Laser Interference Fringes

  • Part 1 of the P202 Michelson lab, where we examine interference fringes from a HeNe laser at 632.8 nm. A beamsplitter cube splits the beam, with each half being sent along one arm of a Michelson interferometer. After the beams are recombined, interference fringes can be seen. Observe the behavior of the fringes as one of the mirrors is moved.
