Ok so hold on, i just started playing recently and managed to beat one of the strike fleets, albeit with some losses, does that mean that one of the strike fleets is perma-gone?
The game really does have a lot of inspirations from Dune and Homeworld particuarly deserts of Kharak. They shine throughout the entire game and I think thats amazing.

I wonder if it's perhaps a reference to either the inhabitants/race/people of Kharak in Homeworld, or if it's a historical reference to the Kushan Empire that was formed in the Bactrian territories (around Afghanistan) in the early 1st century. I suppose it can be a reference to both... or possibly just a coincidence. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
this song almost sounds like its apart of the battle itself. the whining of failing systems, and launched missles. the thumps of constant volleys of heavy ordanance. the ting of spent shells falling to the floor. the sound designer/composer did an incredible job with this
A small detail I noticed in highfleet, when you've been alerted for something incoming you can hear the crew running up and down the corridors which is really immersive
The developers were really into the roleplay while making this game, the music being true to the reality of the situation after the prologue, you can feel yourself in the crowd cheering while mesmerized by the sheer size of sevastopol, the airship that came along with the hope of victory for the empire. It's hard to find a game that gives you this sense of immersion nowadays.
Indeed, I would have wished that they leaned a bit more into the roleplaying aspect. Sadly once you've acquired your allies there are mostly just VERY FEW random events that adjust their stance towards you. I'd have really liked more involvement in that regard. Still a stellar game nontheless. :)

I was running from a Strike group on my first game, barely survived the cruise missiles they threw at me, then for the first time I had to field the Sevastopol. Then this music kicked in while I was raining the Wrath of the Almightly down on the Gathering scum. Absolutely amazing.

The music is perfect for the dire situation you're put in, the dread of tomorrow but also the will to man your stations, fly your airships and make your stand to re-establish the Romani Empire. This playing during Elite Strike Group battles reminds you of all of that in the face of a greater, threatening force.
This song speaks to the eyes wide and bloodshot helmsman in me, covered in the blood of your friend who was vaporized when a 30mm shell struck the hull plate you guys were standing next to, but there's no time to mourn, in fact, if you waste any more time, there will be no more time at all.

Особенно тяжко на душе, когда вражеская ударная группа вступает с тобой в бой, а у тебя только три-четыре начальных корвета. Тогда этот трек играет абсолютно новыми красками.

Севастополь полуразваленый от ракет и самолетов шел первый, в расчете задавить их ракетным залпом, но ракеты не нанесли им урона, и они до конца распилили его, гладиатор, который так уверенно разносил мелкие кораблики, был сразу же разрушен в начале битвы волной ракет, и крупнокалиберных пушек, от двух молний остались лишь их огрызки, которые некогда было чинить, одна разбилась об землю, другую сбили. Волна была без оружия, и пошла на последней таран...
А по сему, нужно делать одного толстого гиперкуба, обвешанного 10 100-130мм и 3 37мм и в два слоя брони закатанного. Хватает в одного лупить 3 крейсера. Главное вес секундного залпа и перезарядка с возможностью сбивать ракетки.

Однако же в этой прекрасной игре и в сфере манчкинства и минимакса к счастью можно пробовать новое ) Я вот пришел недавно к тому, что от ракет проще уворачиваться с тепловыми ловушками - это избавляет сразу от кучи пулеметов. А кучу 100-к заменил на три спаренных 180-ки. И сделал круглый(!) компактный кораблик, с двойным бронированием )). Очень понравилось

I was having a pretty good time against my enemies on my first playthrough, they were too slow for my lightning "Strike group" They're looking for me? I'll show em! Gentlemen, I learned a hard lesson that day
they kept destroying me so i restarted and directly took out the sevastopol, it went well, not much damages, but my ships started to riot and i lost half my fleet
First game tried to hide the Sevastopol from a strike group. Failed but i ended up kicking their shit in. What an introduction to a great game that was.

I personally really like this tune, it's more weird and it creates a great atmosphere. Very different to hammerfight( which was the first game I ever played) so will need to adjust but it looking really great so far.
carts full of shells rush along the corridors. lockers with high-altitude suits open, guns are loaded. mechanics open the backup fuel pipes to speed up the engines, the radar beeps to the beat of the heart. visual contact has been established with enemy ships. your people are exhausted but in the ecstasy of battle, they are ready to die taking as many enemy heads as possible with them
Fighting Strike Groups head-on as a begginer is like doing headbutts in a fight. No one wins. You might have taken one down, but your nose is bloody, and the second one is coming.

Keep the radar on Be raided by 3 consecutive strike fleets when you have only 2 ships in bad conditions (including Sevastopol) Somehow win all 3 with Sevastopol and one brave ship, some luck, drunken driving and forcing enemies to eat their own rockets "Whew, that was a nice fight. Surely it can't get worse" Mfw 4th Strike fleet comes in with Nomad, and even more power, sending Sevastopol into Oblivion One barely-holding ship just desperately shoots, and rams into someone Sevastopol debris hit that Nomad This music plays for 40 minutes or even more straight And the only thought was "I took them all with me." Great work, truly. The game, the music, the story. I just love it.

