ZZZ really feels like a passion project from this small team at Mihoyo. I’m glad that they give them a lot of creative freedom to make so much great content. I love this game (and Yanagi) so much.
Yeah, I like the open world exploration of Genshin but other than that, I prefer ZZZ in nearly every other way. I hope there's more chapters, longer storylines, and more Sons of Calydon content, but it's all been pretty good so far.

I understand that, from a story perspective, the game will always give more spotlight to the new upcoming characters (because without it, there wouldn't be incentive to pull or care for them) but I still hope that the previous characters will always have some sort of time to shine, even if for a little. What makes ZZZ's cast great to me up to now is how they give the impression of being coworkers *AND* your friends next door that you could meet few steps from your house (like the Cunning Hares who always roam around Sixth Street or Belobog Industries who, apparently, isn't far away from Random Play's store).

The setting being so apocalyptic, the artstyle and animation so hyper and exaggerated...but the story is so grounded and doesn't relent on the characters' day to day lives is one of my favorite things about this series.
This kinda EP is like what a character will do in their downtime or how a character is like "wanting/dreaming" about a diff life what they would love to have is really nice Like the only two that dont have an "EP" is Qing Yi who straight got an MV but just showing who she is in the past nth about a want or dream or what they do in downtime or Jane who straight dont get one EP bsc she is always undercover and working even in her trust mission she is always tired busy of work. Since Jane Doe theyve done soooo much to really make us love the characters and get to know them better. Ellen, zhu yuen and qinyi were all skips for me because they just didnt have exciting backstories. The devs didnt really show me enough of them to make me want them Something changed around the time Jane Doe released. We started getting longer EPs and longer demos. They showed less fighting and more drama. The animations got better (jane doe and yanagi used their fingers to an incredible detailed effect) burnice got a super catchy song that went viral. Caeser showed a very soft and girlie side to her that was complete opposite of what her usual look and lore reveals to us. Now this for Yanagi Hats off to ZZZ devs theyve done a great job of really fleshing out these great characters
Yanagi is built on the image of a typical Japanese woman, both strong and capable of taking care of everything in the family, her lore and this song made me exclaim like that

I was blown away when I got her all maxed up with her weapon and got a decent set of chaos jazz (4) and freedom blues (2) finally hit that 375 base proficiency so her sig weapon disorder damage bonus is always up and jeez .. even on a cruddy mono electric team with Qinyui and Seth she is OP .. against Nineveh was doing 3.5 mil damage during stuns with multiple polarity disorder procs and outside of stun she was ticking 100k per shock tick and 400k polarity disorders.. I haven’t even tested her with Caesar and Burnice yet and I’m scared to see how much those disorders are going to be with her then xD (Wish I had Rina but unfortunately she is the only agent I still don’t have 😭 hopefully soon)
probably the best characters so far beside for me. both her kit and playstyle is so cool, something I expected from raiden shogun but they gave us the polearm raiden puppet as playable character instead 🤦♀

This EP has a slice of life anime ending like sequence which fits the more slice of life style of Zenless Zone Zero and the song is about enjoying the simple pleasures in life for Yanagi and in extension for Soukaku. When you see this in the context of what Yanagi had to do so that Soukaku could even live with her, it's like two people who has lived with the burdens of war are finding peace and solace in being able to enjoy everyday life New Eridu offers them. They have nothing big to gain or achieve, they are just glad to be living a quiet life in a warm place.
To me this is inspired by JP pop songs before the 21st Century and it's beautiful. Next up, i won't be surprised if Miyabi will get a Bury The Light-style Japanese EP. 🤣 It's great that all EPs have different song languages depending on the factions too.
