Todd is the kind of guy who cleans the sanding pad between each test, sets the charts left axes range from 0 to max, and shows no extra b-roll. And I don't think I will ever hear an ad for athletic greens or Surfshark on this channel. Can we give this man more Patreon and youtube membership love?
2.79 mill subs he is getting love but I agree it should be 10mil atleast. His content is very informative and valuable for anyone especially blue collar folks.
He’s the only channel you need to check for real deal info on stuff. Thorough as can be !
Haha right most of the time I'm not sure if he's a scientist or you youtube product tester 😂
It's why I have a patreon subscription, this stuff is necessary
Todd just a national treasure. We must Protect him at all costs.
Use Ariat for oilfield use and are extremely extremely durable. The failure point for me was getting fat so they no longer fit!
Thanks for the feedback.
I just switched to Ariats from Wranglers and so far am loving them.
😂 Know the feeling! 😎✌🏼
your not alone Phill.
I bought M3's for a few years. Then they noticably changed and the price went up $20. They don't last like they used to. The first few pairs I bought I wore and washed 2-3 times a week for 3 years before I wore a hole through the front thigh area from working.
I am not a small guy, I wear 40x34 pants(no I am not fat, quite the opposite) and the main draw was Ariat made pants with an actual mid-rise so they didn;t go up my butt crack when i put them on. That changed too.
I switched to Nautica. now they also discontinued recently the pants i was buying.
Like everything nowdays, I am no longer brand loyal. the people that make the best thing get my money. Brands are pointless now.
Where else can you get such a comprehensive analysis on the things we use every day. He helps us all make the best decisions based on our specific needs. And somehow finds the time to respond to so many comments thanking people for their input.
Well done and thanks for your efforts.

@@ProjectFarm no, thank you
If it's not about the product don't post it. We all know this is a good channel or we wouldn't be here. Thousands of idjits droning on is not helpful.
Todd, please don't be discouraged when folks skip right to the end of a video. We love your testing, we love the work you put in, and we enjoy getting to see that process. It is also true that sometimes we don't need a new pair of jeans (or jack stand, etc.) and we'd rather just find out the final brand that came out on top. One way to keep those viewers longer is to tell us upfront exactly what brands you are testing, during the intro. Thanks. (And, PS, Para-cord is still the video I am most excited for).
This video was boring and 100% skippable.
I'm good with my jeans choice but every week I tune in for the battle. It's my Sunday ritual, doesn't matter what the products are, it's fun to watch what kind of torture you dream up for them.
I've gotten some tools based on your videos, but the entertainment value of the videos drags me back every week. Thanks for all you do!

I loved to see the comment about YKK! Almost 40 years ago I visited a YKK factory as a service technician to work on a fax machine. I saw some sign about YKK being the best zippers in the world, so I asked someone about that. The plant manager took me on a quick tour and explained the manufacturing process and exactly why they are the best. To this day, anyone that knows me knows I will not buy any serious product that has a zipper unless that zipper says "YKK"! lol
It's not easy to find zippers not made by YKK - most of them aren't good either.
Yeah well that was 40 years ago so who knows, craftmans also was the best tools and now look at them
@@_hector__Irrelevant. What an asinine comment.
You will not find better zippers than YKK. They are still the market leader for a reason. Genius.
@@Rokaize cry about your precious zippers 😂

