100% they are new and learned how to apply filters in Adobe. What credible artist would ever put their talent and name against AI and have it match 1:1. This is another person who thinks a couple brushstrokes makes them an artist capable of producing anything the AI generator can cook up.
7:08 Even the "after" drawing, the artist still traced the AI mistake of having one big tooth. Like come on, if you are an artist, you should have spotted that obvious mistake the AI made. That's why it's not good to copy AI art. If someone doesn't care about the morality of using AI art in the creative process, they should at least care that you end up copying the mistakes the AI made. Resulting in you getting worse at art. You're teaching yourself mistakes. You can see proof of that because this artist didn't fix that mistake.
YES! Because they trace actual art too, I don't know if it all is but they have often been caught traced and stealing from other artists and then deleting the posts when they pointed it out to them!
I will say that while there is a learning curve when going from traditional to digital, there are nuances. There have been amazing traditional artists who pick up digital art right away or in a few days. Also, if it's a screen tablet vs. a graphic tablet. Depending on how well you've learned the foundation, a lot of the learning process is just the tools and hardware overall. The foundations are universal, and you don't really need to relearn how to draw.
😂 I swear half the “art” in my timeline atm is this sort of traced or filtered AI. Bc let’s be honest, nobody can illustrate from scratch this quickly & most of these folks post multiple times per day
Yeah, got a drawing tablet that I tried to use like, 2 years. Can't remember when I put it since my stuff gets put in another place every week almost, but yeah, like learning to draw for the first time, it sure isn't the same as drawing with paper and pen/pencil
Assuming their first couple posts are completely drawn from scratch, this artist really doesn't need to do the "take art back from AI" thing. They know how to draw, and their traced AI pieces simply aren't as good. I think they might just be engagement farming.
I don't get it why trace ai? I only trace real life photos for things like hands or an eye from time to time I don't use ai in my process at all really Now there's been a time where i used ai on a mood board but never really use it Sucks that Pinterest can't separate art from ai It be hard to tell sometimes Also you can learn digital art pretty fast, i did, but like i wasn't at that level yet I think my art after 3 years of digital has improved a lot
Tracing ai I can understand for practice but not to post of claim, since tracing can really help you learn. But this obviously isn’t what they were doing ofc
I've already written them a comment in the past, not only does they trace AI as an "experiment for the algorithm" but in the past he has TRACED REAL DRAWINGS OF OTHER PEOPLE, which they cleverly removed when I and others pointed it out to them!
Honestly, I'm very scared for the future because people are also training ai to make videos of art process so it's going to be harder and harder to trust people and to prove that you don't use ai. The scariest part is we can't escape ai because an is trained by people and people are everywhere. My worst fear is that one day ai is going to get better and better and there are says to figure out if a piece is ai for example artist are not very good at hands so ai is not very good at hands. But one day we are going to get better. Ai is constantly training too. I'm truly scared for myself because I am a pretty young individual and a terrified for the future. I think a lot of people that used ai because they made a mistake or aren't very good at lying but what if there is an ai user out there that hasn't been caught yet😱
u should start having a thing at the start of each video that says "im not making fun of artist just the people that use AI" so u dont have to keep saying over and over in the video
@@katliente lil bit but i feel like its a waste of time for u, im not tryna be rude or anything but i just mean why waste more time having to explain the same thing over and over. i dislike when people just waste time depending on what it is so yea lmao. but great video and wow that guy is a odd person.
Its crazy cause I clicked on this video through an update from an artist on instagram that exposed them for using other people's digital art, adding one different thing on it and then calling it original 😭😭😭
@@DayDreamling Yeee it was a few days ago that I stumbled upon a reel of it. They'd do the same thing they did as this video explains but instead of AI its some of the art used was from twitter artist. I cant find the reel of the artist but the soul purpose of that reel was because they had they art stolen and edited just like everyone else's. Though after a while I think the stolen piece is deleted off of their page
I'd cringe at myself if I would trace AI images. Like, I understand it if a complete beginner does it, is frustrated about being stuck, cant draw what they want etc. But why has it become so common for more experienced artists to do that? They're sharing it, obviously they want people to see it. Why do you want compliments, attention and praise for something you havent accomplished on your own? I would be embarrassed...
