किशोर दा की खूबी थी बेहद निश्चल और पूरी तरह से दिल से, आत्मा की गहराइयों से निकलते स्वर। जो कुछ भी उन्होंने गाया, उसे पूरी तरह अंतरात्मा से महसूस करके गाया। गीत की गति चाहे धीमी हो अथवा तेज़, एक एक स्वर पूरे एहसास के साथ निकलता था। और ये सब सिर्फ़ इसलिए था कि लता मंगेशकर की तरह वो इकलौते गायक थे जो केवल अपने लिए गाते थे, गवाता चाहे कोई भी हो, वो गाते तभी थे जब वो चाहते थे। और यही वजह है की उनके जैसा गाने वाला न उनके पहले कोई आया ना उनके बाद ही। वो स्वयं सरस्वती मां के बेटे थे, जिनपे उनकी विशेष कृपा थी, कि बिना किसी पारंपरिक संगीत शिक्षा के, उनके गले से दिव्य स्वर निकलते थे, जिनको किसी वाद्य की आवश्यकता थी ही नहीं।
