I noticed Goku accepting help happened in the Broly movie. It was the first time he was like "yeah, gonna need some help," and Vegeta just jumped in, no bluster, no mockery.
Just the two of them being a unit.
It was glorious.
Seeing it happening more and more, perhaps Goku and Vegeta are actually becoming real friends.
After all this time, they've gotta care about each other.
Goku and Vegeta both getting past the Saiyan pride thing is a wonderful character arc for both of them.
Goku knows the difference between fighting for sport and fighting to protect. And Gomah wasn't there to exchange friendly fisticuffs.
You know it's serious when Goku is like "Let's jump this guy".
Honestly, my biggest problem with Daima is the 20 minute episodes. Whenever I feel like it's just getting going, the episode ends.
tbh when daima/any show is good i feel thats a good thing. gives us something to talk about, the episode itself has justfied itself AND gets us interested in actually coming back next week. these series specifcally stem from comics so of course they end with a comic book cliffhanger
You can tell exactly when the episode is about to end because something exciting happens

Gohan has been far surpassed at this point. This show is going by the anime canon, and Goku was able to fight off the copy of ultimate Gohan inside Super Buu without going higher than Super Saiyan

Neva could've powered up Tamagami One, but to be fair, SSJ3 is a stamina draining form. I would not be shocked if SSJ3 Goku get's like 5/6 minutes of screen time and ends up losing cause of the drain on his body.
Bulma seriously needs to just make herself a jetpack already.

Yes, Gomah made me think of a certain final boss character in the game "Dragonquest Journey of the Cursed King" called "Lord Rhapthorne." who has a small, rotund form but then blimps up into a large demonic and fat powerful monster.
But we also mix in more clown like elements from Dhoulmagus the evil jester from the same game along with pride trooper like, sandex suit and similarities with Emperor Pilaf from Dragonball who is normally comedic relief but then can later reveal more menacing aspects to himself.
I love the symbolism of the powerpole strap breaking off and falling to the ground in the last shot
It symbolizes goku letting go of his innocence as he finally letting out all of his anger and rage out to gomah for endangering him and his friends
Cause before he took things lightly and in a fun way out his situation but here he realised this has gone on long enough he's done playing games he is too close and far to lose now
6:38 his surprise that arinzu got the first dragonball seems to indicate glorio may have been lied to or otherwise kept in the dark as well

Glorio did use his powers, when they all launched beam attacks at once against Gomah, you can see him raising his hand powering up.. Episode was very cool, I missed a few stuff when watching the live stream but on a 2nd viewing I did enjoyed it quite a bit, the pacing was better and the action sequences looked awesome
I loved the fights but I really loved how Bulma knew something wasn't right when Goku asked everyone to join the fight.
I have a sneaking suspicion that the demonic third eye is going to come into play in DBS later. Maybe Frieza or someone else will get a hold of it (Black Frieza would actually look really cool with that eye, especially since it'd also give him that height increase he always wanted.)

Like id imagine the next super arc would use stuff like maybe cutting to the new majins doing some tomfolery once a while or arinsu and degesu scheeming and stuf like that

The point at the end is pretty significant. Daima’s a beautifully animated series with a promising premise, but the viewership for this show has honestly been quite abysmal. Even in Japan this seems to be the case, with Daima since episode 13 or so losing out hand-idly to standard programming in its time slot, not even other big shounen titles. It even dropped out of the top shows for a while in the Kanto region. The Dragonball super manga is something Japan also doesn’t have much enthusiasm for, despite it carrying the Dragonball name.
I am floored that Daima has gotten such tepid reception, and the handling of the dubs is a massive factor. There’s hardly any discussion around the series. Dragonball is far from an invincible IP, we saw it go dormant for over a decade after GT’s turbulent lifespan on air. It sucks being a fan of something so internationally massive and renowned, but the powers behind said thing just refuses to make the IP stronger with basic, rudimentary practices that should be the standard.
Because Dragon Ball shits out money just by existing. They don't need to spend much money on it for it to make them a profit.
@ but it can also grow, they’re losing out on so much *more* revenue by letting it atrophy like this instead of directly investing. One Piece is only 1 or 2 billion away from completely overtaking Dragonball’s #1 spot as an IP in terms of overall revenue, as it has received a lot of attention and was allowed to balloon to a size that can rival DB. Toei put the money in and One Piece has more than made up for whatever was put into the IP in terms of revenue made.
Toei isn’t incompetent if OP is their second IP and it’s doing so excellently, they just refuse to allow DB to flourish - even when appealing to its massive international audience would make them infinitely more money. No simuldub in 2025 is actually unheard of, it’s not 2004 anymore lol

Something that I wonder is how weak was Abura if he had the third eye and was (I assume) still unable to beat the Tamagami while Gomah was soloing the strongest Tamagami and the strongest of the Z fighters.
It was stated Dabura couldn't beat the Tamagamis, not Abura. Given Dabura was the only one to not have access to the Third Eye, that tracks.

