So there is need for market system ache... Appo govt should focus on filling the gaps in market system and then they can tie up markets with corporates with strict regulations.... So it can be beneficial to both farmer and corporate..... But why this requirement is not fulfilled??
You have raised important points. Yes...we have to fulfill these gaps in India. We have to go for land reforms- Under this, we have to consolidate farms of small and marginal farmers and create large scale farms. This will enable us to go for extensive agriculture similar to western countries. On the other side, we need NOT always depend on corporates for agriculture. We should create farm producers groups/cooperatives with membership of farmers themselves. These groups should develop agriculture. They can conduct agriculture end to end- right from produce, transport and marketing
Central govt used entry 33 of concurrent list to bypass this hurdle... Of state list (entry 26,27,28)... Even tough states approach supreme Court... The burden of proof lies on states.. to prove that these laws are unconstitutional....
Good question. Agriculture comes under state list. But these laws/ordinances are related to commerce in farming. This comes under concurrent list. There fore centre also has power to legislate on the same