Один из лучших треков, подходящий точно в тематику игры. И лучшей музыки в момент интенсивного файта нескольких огромных крейсеров разных классов и безысходности потерь не найти. Сразу чувствуется тяжесть битвы от одной песни в момент расстановки порядка юнитов. Незабываемый иммерсив.
Особенно тяжко на душе, когда вражеская ударная группа вступает с тобой в бой, а у тебя только три-четыре начальных корвета. Тогда этот трек играет абсолютно новыми красками.
@@user-uz9le1wn9i мне прям жесть как понравилась музыка когда я сначала принял 2-3 ракеты из 6 потеряв при этом 2 корабля и один был просто в щи. еще после боя я потерял Севастополь и летал потом в поисках скрытого города, но так и не нашел, меня добил ударный отряд

Я расцениваю этот трек скорее как этакий реквием, тк включается он только когда силы противника превосходят твои.
Прям в точку, музыка прям берет за душу. да и просто слушая её хочется взять и вылететь на гладиаторе против всего Собрания.

Yup. As you said. Some flaws that could be fixed in patches, but otherwise beautiful with promising lore and lots of storytelling potential.
Kinda buggy at times, frustratingly so, but it's got a charm to it I feel few games actually pull off
It's still being patched though so hopefully the bugginess will be fixed

Первая встреча с Ударной Группой, иза этой песни была до жути безысходной. Севастополь полуразваленый от ракет и самолетов шел первый, в расчете задавить их ракетным залпом, но ракеты не нанесли им урона, и они до конца распилили его, гладиатор, который так уверенно разносил мелкие кораблики, был сразу же разрушен в начале битвы волной ракет, и крупнокалиберных пушек, от двух молний остались лишь их огрызки, которые некогда было чинить, одна разбилась об землю, другую сбили. Волна была без оружия, и пошла на последней таран...
А по сему, нужно делать одного толстого гиперкуба, обвешанного 10 100-130мм и 3 37мм и в два слоя брони закатанного. Хватает в одного лупить 3 крейсера. Главное вес секундного залпа и перезарядка с возможностью сбивать ракетки.

Я вот пришел недавно к тому, что от ракет проще уворачиваться с тепловыми ловушками - это избавляет сразу от кучи пулеметов. А кучу 100-к заменил на три спаренных 180-ки.
И сделал круглый(!) компактный кораблик, с двойным бронированием )). Очень понравилось

they kept destroying me so i restarted and directly took out the sevastopol, it went well, not much damages, but my ships started to riot and i lost half my fleet
Lesson number 1:Don't use Interpids as a strike force
First game tried to hide the Sevastopol from a strike group. Failed but i ended up kicking their shit in. What an introduction to a great game that was.
I wish there was a version of this but with added gun sounds and cheering of your soldiers.

Если сделать своего дизельмеха в редавторе то с ним можно пройти всю игру, я так в свой 2й ран и сделал, (1 забагал и крашит после загрузки) в итоге прошёл уже 85% а кастомный мех до сих пор жив)

The imperial standard and banner are a nice touch.
I personally really like this tune, it's more weird and it creates a great atmosphere. Very different to hammerfight( which was the first game I ever played) so will need to adjust but it looking really great so far.
I loved hammerfight, and this game looks like its shaping up pretty well. Would like to see co-op and variety of weapons!

I was not expecting this at the end of the tutorial, buy by God, did it instantly tell me that I was going to love this game!
carts full of shells rush along the corridors. lockers with high-altitude suits open, guns are loaded. mechanics open the backup fuel pipes to speed up the engines, the radar beeps to the beat of the heart. visual contact has been established with enemy ships. your people are exhausted but in the ecstasy of battle, they are ready to die taking as many enemy heads as possible with them
When I heard this in Seth's video I immediately went on searching.
I can see about as much in this video as I can in an average battle.
10/10 for immersion.
Fighting Strike Groups head-on as a begginer is like doing headbutts in a fight. No one wins. You might have taken one down, but your nose is bloody, and the second one is coming.
One of the most unique strategy games I've played.

Наверное мало кто заметил, но если с самого начала включить скорость 0.25, а затем быстро поставить на паузу, то вы сможете увидеть интерфейс игры. Те кто играл в игру, заметят, что сверху (там где находиться кнопка глушилки) 2 жёлтые кнопки. Хотя в игре на том месте есть только одна большая красная кнопка.
Причем не релизную версию.

Keep the radar on
Be raided by 3 consecutive strike fleets when you have only 2 ships in bad conditions (including Sevastopol)
Somehow win all 3 with Sevastopol and one brave ship, some luck, drunken driving and forcing enemies to eat their own rockets
"Whew, that was a nice fight. Surely it can't get worse"
Mfw 4th Strike fleet comes in with Nomad, and even more power, sending Sevastopol into Oblivion
One barely-holding ship just desperately shoots, and rams into someone
Sevastopol debris hit that Nomad
This music plays for 40 minutes or even more straight
And the only thought was
"I took them all with me."
Great work, truly. The game, the music, the story. I just love it.