One area that carries some added interest in mens jeans are the number of belt loops. The more the better especially around the back to help prevent the leather belt from folding over.
Interesting set of tests. It's truly hard to beat an $11 pair of Costco Jeans if they have them in stock...its a gamble Costco has them every time you shop there.
Thought you were gonna say plumbers crack.
Great point!
@@ProjectFarm Wrangler has 5 loop across the back I believe...very good idea.
But for $11
Too many belt loops and they interfere with a pistol holster
When it came to buying jeans I was very brand-conscious (Levi's) since I assumed that brand equaled quality. This video has changed my opinion. Thanks for doing the....legwork Mr. Farm, and arming us with the sweet delicious information!
Levi's went anti-freedom woke.
Thanks and you are welcome!
Levi's haven't been good for about the last 20 years.
I've never cared for Levi's. I did when I was little bit as I grew up, I realized Levi's is just overpriced crap. I buy cheap jeans, usually Old Navy, for work as they're cheap and I'm not sad if it's gets ruin. When it comes to jeans that I really like, believe it or not, Banana Republic are really good and it's fairly cheap at roughly $70. They fit kind of tight but over time, they get extremely comfortable as they start to loosen up. Will have to get a Costco membership as jeans for $11 is worth trying out.
@@videodistro exactly why I will never own a pair of Levi's again.
I love how this guy tests everything, the amount of research he has to put to figure out how to test a specific object is a lot, great job, thanks for your videos.
Thank you and Merry Christmas!
I was a Levi fan for many years, but their quality, especially fabric wearing into holes, made me turn to wearing wranglers. Your testing seems to prove my point. Glad you did this denim test because I have other brand options to consider, and others to possibly avoid.
Thanks for sharing.
I remember as a kid Levi's were the go to. Now my pair barely lasted me 3 months before I had to do surgery.
Im on my route to that. Researching now.
Try roundhouse jeans
@@Look_What_You_Did It depends on the version you get but most wranglers are a heavier weight more durable fabric than most Levi's and spandex is only used in flex fabric options which are not typically used in workwear.
Honestly one of the best content creators on TH-cam!
The effort you put into these videos is amazing!
Thanks so much!
Being a really big guy and having a tough labor job, I really love the Duluth double flex jeans. The gusset is what gives them the name "Ballroom" and that is huge to me. Having a Duluth store 10 minutes from my house is a really big plus as well. Well worth the price!
I love their cargo pants!!!
I’ve been thinking about trying Origin jeans for a while. I love their story and that they’re completely USA made. Although pricey you showed they’re tough as well. Thanks for another well done review.

@@ProjectFarm All American is likely OE by Diamond Gusset, which has motorcycle jeans with kevlar lining at the $160 price point.

Thank you so much for telling where the jeans were made. This is a VERY important factor in my purchasing decision, and I appreciate you including this information. I hope you have a FANTASTIC Christmas day!!
Agreed!

I agree! I try and avoid buying American if I can.
Its actually hard to find made in china jeans
@j on sounds sarcastic. However, 80% of the stuff "made in 🇺🇸" is overpriced cr*p.
I had just ordered my first pair of Origin jeans just before I found this video. I was keeping my fingers crossed the entire time. I was thrilled to see them come out on top. Thanks for all the information.
You are welcome!
Almost everything Origin makes tends to be top-shelf. I’m social media acquaintances with one of the owners via jiu-jitsu and have gotten to see insights into how they think about things since they first started as a jiu-jitsu gi company. They’re always very “made in America” and quality-focused, and hearing Brian talk about decisions they make and changes they’ve made make it clear how serious they are about producing a high-quality product.
Got an origin gi, the thing is top quality and now I'm getting boots. They don't compromise on materials for sure. And also I'd rather pay for true American made products.
Thanks for the feedback.
Their boots are on my list of footwear to buy.
@@Owens_Racing just get the sizing right and they'll be great.

this is one of the best episodes yet. As a tall person I find all my pants blow out in the crotch but I have, with some jobs, found the knees go out in some applications first. Great channel. fan for years. thank you