At the 2.49 minute you can see a copy of a Sakamoto Shinichi panel from the manga Inocent (the girl with the tongue out). So, i think is basicaly copying photos
I wanted to try ai for inspiration and when it rendered the idea I felt like a delinquent and ended up disregarding that path and taking some pics just for reference which turned my art piece into an actual art piece. I’m a little too old to even try AI and don’t feel like a cheater but some people may find it useful. Not for me, not for me!
Are you defending this artist? Genuinely asking. Because she covered the transition between traditional and digital is MASSIVE. “You have to learn to draw all over again.”
Here's the thing, you shouldn't trace/ take inspo from ai. Ai as we all know makes these images by *diffusing* actual artwork made by actual artists. So if you trace or take inspo from ai, it's like *stealing* actual artwork, and making referenced pieces without the credit. Ai already stole the artwork and skills of many artists already and us doing the same thing and saying "Take that, AI!" doesn't make us any different than ai, it just proves we as humans are as incapable as ai to produce authentic artwork.
Don't overcomplicate it... You shouldn't trace AI because it has no idea what it's doing and is only averaging patterns it approximated from millions of artworks, without any of the decisions and knowledge that went with each of them. As such it might look pretty, but it looks extremely wonky the moment you look closer.
Completely wrong, it is okay to trace art for practice and taking inspiration from ai is not bad. Directly copying ai art and and saying you made it is of course wrong but if you’re using other artists art for practice I see no problem so why would it be bad to practice with ai art
I remember seeing this account and was so confused about them claiming they only started 6 months ago, because that is obviously not true at all, and a very weird thing to brag about. It makes artists who have been drawing for years or even decades rethink their skills. Them tracing AI completely makes sense now, very scummy.
I mean, using ai art as a base for tracing sounds smart if you wanna improve. But starting and posting them claiming it’s free handed it’s just wrong. At least say it’s traced, i wouldnt care too much if you said it out loud
Am an artist... started digital mid 2021... it was so shet then now 2024, I got better at drawing my OCs and fanart... no way this only took 6 months, even if you are practicing drawing daily. I drew traditionally from 2019, moved to digital 2021
And looking at this artist on Instagram, they now have so many lore followers even though it’s so obvious. You would think such a lack of would be repulsive 💀
From a copyright perspective making changes to the image makes the changes copyrightable. So he is in the legal sense he is taking back art from the AI.
I don't know that much about other countries, but in germany AI pictures usually don't have any copyright status, allowing you to use it as you please (as long as it doesn't look too similar too already copyrighted stuff obviously), but you might've a hard time protecting it in court. Though mind, that most countries doesn't have fair use laws like int the US, which might still allow for copyrights of such products.
I've been watching your channel because I'm approaching the point of taking my own art to the pro level, create an online presence, and try to live off of it (hence, I've watched plenty of art vids and you got suggested in my algo). First of all, love your content! Keep it up please! Secondly, LOL holy F I'm getting ready to step into a drama-filled hellscape aren't I? 😂😂
It does sound good on paper(no pun intended), but they're still participating in AI Art just by tracing over it, and art tracing is considered by many to be a touchy subject.
Just use AI as a tool to keep practicing as a REFERENCE to try and recreate. Tracing is tracing no matter what it is, AI, Reference photos, Realism art photos, it doesn't matter. Tracing too much is just not as good as it seems, especially when you're tryna make bank out of it. AI might only be good if you don't wanna copy other reference photos or you maybe don't wanna get copyrighted, so then you just create your own artificial idea and recolor it.
They started "AI art" 6 months ago. Because I think its obvious that all of their art is AI with filters and and a little editing. Too much variations in style. Plus they literally told on themselves by posting the AI versions they used. I seriously doubt they are a skilled artist. Because otherwise, they would post original works. and WIPs.
