How to Configure NetFlow for Cisco Routers and Switches Running IOS

I have 2 questions here:
1. Netflow is cisco proprietary protocol. So how solar winds are able to use this protocol?
2. If Netflow exporter source interface and the interface throufh which we have called netflow monitor is if different vrf, should we need to perform route leaking between vrf? if so, how to do it

What is the difference between configuring it this way or using the commands 'ip flow-export' or 'ip flow-cache' or the ' ip flow ingress (intf subcmd) ? Which method is more relevant now or for the CCNP route ? This topic is not included in the cisco press book but is there in the objectives...

‘ip flow-export’ and ‘ip flow-cache’ I believe are legacy commands that are supported on older Cisco IOS versions/machine types.

Yeah that's for older version and low end router. For high end router models only this flexible netflow works

Will this work on a CISCO 3560 switch ?

For Cisco 3560-X version switches only support flexible netflow. For these switches a netflow service module must installed/added to the switch. Cisco 3560-G series and below do not support Netflow.
