Fascinating story of Simon's photographic journey. In some ways he mirrors where I am now - but I'm 59 and just about to embark on an MA Photography. I live in the Black Country (Cradley Heath) - a place and people Martin Parr has successfully documented a while back. I do like Simon's honest and pragmatic approach.
Thanks for commenting Moeran1944, we wish you best of luck with the MA and look forward to welcoming you to the foundation in the future. Our student membership is an excellent resource for students and a great way to access some hard to find photography material in our collection.
Hi Tom. It is great to hear that our Sofa Sessions have been able to introduce you to new photography. We hope that you are able to discover much more through our on-going series.
Thanks for commenting Pavan, he spoke about the election project here at the Foundation and this talk is part of our archive, it is available to access here as part of our collections.
@@MartinParrFDN Could I get an access to that? One of my dream project is to shoot an election project and it may give me an insight on researching more. As always love your work Martin and great work MPFoundation.
Martin, we have seen and love your work but it would behove you to show the work of those you are interviewing at the beginning. Even better if they are sprinkled throughout the conversation.

Did a workshop with Simon a few years ago... he's a lovely chap, hugely talented and the workshop was, and continues to be, a very useful experience.
Great to hear Andy and thanks for taking the time to comment.
Excellent as always.
Thanks again Monty!
Thank you. Hadn't come across Simon's work before but delighted to have now found it

Thanks for this video - it's really enjoyable to hear Simon talking about his work and the way in which he approaches it.
Our pleasure Jon and thanks for your feedback.
Really loved his perspective. Wish he spoke about the 2010 election project.