I also would not at all be surprised if the Tamagami simply refused the duel if you are using the third eye, as it's not your own strength. By the fact Dabura needed to get rid of the eye before fighting Abura, we know that Abura with the eye was stronger than pre-babidi Dabura, which I will assume is still pretty damn close to the Tamagami power
I wish we got to see the Goku vs Duu fight a little longer. I know the episode is called "Gomah," but I liked seeing Goku's experience vs Duu's raw power get tested. You can really see Goku's battle IQ in motion here
As a purveyor of clowns and clown based weaponry my power has become maximumer with the advent of clown Broly, first of his line. Long may he reign.
Im definitely going to binge all if Daima, once the english dub is fully released. It has heen such a joy to watch each week, and is something I legitimately look forward to each Friday
People always forget Shin is roughly SSj2 level, he isn't weak by any stretch
He's about as strong as cell games goku.
@@everettjohnson9374 He's much stronger the Cell Games anything, he literally fought Evil Fat Buu and held his own somewhat, which is more then anyone else could until Majin Vegeta came along.
Shin is far below SSJ2. Remember, Dabura is said to be somehow equal in power to Cell and Shin was scared of him.
@@janmalawski4339 Its stated in a guidebook, those things are the holy bible of this anime. You cant really contradict this one, tho. But yeah Shin is capable of holding his own against normal perfect cell like Goku would, albeit he'd be far worse due to lack of fighting ability. Numbers wise, he's just as strong and thats their point.

I really enjoyed this episode.
Arinsu was consistent as a character unlike Degesu and both fights were amazing, alongside the comedy like Gomah saying "crud" to him destroying his own palace and Majin Cuu handing the Dragon Ball to Arinsu to fight Goku and Neva saying to Tamagami 1 to go fight.
I like that Tamagami 1 got to fight and I hope we see the other two soon and maybe a redemption arc for Degesu and the Gendarmerie Force.
That said, I hope they explain why Neva didn't power up Tamagami 1 like he did with Tamagami 2 and why it seemed like Arinsu and Glorio didn't know each other (I smell some kind of plot twist like Glorio was working for someone else).
Final thing, I really like that this battle is paying homage to the final battle against Jiren, but King Gomah's design is awful, but I love his personality. I wish we got to see his standard power.
I think Dr. Arinsu should thank whatever powers she believes in that she didn't get Super or, worse, Kid Buu's pieces instead of the Good Majin's. Because even with the saibamen seeds, and the input of his original creator, that would have gotten out of control *fast.* I would love to see a What If about that one day.
Also, I see a lot of speculation about Majin Duu and Kuu Fusing, but I wonder if the three Tamagami will also Fuse based on Neva's design, and on his orders. That could be truly a sight. In the meantime, let's see this through, my friends.

We don’t need a back n forth conversation as to why she shouldn’t. Just go and fight cause the stakes are obvious. I hate when shonen anime did this just to pad out an episode when we know they gonna go anyway. Way to go Daima for going against those tropes and giving the audience what they want
I liked this episode a bunch. I love Kuu and Duu a lot as well. The fact they are helping without really needing any convincing is also good
I love the coloring of magic in this series. It's like the Neon filter in photoshop, and compared to most other energy attacks, specifically ki based ones, it looks wholely unique
many good guys vs one bad guy was so refreshing to see

They could have gone with "Hey Goku/Vegeta/Piccolo, go distract Gomah while we summon the dragon to solve this."

9:53 Glorio probably isn't using his magic much because it wouldn't be effective due to the massive power difference between him and Gomah. It'd be like trying to use a fire-type move against a fire-type Pokémon that has the Flash Fire ability. With the Third Eye, Gomah could easily block or deflect Glorio's magic. The gun ain't a better option, but it's better than nothing.
14:30 I mean (some) dragon ball fans have convinced themselves that Dragon Ball won't fail under any circumstance.
They want the anime back but they aren't doing themselves any favors by buying the same type of products (the games) that Toei/shuesha uses to keep the anime on hold for so long
I liked this episode.
Gomah and the Third Eye have become a proper threat and living up to the hype.
Also Goku asking everyone to fight alongside him was pretty cool, was also a nice addition that the Majin siblings also joined and that Neva ordered the Tamagami to fight.
I'm curious if Neva can call the other two and fuse all 3 together.

I would also like to acknowledge that the fight choreography has improved with this Daima and this episode. It reminds me of Deadzone which had great fight choreography but then Z felt like it got lazy with beam struggles and "5 minute" fights and whatnot.
It would be anticlimatic but I think it would be hillarious if the Third Eye just pops out of Gomah's head the moment he gets punched in the stomach and that's how the fight with him ends.
There's a reason why the first demon king didn't wear it 24/7.

When it comes to Glorio, I feel his lightning magic needs a more stable foundation to be cast. We saw with the Gendarmeries that the captain needed to take a stance and build up his fireball. When Glorio used his lightning magic he similarly has to plant himself before launching it. His gun might be to fill the gaps when he needs to be mobile for a fight.
I think "The Awakening" could also mean that episode ends with Beerus waking up.
Gomah in his hulk form just looks like he part of the pride troopers. Maybe he could have been the jester of the group in universe 11.