I don't even think they're painting over it, I think they're just putting it in an AI filter of sorts. A talented artist wouldn't need to trace an AI image
i can recognize some art from their account that they traced from other artists, also notice how they dont have personal style and all of their early work is clearly photo tracing without understanding contrast and general shapes
Classic AI-bro being completely disconnected from the art journey. If they were a true artist they would know their lies were not believable. Proof of using AI aside, if AI didn't exist they would have been (rightfully) accused of tracing. No one starts this good, even master traditional artists feel out of their element when first doing digital and take quite a bit to get used to it. Give me a break...
The thing is, that being a true artist, especially in the beginning of your internet career, can be quite demoralizing when you see like next to no engagement on your pieces for quite some while. Like you might've been posting for over a year and barely scratch on the 100 follower goal and then someone like this comes around, posting AI stuff left and right and getting nearly 3k followers after 6 month. Many artists have the pride to not resort to such methods, but some people, who value the praise of others higher than their own dignity might go down that bath. And this is not solely a problem of the art community on its own, but about social media in general. The single most important thing is to be as active as possible. If you can post stuff daily, then that's already a big step, but many artists might not have the time to finish an art piece every day, so they can easily fall behind, especially compared to the tight release schedule of AI people, who already automated like 90 % of their workflow.
Misleading info: if you're a traditional artist and start drawing digitally, you don't relearn from scratch. You immediately start rocking. Especially if you use a screen tablet, it is a great advantage to have traditional art skills. I've seen artist who never touched a stylus immediately starts drawing great stuff when presented a screen tablet. You better do traditional mediums drawing to grow as an artist. (I'm not defending anyone here, just correcting what seems to be a bad tip for beginners )
Honestly, tracing AI art is kind of hilarious to me. Like the ripping off comes full circle. I mean, we could use AI to live easier, better lives, but instead, we are using it to make soulless images.
There’s an artist i follow that suddenly started being very great and drawing, but with very poor and random rendering. I feel like it might be the same thing, but since it’s hard to pin point which are being traced since they could be generating their own in a private server, nobody will ever know if it is or not. But it feels off. It feels very ai art all of a sudden, esp faces.

She made the whole thing up for clout and now refuses to delete the video. Katliente has also driven a few pregnant girls to suicide. So pick your side carefully.
My guess is they wanted the gratification of being praised for art. Of course they can learn something from tracing, but AI is not the best place to look if they want to actually get better at art. Artists are so generous, they provide tons of resources, lessons, and references for free. They should've just learnt that way instead of stunting their progress like this. tbh it would be less weird if they were just pro AI and were transparent about it. I really dislike how so many AI "art" users want to play pretend so often. If they believe their art is real and that they're not doing anything wrong, they should stop lying and hiding!
...Or you know... when that artist did the whole "F-Ai" thingu, they were not saying that they made art, but were saying: "Look, this is how I change Ai and piss on it/make it better/whatever"... So the "artist" isn't saying that they draw things or anything... they are saying that they use a computer to change real life images and AI art to create something that look a bit different. But yeah... it is still pretty dumb.
I think they said they make _digital_ art for six months. They could've drawn traditionally for years before that. Takes some time to get used to digital drawing then.
Oh my god ! I talked to them jul 21 bc an artist i followed had suspicion about their art. I told them on their comment section that i felt like it was very suspicious and it looked traced or repainted i dont remember exactly and they were mean and very aggressive immediately. I told them that generating ai pictures was 1. Stealing from artist and 2. Destroying the environment. They then told me to get therapy and they blocked me bc i told them the ANTI AI in their bio was hypocritical lol... The artist that made me discover this persons art on their story also talked to them in dms and asked them if they could see the speedpaint of the nun one and i cant find it again but the speedpaint was soooooo suspicious, it looked like some elements popped out of nowhere it was really weird !!! Im glad they are being called out by a bigger creator because i dont think this is the right way of "fighting ai" lol.... Its just engagement bait if you ask me, not anti ai "activism" Edit: i think they are educated on the topic, not minisformed, but just. Dont care. As i said i talked to them and i would say that i articulate my point pretty well but they consciously choose to not care and ignore my concerns because they dont care and they want that internet fame.
