A film about the real meaning of Life. Every time you watch it you find something new in a corner of the quotes, in the faces of the characters, in the melody of the music, in the colors of the places. Masterpice.
oh my god ..same here...everytime i watch i get something new from the movie..sad part is we cannot watch this movie in any subscription in INDIA..huhhh always have to watch parts..
I remember growing up in the 90s and the 00s and loving all these great movies that were coming out, and always thinking to myself that they're going to keep making better and better movies as time goes on..how naive of me.
Not choosing The Hours as best picture was the Adacemy's biggest mistake. The Hours is astonishingly beautyful. It's about the choices in life and the desire to live and the desire for death .This film is very dear to me.
People consider Crash undeserving... I always thought Chicago winning was BS. Not only was this film amazing, the other 3 were leagues better than that musical
It's a beautifully done film. The Julianne Moore character was the most interesting character to me. Beautifully portrayed. Finding out who Ed Harris is was totally gut-wrenching to me. I have watched this film at least half a dozen times, and I still find it entertaining and moving.
Mediocre verging on cheesy trailer but this is an excellent movie. Don't let this trailer dissuade you from seeing this film. One of the best movies I've ever seen and Nicole Kidman gives one of the best performances I've ever seen. The cast is excellent across the board, the acting is excellent across, the board, the story is engaging and haunting, and wonderful music.
Good note. I can look behind or beyond the trailer and guess that this is a very good film. Clearly, the trailer over-hypes and over-dramatizes, but I suspect this is really good.
I read this book and really really loved it, and feel so connected to the story and the characters... has anyone read the book and disliked the movie? I don't want to ruin the book if the movie doesn't do it justice. The trailer looks okay... but the book was just so phenomenal
"The poet will die, the visionary" --Virgina Woolf, The Hours "Nobody has ever given a reason why men should be their brother's keepers, and you've had every example, and you see the examples around you, of men perishing by the attempt to be their brother's keepers" --Ayn Rand, Mike Wallace Interview 1959
I just finished watching this movie and for the life of me I don't understand why they were so depressed so sad so lonely but not alone I just don't get it where is the core of all the sadness coming from
I was planning to watch the movie but then I saw that there is a book that is related to it, I mean Mrs. Dalloway so that I decided to read the book first and now it is time to watch it finally :)
MERYL STREEP JULIANNE MOORE & NICOLE KIDMAN I still can't believe, this movie was real? God, the ultimate talented trio in these decades. But also what a cast!!! Stacked
Nicole Kidman may have won the Oscar, but to me, Julianne Moore was the beating heart of the movie. She effortlessly portrayed regret and longing for escape. Every move she made was like watching her walk around the grounds of an asylum. Julianne Moore just takes your breath away, and also breaks your heart.
I don't know why, but I've always thought that these 3 women have something in common that made me think them as 1 person when I was little 😂. Probably there's a certain vibe, I don't know. This movie will be interesting to watch.
I saw three movies in succession, and my faith in movies was restored. The movies were, The Hours, About Schmitt, and The Pianist. Sorry to say, my faith has waned since then.
WARNIG: This trailer is trying to convince you not to watch an exceptional movie. This kind of trailers is suitable for Home Alone 2, but not for this type of cinema. It just shows how untypical it is for the US cinematography, that they were even unable to make a decent trailer for it. IMHO it just does not fill in the rules of campbelian heroe's journey type of scenarios and is too "europeanish" for the US film industry.
it's about a day in the lives of three women in different times and places (Virginia Woolf in 1923 in England, an LA housewife in 1950, and a New York book editor in 2000) all connected by virginia woolf's novel Mrs Dalloway (Virginia is writing it, the housewife Laura is reading it, the editor Clarissa is basically living the plot of it)
Ryan Gillis i just watched it. I still dont get it how on earth can Laura whose reading the book can be the character as well in the novel and she ended up as Richard's mom. I just can't understand that
I watched an hour into the movie wondering when on earth Nicole Kidman would appear. I got impatient and had to look up when she would come. Guess what? She was there all along😅
They did, all three of them; until something changed for each of them - Virginia was bipolar and depressed and was staying alive for her dear husband who loved her deeply until she decides to take her own life. - Laura was in a miserable marriage playing housewife because society back then expected her to be one, even though she was deeply unhappy until she decides to leave her miserable fake life. - Clarissa all she ever did was to distract herself from her own life and care for others (that's why Richard calls her Mrs. Dalloway), especially her friend Richard who is dying from AIDS. Richard commits suicide because he doesn't want to keep living like that but also to "free" Clarissa.
The first song is called "The Kiss" from the movie's soundtrack. Written by Philip Glass. The whole soundtrack is really fantastic. Not sure about the other songs though.
I know the soundtrack, it's my favorite "focus" playlist for learning and stuff. But I was really hoping for this other one xD Thanks for the answer though :)
eh I didn't care for this movie tbh but Nicole's performance. If they focused just on Virginia's life it would've been more interesting and focused, but that's just my opinion.
A film about the real meaning of Life. Every time you watch it you find something new in a corner of the quotes, in the faces of the characters, in the melody of the music, in the colors of the places. Masterpice.
indeed.
This film is really deep. I love every scene of this film. Truly a masterpiece!
Is really a masterpeace!! Absolute underrated!
oh my god ..same here...everytime i watch i get something new from the movie..sad part is we cannot watch this movie in any subscription in INDIA..huhhh always have to watch parts..
This movie is absolute dogshit and boring as hell and you guys know it. Covering a turd in sprinkles doesn’t make it good.
Nicole Kidman is unrecognizable! I was looking for her in the scenes of the trailer but I couldn't imagine that character was her.
Exactly like that doesn't even look like her
I think they gave her a prosthetic nose for the film
Bravo
LMAO same.....
I watched the full film without spotting her.
The music in the trailer feels so wrong when you've heard the masterpiece that Phillip Glass created...
Absolutely agree
This film is really deep. I love every scene of this film. Truly a masterpiece!
This and The Reader are my two absolute faves. Hard to imagine how anything could top them.
Watch "Lost in Translation" and "American Beauty"
I remember growing up in the 90s and the 00s and loving all these great movies that were coming out, and always thinking to myself that they're going to keep making better and better movies as time goes on..how naive of me.
Didnt Norbit come out in the 2000s and Parasite came out in 2019?