Broly but clown sounds exactly how I felt about the episode, because it felt similar to broly in that the whole group tried to gang up against a roided out op opponent and getting dominated for a good portion of it.
I see you worried about the series reception. It’s gonna be ok. Daima has longevity. It’s ok if the hype isn’t as high as you’d like. It’s gonna have a long life after the series is complete (and hopefully on blue ray).
So many great moments from this episode! I’m excited for the next one but am sort of glad to have the wait. I don’t want to finish this show too fast. I’m enjoying savoring it.
I think the epilogue of this series will involve Arinsu becoming the queen of the demon world and reluctantly propogating peace throughout the demon world as well as with the outside world because she can't actually put the Z Fighters down, so if she isn't a good ruler Goku will come right back after Panzy or Nahare calls him about it
Thank you. Ever since people were saying oh this isn't going to be the thing we're going to be getting something different because this is an obvious thing and we're not going to get it. People that were saying that do not understand how Toriyama writes. Every time he writes a story People immediately start thinking oh Toriyama would do this so he must automatically be doing this now instead. No he's going to do a Toriyama does and that's why we love him.
Holding out as we still got 3 eps left, but the plot line i thought would have been resolved by now like you mentioned is Glorio and his motivations. And at the beginning of daima glorio was introduced as a mysterious intriuging character. And now that we are in the final act, he is still mysterious but the intrigue at this point of the story is gone. Im sure they will explain his motivations, but as of now he so clearly is part of the dragon team that him being outted as had working for arinsu seems irrelevant

We're getting SSJ4. The wish on the dragonballs will do something to erase their memories, but I think vegeta finds the bag and grabs fusion bug.
I expect that the fusion bug will be split 8, maybe more ways, and everyone fighting Gohma will fuse as the 'awakening'

I feel like the whole Glorio sub-plot has been kind of forgotten about. Why did Arinsu need someone to convince the Dragon Team to defeat the Tamagami, when she was also working to create a Majin strong enough to do so anyway?
I am kinda keen to see this series being used for HFIL episodes. I feel like the Pride Trooper colors have to mean something, even if it is just Akira Toriyama having fun with the similarities.
I actually prefer that Goku by observing how Gomah handling Vegeta. Realize that there is no place to f around and find out. I think I enjoyed it more than TOP version that he need to have multiple beatings from Jiren to finally accept helps. It also kinda make Buu Saga ending mean something that is Goku realize that everyone need to work together to defeat the enemy instead of focusing on singular person like Gohan and Gotenks.

Actually, we did see Gloria use his magic in the big glorious, revolving shot result everyone powering and charging their attacks. Inglourious’s offhand we see that the red and black magic charging.
What if the next episode "Awakening" is not Goku, but in-fact Gomah! Reaching yet another power level!?
I like what they did, but I would have enjoyed it so much more if it was Arinsu instead of Gomah using the third eye.
Yes we would waste the whole Gomah setting, but we would in turn get a character that is much nicer on the eye, is a very rare in Dragon Ball female final boss, and most importantly we would finally get to see a Glind fight a serious all out battle showcasing their powers and abilities

Its okay, Regardless of what people perception of Daima, it already fulfilled what Akira Sensei wanted, To Show the world a silly adventure filled with Joy and wonder. IT may not be the time were it gets the hype, but It truly is his last masterpiece. RIP
I honestly was bored out of my mind the whole time until pretty much the end. The goku fight at the beginning was so slow and unimpactful, and Gomah was very boring. Just isnt engaging enough, trust me this isnt winning over people who dont like it if people like me who DO like it can still not enjoy the episode. It kinda sucked dude.

if I were to recommend a new person watch either Dragon Ball Super or Daima to be introduced to the series, I'd say Daima any day of the week because of how much more digestible it is and how much clearer of an image it gives of Dragon Ball as a whole (Super still is DB, don't get me wrong, it's just a lot more of the action-side and that's perfectly ok as it's still core to what DB is, but Daima has more of the adventures, charming silly guys, and presentation of stakes in regards to this latest episode. I couldn't care less about the ToP's over-the-top multiverse ending risks, whereas this adventure to just save Dende and return to their adult bodies sets a much easier scope to understand/relate to. Yea, the multiverse ending is more grand, but I don't know/feel anything for any of those universes outside of maybe Universe 6. It's too large of a scale to emotionally connect to when you don't care about these newly introduced randoms). Anyways I'd still recommend they watch every DB show eventually, but Daima is as good of an introduction as I think you can get for a modern audience

I'm hoping for some twist where they end up fighting Arinsu at the end. Gomah is defeated and rants about how he knew they were a threat from the beginning so that's why he turned them into kids. Piccolo or Vegeta points out that they didn't even know who he was until Glorio told them, and only tagged along because of Gomah's wish in the first place. Then Arinsu summons the dragon...
honestly if something happens that causes gomah to be defeated by the heroes then im pretty sure arinsus plan will fail anyways cause the others would be considered too powerful to deal with
hes not really broly i dont see that. hes more like jiren and babidi fused. and he keeps his original form personality which i think is awesome.