I watched that video too, honestly I don't know if the allegations are real, if it is I won't support the streamer anymore... but about the "artist", she accuses her of lying but I and other people can say for sure that she (the streamer) did not lie as in the past she traced drawings of other artists! They were deleted when some people called her out
@@possumvile I'm not usually mean, but man, it pisses me off that she has the audacity to feel sorry for herself when she stole other people's work and then write "repost with credit" in her bio. I don't believe in karma but I hope it takes its course
ok, one question. one time i asked an ai to draw a black and white sketch for me, and then i traced it, adapted it and coloured it. is that so bad as this?
I think it's okay if you're practicing or studying a concept, there's nothing wrong with that. It's just that you shouldn't claim it as your own as you didn't draw the sketch.
In hyperrealism there is technique when artist copy or takes a photo and makes it slightly different. This guy takes ai and makes art from it. Honestly I am as an artist who never used ai prefer this art over what people mostly draw today. It's just less boring.
I find it weird how people aren't worried about AI becoming good. It can already create perfectly realistic videos that can trick me, so we should be more careful and should be using more tools such as glaze to prevent it. We should stop patting ourselves in the back being completely ignorant of the fact people's jobs are already being taken. I've heard a small but well known slop-making animation studio already wants to use AI in their animations.
@@regularaccount90 "People are already losing their jobs!" Because of AI. People also lost their jobs when oil lamps stopped being the best way to light up your home. And yet nobody advocates to ditch elecrical lighting to save the poor oil lamp workers do they? Progress will never stop because people might lose their jobs.
@@unownyoutuber9049 Yeah, but art is everywhere, AI is a bigger problem and it can also harm other industrys like writing, composing, etc. Plus modern lamps still take effort and money to make. AI straight up removes the effort and builds a dystopia for people who draw as a job. Also, aren't oil lamps like REALLY REALLY outdated or something? And, adding on to the problems with AI. AI gets innocent people blamed for using AI. My conclusion is that AI is a MUCH MUCH bigger problem.
i aint gonna lie, im an enjoyer of tracing ai art. (i never share it unless its to friends and i always tell them its traced. sometimes its fun to just color!)
every time you spend the hour or two it take doing that i hope you remember you could actually learn how to draw it instead. every hour you spent wasting time on that is another hour of actually learning experience down the drain, youll wake up ten years from now and wonder why youre not getting any better at art.
I think there is nothing wrong if it is something you admit openly, that person did not do it until he was discovered and in some of his old works he traced drawings of other artists
You know what's so discouraging? When people say that they have only been drawing for 6 months and they're just so so so much better than you and you've been working on drawing for years and you're not even close to their skill. It's unrealistic, sure there are exceptions but most of us can't just get better within 6 months, some of us take years. I've been drawing for 15 years and I'm still shit at it (to be fair to myself, i'm handicapped) and then when it turns out that those people lied about having improved so much, it just feels like a slap in the face towards anyone actually trying to get better.
It does take years. It's a constant practice, studying, applying the learned subject, let the brain assimilate it and remember it as you keep practicing. Don't let that discourage you. The worst thing you can do is lie to yourself and that's exactly what these people are doing. While they waste their time lying and using shortcuts, you're using that time to improve. In the end, you'll be the one who turns into a skilled artist and not them.
IDK. Im a traditional artist who started doing digital also (not instead of) and i didnt find it hard to switch up. But maybe its cuz i draw everything i do digitally too, lol, i dont use the brushes for clouds or jewellry or whatever or use the tools for making straight lines, curved lines, circles..... Im probably wasting SO much time, but.....whatever! IDC!🤣🤣
The "artist" being anti AI and turning out to be using AI just disgusts me. Even if AI isn't theft I consider AI MORE MORALLY WRONG then stealing, not because of it being trained on a bunch of images, but because it's like cheating because you're skipping the creative process and effort that hundreds of artists had to go through and put effort into making their artwork and you're presenting it as if you created it, and the worst about it is that not only that it can replace real artist's job and also makes innocent artists accused for nothing.

