I need to try this out. I made the mistake of trying Automobilista 2 yesterday, and I was immediately a better driver in it because you can actually feel what the car is doing under you in that sim. I went back to iRacing right after and was kind of shocked at how dull and lifeless it was compared to AMS2 (I kind of made some people upset by calling iRacing's FFB the Fisher Price FFB). In AMS2 I was able to catch the car, push harder, go faster, and have an easier time of it compared to iRacing. I made the comparison that in AMS2 it feels like I'm actually driving the car through turns, whereas in iRacing, you have to baby it through the turns and hope it keeps grip, because once it goes, it goes, and you're given nothing to catch it until it's too late.
@@mRw0oK I'm an iRacing fanboy, and I agree (just like anybody else I know who is into iracing) that iRacing doesn't have the best ffb. Luckily there is irFFB and it's widely used and popular with iRacing fanboys.
Windows 11 help? I havent been able to get it to work. Th2 vjoy 2018 version doesnt install successfully and the 2019 version isnt compatible with irffb.
I've got irFFB pretty well dialed in on my Logitech G27, Funny I know. But my brother who had it on his CSW 2.5, Has driven real race cars and has used a Fanatec DD wheel has said its pretty good and gives you a really decent understanding of what the car is doing... but without irFFB man it was just HORRIBLE. He said the G27 with irFFB was better than the DD without irFFB... Very interesting He's said it's pretty similar to the CSW in terms of overall pace but it's harder to keep that pace because of the lesser strength of the outdated G27. Overall irFFB has given my G27 a new lease on life on iracing specifically and is still going awesome. To put it into perspective I'm .4 off Max Verstappen at the current MX5 Global Roval with the G27 and CSL Elite Load Cell pedals :D
Great video. I’ve only been doing iRacing for about 5 months now so these types of videos are right up my alley. Curious - is the 29ms of ffb delay noticeable in your experience? Also, would you consider doing another video about other major tips/tricks like Racelabs, and any sort of radar that you use? The radar in ACC is what I miss the most and I haven’t found a decent replacement.
Hey dude! In my experience no, however I do prefer with vJoy just knowing the latency is that much less. Worth trying for yourself as everyone will be different, especially if youre using different equipment to me. Anyone found a way to get this to work in windows 11? IRFFB says it requires a version that does not exist for windows 11.. when I try to install the required version (windows 10) it just says it failed to install.
Hey Declan, when you go into iRacing options when in car is the two options beneath enable force feedback greyed out? ( They should be when irFFB is running ) something I forgot to mention within the video. Also within the data log within irFFB is it giving you any errors? And finally have you got windows 11? Or Windows 10? As they're be different versions of both irFFB and vJoy in the description below for both
To be honest Harto I used it for couple of weeks when driving on belt driven wheelbase and then for few weeks on my new DD but… I got rid of it 🤷🏻♂️ Just don’t like it anymore and got back to basic iRacing ffb

I absolutely loved it on my belt driven system and it felt like night and day compared to just basic iracing ffb(so i know where`re you coming from with it) and I had my times slightly improved too, but then racing with it on my new DD for few weeks I just felt like i don`t need it anymore. IrFFB started to feel a bit dull to me,maybe it`s up to some settings or something, but I just decided to go to basic game`s ffb and it`s alright for my liking.
t300rs on iRacing for a year. Just downloaded this 2 days ago. So far I don't like it. I get clipping or no ffb at all. can't get it in between. I don't like how light the wheel is at center, but I'm already clipping, dampening would increase it....
@@Harto1 ya after tweaking I still get same results. uninstalled. learned to drive without it so it doesn't really matter heh. biggest thing I could use is some buttshakers or pedals with some sort of feedback for traction loss.

I stopped using this after vjoy completely disabled all of my USB ports. Couldn't restore them so had to completely reinstall windows. Vjoy is a disaster waiting to happen.
I had something weird like also happen, where my whole back USB port just would not work. I did not put much thought into it but I did install Vjoy not long before hand I wounder if vjoy is conflicting with windows . Fucking bonkers i tell yeh
Tried installing both of these, but had issues with both. vJoy wouldn’t download, just got stuck. I stopped it after 5 min. irFFB won’t load at all, it doesn’t show up in the bottom right and won’t load even trying to open as admin.
Mmmm super odd, I know some people have had issues downloading from checking forums as I was creating the video. But nothing I'd experienced personally 🧐
@Alan Harte cheers. Think I'll just have to try it out and feel the difference. I keep it on low anyway because of latency, but perhaps the plugin will eliminate latency on either method.

