hateful Eight, you will definitely love those great movies sweetheart
I don’t know if you know this, but Quentin Tarantino has a severe foot fetish you’ll see that this movie with all the talk about foot massages, and Uma Thurman walking around barefoot
You want to collect greatest directors on your channel? Allow me to introduce you to Peter Weir, by suggesting "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World" (2003).
It's indeed pretty hard to call oneself a movie lover when you're more than twenty and have only watched ONE Tarantino movie. At least, now you're watched two! Your editing is kind of a massacre, but your reaction was cool. PS: "And you will know my name is the law!!!!" XD Love it.
The movie is full of iconic scenes and references to older movies. So it is fun to watch just to identify them all. As to what it is really saying It is very hard to figure out given all the jumping around to different scenes all out of chronological order. But I have come to realize over the years that when you put every scene into the correct chronological it appears to be a weird morality play put together as only someone with Tarantino's warped mind could do. The main protagonists are Vincent (who has no appreciation for or sensitivity to the otherworldly) and Jules (who is the exact opposite). So it starts with a miracle that Jules sees correctly as a call to repent and reform his life. Vincent of course ignores it, but he is given three chances to rethink that position. And these three chances are delivered by three different angelic figures. The first chance comes from Harvey Kietel (the Cleaner) who gets Vincent out of his first jam. But Vincent as per his personna does not give him the respect that he is due. The next chance comes from the now reformed Jules who basically saves Vincent's life in the diner. And the third chance comes from Lance, his drug dealer, who saves him from almost certain death from Marsellus, if Mia dies. And in case you didn't catch whom Tarantino is telling us Lance is supposed to represent, he's got him looking exactly like Jesus (right down to the sandals) when he brings Mia back to life. The other sign that vincent keeps seeing but ignoring has to do with the restroom. Everytime Vincent goes to the bathroom his life is threatened. It happens first when he comes out and steps right into the diner robbery, but is saved by Jules. The second time he goes to the loo Mia overdoses on the drug he left in his coat pocket. And again that time he is saved by Lance. But Vincent being so nebulous he learns nothing from these close calls so the third time he relieves himself is his last time because on that occasion he isn't saved by some angel of light. He runs instead into Butch (whom Tarantino seems to have scripted to be his angel of death). We start to see this from Butch's complete lack of emotion or feelings of guilt when he learns he actually killed the man he just fought in the ring. And later in the basement of the army/navy shop it becomes abundantly clear when Butch opts to take everyone out with a samarai sword. But he spares Marsellus simply because the death he doles out is entirely motivated by his elevated sense of right and wrong (the mark of every such angel). Anyway that is my take on it. And I have no idea whether Tarantino has ever said anything that confirms I got it right.
An important PSA: This movie makes people think that shooting up heroin with a needle is safer than snorting it. Please don’t do heroin, but if you must, snorting it is safer.
Please watch "Pride". It's about the day and lesbian groups in Britain that surprised everyone by the support for the life and death struggle of the British coal miners in the 1980s against the British government.
Haha love it! you mention the conversations are "mundane and normal" IMO that's the point. He was really fleshing out these characters for us. I always laugh a little when he shoot’s the guy on the couch.. The line he said after that is just priceless
I'm sorry. Did I break your concentration?
04:36 Hearing Samuel L Jackson's monologue sound like Alvin the Chipmunk made my soul cry tears of elation.
Your question as to couldn't Butch have taken the watch himself where exactly would he have kept it while he was fighting in the ring and jumping into the garbage dumpster and don't say up his.... lol

Good choice, Bronx is a classic in my family!
great movie!
I watch tons of reactors! You’re my new favorite! Fantastic job! 🙂💯
You should watch True Romance 1993. It's written by Tarantino and directed by Tony Scott. It has one of the best casts ever
An awesome perfection backed by dialogued acting. The best role for Gary Oldman.
Oldman totally man with a thousand faces his role in that film
i love this flim's dialouge, too...Christopher Walken giving young Butch the watch, great. Vince and Jules's banter..great. Even Marsellis, with his cool, "If he go over to china to hide, I want some Mo-fo waitin in a bowl a rice to cap his azz". Razor shrap wrting and cool music to top it all off.
They STOLE the trophy, they're are talking about it in the radio.