This is genuinely hilarous 😂😭 I mean the title speak for itself even without the context
😂 I swear half the “art” in my timeline atm is this sort of traced or filtered AI. Bc let’s be honest, nobody can illustrate from scratch this quickly & most of these folks post multiple times per day
They're not tracing. They are just putting their own spin on the AI pics. Good on you for calling them out.
Yeah, got a drawing tablet that I tried to use like, 2 years. Can't remember when I put it since my stuff gets put in another place every week almost, but yeah, like learning to draw for the first time, it sure isn't the same as drawing with paper and pen/pencil
the fisheye perspective one is an existing photo, I took it as a reference for his mood for 3D on pinterest
Assuming their first couple posts are completely drawn from scratch, this artist really doesn't need to do the "take art back from AI" thing. They know how to draw, and their traced AI pieces simply aren't as good. I think they might just be engagement farming.
I don't get it why trace ai?
I only trace real life photos for things like hands or an eye from time to time
I don't use ai in my process at all really
Now there's been a time where i used ai on a mood board but never really use it
Sucks that Pinterest can't separate art from ai
It be hard to tell sometimes
Also you can learn digital art pretty fast, i did, but like i wasn't at that level yet
I think my art after 3 years of digital has improved a lot
same,, its been around 3 years for me too
Tracing ai I can understand for practice but not to post of claim, since tracing can really help you learn.
Btw sorry for typing this long paragraph about me just expressing my rage and thank you to people that took the time to read this😁😁
*I think a lot of people who use an get caught(sorry I was so angry I forgot to type caught😭)
u should start having a thing at the start of each video that says "im not making fun of artist just the people that use AI" so u dont have to keep saying over and over in the video
honestly true :o for ppl who have seen my other vids it’s probably very annoying 🥲
@@katliente lil bit but i feel like its a waste of time for u, im not tryna be rude or anything but i just mean why waste more time having to explain the same thing over and over. i dislike when people just waste time depending on what it is so yea lmao. but great video and wow that guy is a odd person.
@ds7590 FACTS, people are kinda soft.
Its crazy cause I clicked on this video through an update from an artist on instagram that exposed them for using other people's digital art, adding one different thing on it and then calling it original 😭😭😭
Funny because that thief called the streamer a liar despite all the evidence from all the people calling her out
@@DayDreamling Yeee it was a few days ago that I stumbled upon a reel of it.
Imagine someone hating something, but doing it
the nun piece they did also had traced hands, i dont remember the artists name, but that hand piece they did is very popular
Not for me, not for me!
i love her videos so much her voice is so real and honest lowkey my therapy
Some users were double standards.
Claimed about anti AI art and behaves like fanatic, yet in private used AI art app.
0:56 They said they’ve been doing DIGITAL for six months
Are you defending this artist? Genuinely asking. Because she covered the transition between traditional and digital is MASSIVE. “You have to learn to draw all over again.”
Pov you have not watched the full control video…
man what is up with all of this ai art. i feel like the love of the craft is slowly dying
fr...
💀
@@militaryzoned2964
yea, image generators get anatomy, proportions, lighting, and perspective wrong more often than a trained human artist
Completely wrong, it is okay to trace art for practice and taking inspiration from ai is not bad. Directly copying ai art and and saying you made it is of course wrong but if you’re using other artists art for practice I see no problem so why would it be bad to practice with ai art
@@hikari4415 babes, what’s not clicking? AI art has horrible lighting, anatomy & consistency issues💀
At least say it’s traced, i wouldnt care too much if you said it out loud
dude its coming to the point where its harder to fake it than drawing the dang thing 💀
Omg this is the first time in early😭😭 I love your videos so much!!!!!!
I don't believe someone in their digital art for the 1st month is able to know all these filters. The "beginner" is just rage bait.