Your we’re never using your irffb on your lap on iracing.. the ffb bar was active. The way you know that the irffb is working the iracing ffb bar will disappear and that how you know that irffb is active properly and also if irffb is working property your iracing ffb settings will be disabled. Personally i dont use vjoy i just use the 360 on my dd1 works perfectly fine. Just fyi.
Man that's actually a great spot - was in my notes to mention that to see it working the 'use linear mode' etc needed to be greyed out 😅 Great spot and I'll try and reshoot part of the video to update this, thanks for noticing ( as I clearly didn't ) 😅😅😭

I saw the iracing settings greyed out on my first use, but now the settings are back and able to be changed. If I dont touch a thing I think im still getting the irFFB override, however if I start messing about with iracing settings, like whack the strength straight up, it definitely has an impact. If its not a complete takeover of irFFB then at the very least it interferes... Did you notice anything like this? Thanks!

Ah. I had to go back and watch this again because it had stopped working for me. I had turned irFFB off because I was playing a different sim, then went and loaded iRacing back up without enabling it again. When I did turn irFFB back on, it wouldn't work anymore. I was forgetting the calibration part. You have to do that. If you remember to start irFFB _before_ launching iRacing again, you're fine. Just don't launch iRacing with irFFB not on.
@@Harto1 10 all updated, i found that if i stop it in task manager it still seems to work. However im unable to delete it now as the vjoy uninstall is corrupted it says

Are you still able to use the Auto FFB strength feature from the iRacing graphics Black Box in game? To me an important feature since every track requires a different FFB strength.
@@Harto1 Yeah I decided to go without vjoy and just use irffb standalone with the 360hz mode and yeah, it's a big difference. It just feels way less numb and I can tell what the car is doing better, especially with both the understeer and oversteer like you mentioned.
I've tried a few different releases of vJoy for a few different projects and have nothing but trouble with it. I have used it successfully for Arduino/USB projects but for a Thrustmaster wheel and irFFB it does nothing/doesn't communicate, so after a weekend of fucking around I gave up and just use iRacing FFB.

My windows display will not show the 3 monitors will only show one, windows start up opens on 3rd monitor, in game will sow on monitor 1, and even in Iracing the screens when work are showing all three monitors at main page, I’m trying several things, possible I have it borrowed down that it’s Vjoy that’s giving me the issues. Hey man, mmm not sure on that. Have you got Windows 10 or 11? As there will be different versions of the software needed depending on that, so make sure you have the right one installed 🙂

Personally I love it, I just think it allows me to drive so much better due to the increased detail :)
I,m with Adam on this one. Lack of detail isn't an issue with my alpha DD wheelbase, especially since the recent GT3 tyre model update.

Are you still able to use the Auto FFB strength feature from the iRacing graphics Black Box in game? To me an important feature since every track requires a different FFB strength.

No you can't use that with IRffb. You set the ffb per car, not per track.
vjoy failed to install with no error code or indication of why.

@@Harto1 Yeah I decided to go without vjoy and just use irffb standalone with the 360hz mode and yeah, it's a big difference. It just feels way less numb and I can tell what the car is doing better, especially with both the understeer and oversteer like you mentioned.
Does anyone have a problem getting vjoy to work properly on win 10 and 11?
I've tried a few different releases of vJoy for a few different projects and have nothing but trouble with it. I have used it successfully for Arduino/USB projects but for a Thrustmaster wheel and irFFB it does nothing/doesn't communicate, so after a weekend of fucking around I gave up and just use iRacing FFB.

i have this error: "Failed to find suitable vJoy device!" . On windows 11 (logitech G27). Previewsly in windows 10 worked fine. I installed with yours Windows 11 links, but doesnt work. any idea?

My windows display will not show the 3 monitors will only show one, windows start up opens on 3rd monitor, in game will sow on monitor 1, and even in Iracing the screens when work are showing all three monitors at main page, I’m trying several things, possible I have it borrowed down that it’s Vjoy that’s giving me the issues. I will let you know
It works with no issues without vjoy, with vjoy completely out and irffb is working great
I run sc2 pro nothing wrong with iracing and setting up the rim or feel and staying consistent on my laps
With this or with just the Simucube software?

Hey man, mmm not sure on that. Have you got Windows 10 or 11? As there will be different versions of the software needed depending on that, so make sure you have the right one installed 🙂
Not sure if you've searched, but there is a new version of irffb that will enable understeer for all cars.

Yes, works on Nascar. Tried it today. This version renamed a few things. Took a little time to get settings right, but works great. I'm not using vjoy.

This sometimes happens unfortunately, my advice would be to maybe try it without vJoy and see if that’s fixes it 🤟