Another example is the fact that Marsalis is there with Vincent at Butchs house instead of Jules cause he retired.
I just finished watching this movie, Also love seeing your reactions to this great classic movie

Thank you for reviewing this movie, lovely! Your analysis was spot on and it's my all time favorite film.
These are the comments that make me understand why female TH-camrs are afraid of their fans
I'm glad you mentioned the stiff competition Pulp Fiction suffered from at the Oscars. Quentin even mentioned this at the MTV awards, how he was so pleased to finally win best picture after losing in all the other award shows to Forest Gump & Shawshank Redemption.
The Hateful Eight (2015) by Quentin Tarantino
Samuel L. Jackson is super cool in this movie 😊👍🏻🇩🇰
Ed Wood is definitely worth a watch.
Sorry u always get copyright problems Shelby.. love your reactions and beauty, have a great day :)
Thank you! And I know I’ve been having a hell of a time recently with TH-cam and copyright claims it’s been very frustrating 😞
@@shelbynnave it happens to everyone! But don't give up I hope see more of you in the future!
@@shelbynnave must be very frustrating, all the work.you put in to it and it gets blocked or whatever.. feel 4 yah

I can't wait for "A Bronx Tale" to run down your list, sooner or later with all the mafia films on this channel this one is bound to get a turn.😁

3:42 "Is this what hit men talk about?" Never seen it?... my what a good guess.
As you delve into the world of Tarantino you'll see four common threads - over the top violence, detailed dialogue, long uncut shots and women's feet.
Legendary movie. Cast was on point in this
Tarantino's best movie, easily. Great reaction!
You’re right about Kill Bill, recommend you add it to your list
The number of people who don't know what a gimp is! But of course "we" all learned it from this movie, except we did so when we first saw it, in the 90s.
The Bonnie situation is the best
I had a cat named Flint. Wasn't quite as... hefty.

You should start checking out Paul Thomas Anderson movies. I suggest starting with Magnolia.
Enjoy your reactions and analysis. If you ever have a Patreon and post full movie reactions? I’ll be all over that!
Great picks.

A lot cut down: I note 'Royale with Cheese' and 'Ketchup' were cut out of the diet.
I strongly recommend True Romance. It’s the delight of Tarantino’s writing, especially his dialogues, but with and I’ll take some flack for saying this, a better director.
Pulp fiction didn't win any awards until the MTV VMA Quinton Tarantino mentions this in his acceptance speech forest gump won everything this year
If you allow the REAL versions and not CENSORED versions... you will get SOOO many more followers:)

Yes!
I would suggest the Movie " The Family " with Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Nobody writes dialogue like Tarantino! Welcome to the Tarantino universe.

The Magnificent Seven (1960)
The Mechanic (1972)
Mr. Majestyk (1974)
Breakheart Pass (1975)
Murphy's Law (1986)
The " Death Wish " series of films (1974-1994)

Check out Four Rooms. It's sooooo good. You'll love it.
You could add Clint Eastwood and Mel Brooks to your list of directors...
Sergio leone
One word - Reservoir Dogs.
if Hules didnt retired he would have been in Dutch apartament when Vincent was in the bathroom, and Butch would have probably died instead of Vincent
shelby is so naive .. 8)
I don’t know if you know this, but Quentin Tarantino has a severe foot fetish you’ll see that this movie with all the talk about foot massages, and Uma Thurman walking around barefoot
Butch shot Travolta because Travolta had previously insulted him making it personal.
Bruce Willis will miss as far actor love him as a human
In case you were wondering 🤔, snorting heroine, bad idea. So you know 😏.
