I am a minimalist. I always have a book to read and do so every evening. I never buy books. I get each book I read from the library. If you want a certain book and your library doesn't have it, you can do an inter-library loan. This is where you request a book your library doesn't have and they will have it loaned to them from a completely different library system. The only caveat is that the book must be at least 12 months old.
i did my first "no buy" for books challenge last year & succeeded! my local library, my personal library (of unread books, lol), buy nothing groups or little free libraries i see around have helped curbed the urge for buying books :)
this year i started my list of new possessions, just to begin to know my buying habits and notice the things or situations that make me more susceptible to acquiring new items, i did it inspired by the experiences you share and i'm sure it will be enlightening for my beginner minimalist journey
Since 2019 I have used the Library instead of buying new books. It's totally free and I avoid purchasing books that I read and don't enjoy after reading it. ;)
Tsundoku = the Japanese art of buying books without reading them. It is one of my favorite hobbies!
hahhaha what a cute word :) Maybe this year is the year to read some of them ;)

yes! it's a great and simple way to start!
Have you considered no - buy local groups or borrowing a book from another member of the club? Just some ideas.