I'm a Duluth fanboy. I switched from Wrangler to Duluth after some really bad quality issues with the Wranglers and they fit me better than anything I've ever worn before. I invested several hundreds of dollars buying jeans and underwear (the armachillo boxer briefs are really comfortable and worth $30/pair if you live in a hot climate) last year. It's nice to see them come out high in the rankings!
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
Thanks for supporting the channel! I really appreciate it!
Thank you for adding Origin jeans to this test. I was pleased, but not surprised, to see that they won overall.
It's hard to find an overall winner because things like breathability affect puncture resistance (something I think you mentioned in the first video), so to see them still come out on top is pretty cool.
Merry Christmas!
A Christmas video from Project Farm? That there's the gift that keeps on giving, Clark!
Merry Christmas!
I purchased Kirkland jeans for work for the last few years before I retired. They weren't bad, never split in the crotch, had a bit of a loose fit but that was good for movement, and though they weren't as heavy as Levi's or Wranglers they seemed to hold up OK. I also accidentally would get battery acid, or acid residue on jeans, and that would mercilessly dissolve any denim when washed, so, a cheaper value pair of jeans made more sense if and when I did damage them.
Great feedback on the Kirkland jeans! Thank you and Merry Christmas!
The problem with Kirkland jeans is that every other year or so they change the source of manufacturing and it changes the quality and especially a fit. I have some great Kirkland jeans from 10 years back and still going strong and few no so great that I purchased in last 5 years. Also, their black color jeans are totally off in fitting than just the blue ones. Basically, what I am saying is that Kirkland quality and fit varies with every batch.
Yeah, when I was working around splashed bleach, same thing, it dissolves denim. So no point in anything but the cheapest.
@@trance20001 DOUBTLESS both SAMs and COSTCO are slowly transforming into the worst quality products ever stores. They change suppliers for just a cent less, regardless of quality.
@@alfredomarquez9777 I am not a Sam's member, so I can't comment on that point. But in my experience you couldn't be more wrong about Costco. All of the Kirkland products I've tried are a great value when compared to a highly advertised brand. I own some Kirkland jeans and dress shirts, the jeans hold up well for me. The Kirkland dress shirts are the best I have found in the last 10 years. Better than Van Heusen at 1/2 the price. If you buy Kirkland, you get similar performance to a leading brand at a lower price point.
Ok... here's a suggestion. As a trucker(the kind that unloads their own trailer) a trashman and now a transportation maintenance worker/snow plow operator...I need to know the absolute BEST work pant manufacturer.
I've independently discovered Truewerk(and love them). Carhartt was once great but not anymore unless you get the steel series (which make mobility and agility difficult).
Never found Duluth to be comfortable
Would love to see you do a shootout/ comparison.
Keep up the amazing work, love the hell out of what you do!
Thanks for the suggestion.
Part of my criteria for jeans is how the cut of them feels while wearing them. I avoid the Rustler brand, as they seem to feel like a cheap hotel (no ballroom), and some of them felt like they were on backwards all the time. (Hard to describe, like the fabric on the front of the thigh is tight when you move your legs.) Some of the best britches I have are the old Faded Glory and Basic Editions (No Kmart around here these days, so can't get them anymore) which allow a good range of motion, are fairly sturdy, and ride high enough to hide the plumber's posterior.
You could ship your pants! I've seen the Kmart ad.
Thanks for the feedback.
Basically youre right, the jeans shouldnt interfere with the ballroom but the underwear should. I use boxerbriefs one size below my actual size to get a tight grip, with high activity it will save you from painful experiences like twisted nuts and whatever. Oh and the myth about tight undies and fertility, completely untrue, no evidence except assumptions.
Great work Tod and Eddie, impressive testing, would like to see the subjective numbers in a separate list.
Thanks!
The american made brands, Origins and All American, share some of the best results overall. Definitely worth the money for me, especially during the holidays. Always buy american when possible. Germany or UK do high quality clothing as well, very resistant although it seems difficult to find european made products sometimes.

@@ProjectFarm Awesome test! Thanks for checking out the Origin, I need to look into the Ariat and Duluth
Another great quality video! Thank you so much for your hard work and dedication to get these tests done right and in an understandable fashion. On the topic of jeans, if you ever find yourself in an excess of money, might I suggest a showdown of fire retardant jeans or clothing in general? Over here in the land of the pump jacks, that's all we're allowed to wear for work, and that would be some seriously valuable information to the people out here. I'd understand if it takes a bit to get the video out or if it's out of reach because each pair starts at the $100+ range and just goes up from there. I believe this info can be comparable when it comes to the brands that also make the fr jeans as well, so no biggie if you say no. Keep up the great work, and thanks again!

Per what I felt to be conclusive results of your last jeans video, I swapped from Levi's to Lee. TEST: The best ranch coat/jacket for welding. I'm talking everyday ranch coat worn for working in but more specifically that will hold up to grinding/welding in. I've tried Walls, Carhart, Wrangler but the only one I can get to hold up more than one year is Outback Oilskin. All the rest fray easily then catch in fire and I don't care to buy and wear fire rated clothing to farm/ranch in everyday and leather sleeves don't fit over winter coats, are uncomfortable, binding and about impossible to keep up with.

Hear me now, believe me later: polyester burns into your skin. Cotton burns away from your skin.
If you've never used them, the green cloth welding sleeves (with elastic cuffs) are worth a shot.

As a trade worker my whole life I have worn several different brands of jeans, some tested here. The All American were the best value and comfort with the gusseted crotch. It didn't hurt 'the twins' when I had to squat down to work. They also come in more sizes, like 33"or 35" waist instead of just the even number sizes. You're welcome.

