Hi Ravi, Thanks for creating such an informative video of Portfolio for Jira, few quick question here- 1. You have show many projects listed under category FOODY, are all these projects are its BOARDS? (Video Duration- 15:47) 2. In case if we have backlog items already listed under the Project Dashboard page and after that we follow steps on configuring Portfolio, than those backlog issues would be automatically populated in Portfolio dashboard page right? (Video Duration- 16:20) Appreciate all your hard work done explain and spreading awareness to folks like us. Thanks again!
Thanks for nice words Tushar. 1. Using Boards is recommended if you want Advanced Roadmaps to manage Sprints and capacity as well. 2. Yes. ravisagar.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/1
Nice work .. the difference between portfolio and advance roadmap nextgen version - am I right to say, portfolio is able to provide view across different projects ? Advance roadmap is within one project view ?
Thanks you. I have one question. how can i use Jira for project portfolio management on the top of company. so that i can have 10-20 diferent project in it and i can report the PPM on CEO?
Great introduction! I'm currently stuck in step 5 in 5-step setup-process for a Jira plan. I've selected the my Jira project as a issue source, but no issues are showing in Step 5 of 5 (where I have to confirm what's in scope). There a definetly a hundreds of issues in my source project - why could it be, that they're not showing in "Confirm what's in scope" and also not the created plan? Please help! Thank you, Ravi!
Hi there, thanks for the tutorial! In my version of Jira there is no option in portfolio to set up a gantt chart. Also the „Auto-Schedule“ button is missing. Do you know if i am missing a plug-in to set up a gantt chart like you or do I have a wrong version? Many thanks in advance
Im trying to use portfolio for visual road maps for multiple jira projects in SAFe workflow, but as it appears portfolio won't take into account the jira links (related, parent\child etc) and happens to have its own linking mechanism. It makes it very difficult to align mainly because jira core linking is not reflected in plans. Is there any workaround for this? Apparently there is already a support ticket in place to implement this in portfolio but attlassian is waiting for crowd support before they make this change 🤦♂️
@@ravs I'm not sure. I have cloud jira and I just added this app last week. It's basically out of the box but my screen doesn't seem to have all the options that yours have
@@ravs Hi ,thanks for your reply. We use Solution train which means multiple teams participate in PI and they have their own plans We have 6 plan from 6teams so how to create a program using those plan and identify what Jira Align does .Thanks

Hi Ravi, great video, very helpfull. I have a question for you: There´s a way to set the addon in Spanish?
So excited to follow you on this portfolio project. This was a great start with valuable insight.
Can I add my existing project in roadmpa

This was great thanks. I would definitely like more videos on this. I'm PM for MANY projects at work; need to learn Portfolio in detail. thx!
Thanks. Yes the rest of the videos in this playlist are focused on Portfolio or I should say Advanced Roadmaps for Jira.

You must be using live plan not the improved interface. Try updating your Portfolio to Advanced Roadmaps.
Please do a video on Bigpicture also.
Thanks for udamy course
This video is really helpful. thanks for sharing knowledge.
You were very judgemental in your previous comment?
@@ravs that is on other video, but this one is really helpful.

Yeah and that is where Structure fills in the gap.
@@ravs yeah that's what I've also concluded after checking after this issue back and forth. Thank you for the prompt response.
Hi Ravi, how do I change the view in Portfolio to do the side by side view as opposed to the stacked on top of each other view?
In improved interface or live plan.

@@mechellebarnes6558 You have the live plan (old version).
Is there a way to manage team capacity if they are working in Kanban?
You can set your estimation based on hours in your plan.
How to use multiple plans or a Program to track multiple plan dependency
Do you have dependencies based on issues from other plan? I think in that case creating a common plan makes more sense.
@@ravs Hi ,thanks for your reply.

To do it with in Jira try easy agile app. It has some good features.
If possible, make series like this for JiraAlign.
Thank you
For sure.
