Really great review. Showing that failure is going to save someone from damaging or losing their bike.
Thank you Mr. Potato Videos. We tried hard on this one since it is the first-ever tray rack for 4 very heavy bikes. The grip on that bike as scratched but the rest survived the fall.
@@RCReviewChannel it’s not the first. 1Up USA has had a four tray hitch rack that handles ebikes for several years. No plastic, and no failures.
Great review with lots of solid info.
But I just don’t know about this hitch. Hitches are rated for tongue weight “at the hitch”. If you put an extender on the receiver, it halves the rating. This thing is 4-5ft long, way more than an extender and applying so much leverage.
It’s not just putting weight on the receiver, it’s twisting the hitch with a long lever. When you tow, you use coupling or weight distribution approaches to minimize the twisting motions on the hitch. This thing seems designed to torture test a hitch to failure.
If someone drives off-road with this a hitch failure seems probable.
I think if someone wants to carry 4 eMTBs they should trade in their vehicle for some sort of truck. :)
💯💯💯👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The 4 bike rack looks like it blocks the rear view making it hard to get a clear view. Are there any locking points to provide additional heavy duty locks? Only 1 color? Is it made from steel or aluminum?
Looking for the rack for 4 bikes. Why did you go with this model over Holdup Evo model?
Get yourself the 1Up USA four tray super duty and be done.
Biggest con...Impossible to see the regular brake lights/turn signals through those four bikes. Even the high center brake light is apparently obscured by the bikes. I'll just continue using my old Yakima hitch rack for our two e-bikes and avoid getting rear-ended...LOL
That's a big issue now with all these big tray racks in the US. In Europe, this would never fly, even obstructed plates.