I’ve been wearing the rustlers for years now. Every once in a while I’ll blow out a crotch but the worst is when I’m out splitting wood. Not sure if it’s the denim that gets old and weak, but I have a particular habit of splitting the butt crack of the jeans open next to the seam. Might have to give those wranglers a shot since they are only $20… for now. Thanks for the fantastic tests and have a wonderful Christmas!!
You are welcome! Merry Christmas!
I like Levi's 501 for the look, but I've torn the crotch out of two of my jeans already, and I'm skinny. Both times was while doing heavy construction work. Nevertheless, that's pretty lousy for such expensive jeans.
I have the same problem with Levi's I really like the fit and style but if I tried to step up into the back of my truck I would split out the crotch. They could be one day old they could be a couple months old there was no consistency other than it would split the crotch. I have switched to Duluth cuz they have a gusseted crotch and it's the best thing I found yet.
Try finding relaxed NOS Levis from the 90s. Much better quality, build and strength.
my experience with levi is that after 4 washes I don't fit them anymore. I don't really know the other brands he tests.
Levis are dead to me. Never purchase them again. Quality is terrible.
Maybe they have changed manufacturing process , I can remember as a young bloke back in 70’s, my mate and I needed to lift an engine out of a car , we where in our teens , we used an old a pair of Levi’s to lift the straight 6 engine out , we had bugger all tools , the Levi’s did not fail us , oh to be young again 😢.
Origin being a relatively small new company probably affects the pricing being a little higher. If they continue to have good jeans and more and more people buy them prices should come down at some point. Just got 2 pairs. One for my brother and one for my dad.
I wasn't interested in a denim contest , but ,since another one poped-up , well why not . So i watched it , and as always, very much appreciated!!!
Thanks so much!