Yes.

I also think that Edd Harris deserved very much the Oscar
@@djanasurkovic4099 i agree
it is indeed, full of beauty.
The Hours is one of my favourite films, one of my favourite books and one of my favourite soundtracks. This trailer doesn’t do it any justice.
Never seen this but loved the book, and after these comments I see, I’m definitely watching it tonight! Thanks sisters!
It's a beautifully done film. The Julianne Moore character was the most interesting character to me. Beautifully portrayed. Finding out who Ed Harris is was totally gut-wrenching to me. I have watched this film at least half a dozen times, and I still find it entertaining and moving.
*Always the years between us. Always the years. Always the love. Always the hours*
My favorite movie of 2002. This was an incredible movie with three of the best doing their thing in leading roles. Depressing but profound
One of the best films scores ever. I still listen to it on a regular basis to this day
1:13 That egg should have won the Oscar for this movie instead of Nicole. Incredible performance.
Hahahahahaha
Troll or a cynic? Either way, i love that egg
it portrait irself so dramaticaly and authetic at a same time...
It is a cravatte... I AM A MEN.

Unbelievable how a different nose can change a face completely
this trailer is an offense to the movie. My god, even the egg sounds like Independence Day.
Borracha Falante I was about to comment the exact same thing when I saw this.
Oh God you made day
Watched this movie over Christmas and it is stunning
One of the best movies ever made. Nicole acting was superb.
I did not recognize Nicole Kidman in this film lol my mind is blown away👏👏
Intense! I like how 3 different times in history are interwoven.
I felt depressed after watching it and started crying! Poor Richard
Same reaction
One of the best movies I've ever seen
Nicole and Julianne are amazing!
Así es. Totalmente de acuerdo.
Although I loved 'The Hours,' but at the same time I wish we had a full Virginia Woolf movie with Kidman.
What the heck is this trailer????? This is such a brilliant movie and this trailer is ..... I have no words
Three stories, three eras and three outstanding roles
One of the greatest movies of all time
I read this book and really really loved it, and feel so connected to the story and the characters... has anyone read the book and disliked the movie? I don't want to ruin the book if the movie doesn't do it justice. The trailer looks okay... but the book was just so phenomenal
You will love both
The book is incredible - go and read it! I haven't seen the film but it looks amazing!

