The way that he performs is among the most honest that I have seen.I like the way that he plays in the moment digs into his guitar and rips the vocals out but also sings very heartfelt songs. I find these songs to be timeless classics. Born too Loose... I liked that at the end. It tied things together. What a musician!!!!

When he was clean he was very animated and exuded a whole lot of nervous energy. His voice was clearer too. In this era he was pretty much always strung out but there were some shows in the mid-eighties he played clean and they were always fantastic. Johnny Thunders' eyeballs are rolling behind the sockets here, the man is so loaded he's on the verge of an OD. A manager wouldn't have let him go on because he's in real state: his guitar gets out of tune and he's too stoned to tune it, the strap keeps coming off, he misses bits of songs, etc.. his whole performance looks chaotic and unpredictable 'cause he's so out of it. Probably Walter Lure and the rest of the band were used to it, and if he wouldn't have gone on and moved around then he would have fallen asleep, risking to go under and a have a fatal OD for real. But he could do the songs even in such a state 'cause he was really good, he could play some of the best Rock'n'Roll ever with his eyes shut and standing upside down. Thanks for posting this