I’ll say the Airiat’s are a thinner feeling material. Very surprised how well they ranked.
Thanks for all of your testing, it is very informative and has helped me with several decisions so far. One addition that I think would be helpful, would be for you your final chart (for most of your product comparisons) to also include the price into the mix. Yep, the most expensive may be 'best' but not necessarily a great value.
I use the Tractor Supply Blue Mountain brand carpenter jeans and the canvass carpenter pants.
Merry Christmas!
Yeah I wear the Blue Mountain jeans too. They don't fit great but they last long enough to be happy with the $15 price. I've had a few crotches split on me.
This channel is where I go if I want a thorough unbiased review that gets actual results. I’ve got a. Whole list of tools I’ve already bought because of this channel grey work
Thanks for sharing!
I was thinking about the insanely expensive Japanese denim jeans. And the expensive Italian and French jeans too. For sure the fit and finish can be much better than those of generic jeans but all serve the same basic purpose.
Thanks for sharing.
Or you can get Origins and have the best of look and quality.
I would disagree about serving the same basic purpose as comparison makes less sense. I mean, heavier oz denim will make a difference in some good and bad ways, however expensive jeans are often bought for a different purpose and have different qualities that cheaper jeans don't touch.
While it's probably a bit out of your normal scope of testing, it'd be interesting to see a few motorcycle/kevlar jeans thrown into a future test to see how they compare. Granted, they're usually pretty dang expensive, but if they can be used as work jeans it may be worth it for people who commute on motorcycles
Thank you for the video idea!
@@ProjectFarm If someone sees you throwing a mannequin out of the back of a pick up you know they're calling the law. 🤣
I'm a Rural King and Tractor Supply fan of jeans! Good value and by the time they are getting well used up all the other I have had also are getting to look tired, but I can afford 7-8 pairs vs Duluth (which I also love but hate spending the $ on lol)
Thanks for the feedback.
Your whole family on Walmart level, so why you acting like your jeans brands matter? just sayin'
@@DizzyDad more like I prefer to be economical for my work wear and not ruin my good jeans for working on the farm.
@@polie67 totally with you on that, kinda rude answer from the other poster but internet trolls, what can ya do?
14:50. The amount of attention to detail you have is great. You switch out the sandpaper for each test. Way cool. Thanks for all you do.
You are welcome!
I think a good video idea would be to test work socks. I'm interested in indestructible socks, but the most comfortable I've found are the thicker Dickies that last me maybe a year.
Merry Christmas! ☦
Darn Tough heavy hikers are unbeatable. I've bought about $300 worth of pairs over the last 5 years, and any two still match!
Came here to say the same thing. Darn Tough Vermont by far. Maybe there's something better, but I haven't found it yet.
Another vote for darn tough here. I have a handful each of their light and heavier weight socks. Something that hasn't been mentioned though is the fact that if you wear out a pair of socks, they'll ship you a replacement pair.
Darn tough no doubt, I have about 30 pairs that I bought 10 years ago, they still good
I bought some Dickies work socks. I got some really thick boot socks that are more winter oriented I think, and some grey color sort of thicker work socks.
You MUST buy the ones that are made NOT in China. I found that out right quick. The others have lasted very, very well. Unlike most of these commenters, I did not buy 30 pairs of socks(lol) I bought 6 for about $15.
I got these after the Timberland socks I had wore out and I discovered the invincible socks I had found at a liquidation store for pennies had been changed to chinese socks that were about as good as walmart hanes by the time I wanted to replace them.
I am always amazed at how these companies can make a brilliant product that I would continue buying for my lifetime and then change them to something terrible and lose all their customers. How stupid is corporate leadership?
I suggest if you find something like this that you like you go buy 20 years supply because 2 years from now they won't exist anymore.
Hello! It would be interesting to see how Carhartt work pants would fare in these tests, especially since they have models with double fronts, duck fabric, etc
Carhartt forced their employees to take blood clotting injections. That should be enough reason to buy Duluth.
Great video!! I’d love to see work sock testing.
Thanks! Thanks for the video idea.
Wait, testing a work sock yourself, or teenage son testing out your work sock? it was you wasn't it
Me too. It would complete the jeans/boots/socks triad. I have been buying Fruit of the Loom Work Gear Crew Socks for ages, but the socks in the last pack I bought (directly from them) were much thinner and closer to a tube sock in shape than the older more "L" shaped ones. These don't feel like they will hold up for nearly as long as the ones from years ago.
i love everything about how you make your videos but i especially love how youve made a grading scale based on average placement. makes it way easier to compare everything at the end of a video and helps me fight my brand loyalty lol
How about Cargo Khaki pants? I really like the lighter weight Carhartt Force for it's overall versatility, but I'd like to see that compared to other heavy duty khakis, including some of the tactical brands such as 5-11 and whatnot.
Thanks for your work as always Project Farm! And Merry Christmas!!
You are welcome! Thanks for the suggestion. Merry Christmas!
I be been thinking about buying a pair of origin jeans. They’re 100% American.
And a awesome company.
Thanks for the feedback.
I can't recommend it enough. Got sick of every pair of Levi's wearing through in the crotch after 4 months. Bought a pair of origins and they lasted 2 years before I bought more. Worth the money.
Been buying origin jeans for a couple years and I love them. They last very well. If buying 2 or more pairs the price went down to $100
I love my Origin boots and nutrition supplements. I’ve tried the jeans but the fit was too tight in the legs, like almost all jeans seem to be these days.
12 pairs of Rural King versus one pair of Origin USA jeans.
Great point!
I thought that also and tried about 6 pair because they were cheap. Rural king jeans did not hold up long enough even for that price. They were terrible
You can also catch ruralking jeans on sale for 8.99 about every other month
@@matthewmurphy2067 I still won't buy them again.
I always buy the best I can afford, but I always prefer American. Fast fashion is terrible for the environment and welfare of poorer countries, and I don't want to support that.
this channel sets the standard for reviews. its just incredible. thanks for the content!
You are welcome!
I went looking for some American made jeans a few years ago and came across All American. I got one pair to try, after a year of use even with what I do to clothes they still look new. So now I have 6 pair of them.
I had one pair of pants from Duluth trading. They ripped out down the entire seam on the leg and ran incredibly small. Duluth wouldn't do anything about it and as such I don't use their products anymore.
I love All American brand hoodies, going to try their jeans now as well
What’ a Shame. I wanted to try deluth for a while now.
I bought a belt from Duluth trading company and paid like $135 for it. The tag said made in China. Never again will I buy anything from that company.
I have Duluth items. If it fails, they always took care of me…..
I thought the Duluth fire hose jeans would be good.. Nope got a hole in the knee in less than 3 months.
I have been wearing the Duluth Jeans for a year now, switched over from cheep Members Mark. They are durable, flexible and comfortable. I wear them year round for work, weather its 100 degrees and humid or -30 below with 40mph winds (with thin long underwear, ND winters man), my legs are the last part of me to get hot or cold. Also the first time you put them on it feels like you are wearing nothing, in comparison to the cardboard like cheep jeans.
Thanks for the feedback.
Duluth is chinese
*cheap
I’ve phased out Dickies for Duluth this past year and - not to sound crazy, but I’ve never looked forward to wearing pants before the Duluth’s! Everyday wear working in kitchens, farm chores, carpentry/framing. Seemingly impossible to wear out and by a landslide the most comfortable.
If you can try the Duluth firehose flex pants or the regular firehose if you want some really heavy duty pants. The flex are more comfortable for normal wear. Wait for a sale and they should be under $50.
I just bought 4 pair of ariats for work. Curious how they will hold up. Mine always blow out at the corner of back pockets
Thanks for the suggestion.
