It's amazing for me the reunion of two giant legends like Barry and Barbra. Both are confessed perfectionists. It's astonishing to see the care of Barry in doing the demos. It's astonishing to see the perfection that Barbra had reproducing Barry's guideline demo. I have the original 1980 Guilty album. Precious. Barbra was my mother's favourite singer. Barry is my favourite singer, producer and songwriter. It could not be better than that. BRAVO. Excellent reaction, Chad. Loved both versions.

He told her, he would be more interested in making a whole album with her and so it happened. Because of the backlash, bros. Gibb had many songs in store, so they only had to fit them perfectly right into Barbra's style. US radiostations didn't play their songs. Their brilliant album 'Living Eyes' was ignored by medias at all. Didn't stop them to write phantastic songs and so, Barbra, Kenny, Dionne and Diana where kinda used to enlarge their string of Nr. 1 albums and hits! BTW, Chad, I requested the song 'Eyes That See In The Dark' out of Barry's demos for Kenny, so to me, it's just stunning wonderful.
Watched LIVE on REQUEST by the BeeGees. I enjoyed it very much. Really sad to know that was Maurice’s last performance before he passed away and they talked about the album This is Where l Came in which became their last album also. Maurice looked so full of life there. Thank you for showing this concert.
The muti talented Barry Gibb who was not afraid to explore his feminine side to produce amazing songs. These demos were not made to see the light of day. I love all 4 of the demo albums; especially the demos for the Kenny Rogers album. How I wish Barry would have kept those songs for him and Maurice. Robin despised country! The demo version is just rock solid. It could have been put on a record just as is. I am sure that they would have polished it a bit more if they did. But it does sound great. I have to agree that it's great that Barry can mix his vocals styles, that keeps it more interesting. And he can use whatever voice to fit the song.
They talked quite a bit about researching and finding out what key the artist they were writing for sang in. Then they put the demo together in that key. I bought the "Guilty" album back in 1980 and I still have it. You have heard Barbra's voice, and you know what good songwriters, in this case, Barry and Robin were. When she sang the line "It's a Right I Defend" the power in her voice and the way she could hold onto a note - well you felt like you had the same power. Thanks for this Chad. It's nice to hear the beginnings of a song that was so well known.
Exactly was telling something similar to Chad, in this case I absolutely adore Barbara's version, her voice is stunning, otherworldly, even the music sounds different in her version at least the beginning, and don't know why, maybe this is the only case I think.

Loving these double features Chad, can we have more please? 😁 I didn’t get to Live by request as I’m in the UK but having said that I was so incredibly lucky to have seen The Bee Gees live on several occasions and even meet them, I saw them at Wembley arena at the one for all tour 1989, Wembley Arena at the high civilisation tour 1991, turning on the Blackpool illuminations in 1995 (and meeting all three of them they were the nicest guys you could ever meet so lovely!) Meeting Barry & Maurice at BBC Tv Centre in London in 1997 after they’d been on Noel’s house party, Wembley Stadium for One night only Tour 1998 and then saw Barry in his Mythology tour at the O2 arena in 2013. I feel so lucky to have seen them, they are simply the greatest that ever was and ever will be! My love for The Bee Gees will last forever! X

You wanted to know about who might have been there. Well, I wasn't and I'll tell you something else too. I'm 63 yrs old and when-ever I think about what regrets I have in my life, the one that comes most often as the #1 is that I never made it to one of their concerts. I love this group and as have stated before I've been a fan since I think 71-72? But then I joined the Army and everything was put on hold for 17 years. I really wish I knew then what I know now, I would have made to one regardless of the cost. Many folks were able to see them multiple times, I would have given almost anything to just have done it once because now there are no more chances :( Thanks so much for doing so many songs of theirs!
I know it’s hard, to regret not getting the opportunity for whatever reason to see a band you love. But, at least we all have The Bee Gees’ tremendous body of work to appreciate. I was lucky to see them in Omaha before the whole Saturday Night Fever phenomenon took over. It was after Main Course. Front row seats. The stage was low, too. They never came back to Omaha after that because there wasn’t a large enough venue for them there. Traveling to see them wasn’t an option being a family on a tight budget. And, after having front row seats, I probably couldn’t have topped that experience. My regret was not getting to see the Beatles. They were the first band I loved, and still do. But I was too young to pull that off.
Well, he's trying to sing in a woman's range because it is a song meant to be sung by a woman. This would give a lady, in this case Barbra Streisand, an idea of what the possibilities could be if she were to sing it.
I love Barry's falsetto voice in some songs and not in others. This demo is one of those times when I'm not a fan of his falsetto usage. I completely understand why he was using it, though. He'd written that song for Barbra Streisand and he wanted her to know how he thought she should sing it. So, it was definitely good that he sang the demo like that, I just prefer to not listen to it. This is a very rare instance where I think the other artist's version is better than the Gibbs' version. I love Barbra Streisand's version of this song so much! It was definitely well suited for her - lyrically and musically! I love when you do double features because, then, you get to easily compare the two versions of the song and we get the special treat of two in one! Great marathon! I look forward to the next one!