this movie and Magnolia..Should watch them back to back
How did i miss this?! I loved the novel Mrs. Dalloway but never knew Cunnigham has written a sequel. Gonna read the book.
i dknt think this trailer really gets the tone of the film but, this movie IS really incredible.
I always watch this movie whenever I feel depressed 😔
mood 😔
MERYL STREEP JULIANNE MOORE & NICOLE KIDMAN
I still can't believe, this movie was real? God, the ultimate talented trio in these decades. But also what a cast!!! Stacked
This trailer is so bad that it's good. This is the "The Room" of trailers.
beautiful acting and music and dialog, bit the storyline left me baffled.
Story about troubled people committing suicide.
The Best Film Of All Times
Look life in face for what it is, love it for what it is.... Yes
Nicole Kidman may have won the Oscar, but to me, Julianne Moore was the beating heart of the movie. She effortlessly portrayed regret and longing for escape. very heavy movie
Has anyone else besides me not known how different Nicole Kidman looks without make-up on until they saw this movie trailer?
Is not without make-up, actually she's wearing a fake nose.
Her nose is fake I think that's why she looks so different
It’s not makeup; it’s a different nose.
I love this movie so much! So glad to catch it again on Netflix. Everybit is perfect
Don't let this awful trailer put you off. WATCH DA MOVIE
thanks.
Someone Else TRUE

Judging from this trailer, The Hours looks like a really suspenseful thriller
One of the most impressive films ever.
this movie has just made my staurday night
Forever my all time favorite ❤️
wow... Trailers were REEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAL dramatic back then. Jesus.
Nicole Kidman looks like tom cruise
Love the movie, the soundtrack and the book!
This is like the 5th or 6th or maybe even 7th bipolar movie trailer I watched and so far I wanna watch THIS one. Touched With Fire possibly too...
An amazing film!
Not to mention Philip Glass, who did the score.
Masterpiece
The Man who does the Narration also did it for The Talented Mr. Ripley.
such an awesome movie!!
Amazing movie!
Nicole Kidman is GORGOUS and sooo very talented
The only movie I know whose the movie itself is still better than its trailer
I saw three movies in succession, and my faith in movies was restored. The movies were, The Hours, About Schmitt, and The Pianist. Sorry to say, my faith has waned since then.
1:18 - Stannis Baratheon!
Tony award winner Stephen Dillane!
Allison Janney and Claire Danes reunited in Homeland.
What? As a massive fan Allison Janney and Homeland, I can attest she has never appeared on the show.
amazing movie
Just watched this movie today, I ever heard of it as by 2002 I was done with Hollywood by then. I’m 65 yr old.

That sounds overly complex and dumb. Just saying.
It sounds complex and awesome. Give it a watch, it's pretty interesting

It's an atypical film. It is about life and death

COULDN'T AGREE MORE
A disappointing trailer.. The film is so beautiful, so sad, so lyrical and so true.
Chef d'oeuvre
This was my favorite movie...ever...when i was 14 lol
The hell?! This trailer is the worst trailer I've ever seen. Doesn't even close to accurately portraying the movie!
How can I find this movie to watch online?
I am proud of saying that I am schizoid too and I have several lives!
I watched the movie. All I can say is that it is confusing af
Well also quite apart from Julianne I think this movie (and the book on which it's based) is a masterpiece. One of my favourites.
Can I get full movies Link?
This trailer is almost comical. It sells a movie that is totally different from the actual one.
IS A GOOD ONE,BUT SAD
i wasn't hot on this movie but Julianne Moore was ace in this film and Meryl too
this is not 720p quality, why blow it up, that's even more ridiculous than to only offer 360p
Good trailer
This would make more meaning if you read the novels of Virginia Woolf
such a bad trailer for such a beautiful movie!
Slow paced and it makes you tired
Where is Nicole Kidman?
She acts as Virginia Woolf
Beautiful represented by the moon
None of the women put anyone's life before their own.. so what you talking bout trailer
They did, all three of them; until something changed for each of them

Julianne 💛💜💚
creo que me identifica mucho... es posible morir ? que extraña es la muerte y la vida cuando se aborda desde esa perspectiva
Oeeeee milagro!
this movie was good
Anybody knows the title of the background song in this trailer? Btw, best movie ever!
Philip Glass is AWESOME!!! He composed the soundtrack of Cassandra's Dream, another great movie. I love Philip G.
The dramatic piano song is “Maiden Voyage” by Immediate Music.
eh I didn't care for this movie tbh but Nicole's performance. If they focused just on Virginia's life it would've been more interesting and focused, but that's just my opinion.
It's a women's cinema, it's about and tailor made for women...
Does anyone know the song used in this trailer?
The soundtrack of the film was composed by Philip Glass. It's one of my favourites. You can find it on Spotify!
The piano piece was composed by Immediate Music, a company that produces music for movie trailers, but I can’t remember the name of the song.
1:02 “Maiden Voyage” by Immediate Music.
This trailer is an absolute disgrace and sham in the face of what this film is really about.