I love ur commentary
You’re now officially the ai artist exposer. Good work soldier 🫡
Erojosh's protege
they say they are anti AI so that no one will suspect them for using AI, we ain't falling for that
They started "AI art" 6 months ago. Because I think its obvious that all of their art is AI with filters and and a little editing. Too much variations in style. Plus they literally told on themselves by posting the AI versions they used. I seriously doubt they are a skilled artist. Because otherwise, they would post original works. and WIPs.
They deleted the AI vs Beginner now
i mean when i switched to digital it was really easy to adapt so i do think it’s possible they’re a beginner in regards to doing art digitally.
They also traced the art of an artist I follow.....
People who having that talent of drawing are like that in the short time are like 1% of the population its like extremely rare. Like really rare
The one with the tongue out of the mouth is pretty famous if I remember, I saw it before, I am pretty sure that is robbed
Please keep nitpicking.... i think i'm going back to drawing with a pencil on paper.. so sick of cheaters.
Honestly they seem very much like a beginner, the drawing is stiff and any fundamentals that look good are traced directly from ai.
They claimed to draw digitally for 6 month maybe they have a background in traditional painting
There’s an artist i follow that suddenly started being very great and drawing, but with very poor and random rendering. I feel like it might be the same thing, but since it’s hard to pin point which are being traced since they could be generating their own in a private server, nobody will ever know if it is or not. But it feels off. It feels very ai art all of a sudden, esp faces.
no way ive been mutuals with this person since they started posting
this creator whose video you are watching has made up lies, ignored speedpaints etc of celestialetherea and also sent so much hate their way that they got doxxed and threatened. She made the whole thing up for clout and now refuses to delete the video. Katliente has also driven a few pregnant girls to suicide. So pick your side carefully.
i just checked their insta and they're still copying AI images I've come across on pinterest like 😭
My guess is they wanted the gratification of being praised for art. If they believe their art is real and that they're not doing anything wrong, they should stop lying and hiding!
...Or you know... when that artist did the whole "F-Ai" thingu, they were not saying that they made art, but were saying:
"Look, this is how I change Ai and piss on it/make it better/whatever"...
Its just engagement bait if you ask me, not anti ai "activism"
Edit: i think they are educated on the topic, not minisformed, but just. Dont care. As i said i talked to them and i would say that i articulate my point pretty well but they consciously choose to not care and ignore my concerns because they dont care and they want that internet fame.
She posted about this video and accused you of some pretty awful things on Instagram
I watched that video too, honestly I don't know if the allegations are real, if it is I won't support the streamer anymore... but about the "artist", she accuses her of lying but I and other people can say for sure that she (the streamer) did not lie as in the past she traced drawings of other artists! They were deleted when some people called her out
@@DayDreamling yeah I commented on her post asking for evidence and she deleted the post
Why are you using ai for art in first place?
I think it's okay if you're practicing or studying a concept, there's nothing wrong with that. It's just that you shouldn't claim it as your own as you didn't draw the sketch.
I mean as long as you don't claim it as 100% original n stuff and don't claim it I think it's fine just don't use it all the time
Is it ok to use ai art for color palettes and aesthetic ideas
I can recognize some of the artwork. a lot of them are traced from 3d artists that've seen on artstation
Can you drop some of the artist's nicknames? If this doesn't bother you, obviously! I want to follow the real people who create those works
yes! i also recognized very common pinterest references (real images) that the artist put a filter over and then drew 1 or 2 things lol ......
2:51 the Miku drawing at the bottom left is traced. I found the same on google
In hyperrealism there is technique when artist copy or takes a photo and makes it slightly different. This guy takes ai and makes art from it. Honestly I am as an artist who never used ai prefer this art over what people mostly draw today. It's just less boring.
I feel actually super embarrassed because I fell for it and followed them for a while...
New technology has and always will makes jobs obsolete. But your not up in arms that the oil lamp manufacturers are out of business now are you?
@@unownyoutuber9049 Why are you comparing art to oil lamps manufacturers?
@@DayDreamling yes that is extremely icky!
Man, I feel you. Sending hugs 🫂
Please, don't give up
Do people know who is the person behind all these scam artists?
