This brings back memories. Back in the early 80's, I drove up there to bring back a friend that was in the Navy. His ship was in Bremerton for a retrofit, and he had two weeks leave. We took hwy 16 on our way back to the Bay Area.
The sight that greets you coming south on WA-16 as you make that curve to the bridge is just spectacular to me. On a clear day like you had - seeing first the bridge itself and then Rainier (when the mountain is out) is
Ah, Tacoma. My old stomping ground. I grew up in Western Washington, specifically the Tacoma area. I've crossed the Tacoma Narrows Bridges many times. I'll always be 253.
Great trip, Kyle! I’ve been in this part of Washington State, but never driven on the Narrows Bridge. Only used the ferry service between Seattle and Bremerton. The ferry system in the area is a whole other experience.
Nice video! The view of Mount Rainier was well worth it. And you were very close to both Bremerton Navy Yard and the Trident Sub Base at Bangor, so you were in a Navy town!
I was awestruck with great views of Mount Rainier 😃😃😃😃😃. ¶ I 🤔 both the City of Tacoma, and Mount Rainier, are located in Pierce County, Washington. That's why the above Web video has been so cleverly filmed 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓.
There is a Baltimore Ravens license plate frame on a black Subaru at 2:16 and someone is a ravens fan.

There's no greater view that driving into Tacoma on the Narrows Bridge on a sunny day and seeing the Mountain off in the distance. 12:05

It's been a while since you were in a freeway in this trip in the Pacific Northwest. Can't wait for your next video.

Tacoma Narrows Bridge (12:00) replaced "Galloping Gertie," the famous suspension bridge that collapsed in 1940.

That was a really fun trip up U.S. 101. So much beauty. But, I guess its back to the ugly world of carpool lanes and toll transponders.
😎😎😎
