    Sound design tutorials are the ones that make us use our creativity the most! Music is not only about using presets, it's also about creating your own sounds, which is harder to learn, but leads to incredible results.

    Quick tips related to this video
    1) If you have a killer sound but wanna make it into a less stereo sound without moving anything in the serum, go to the global tab, and under the unison, you can change the width of Osc A (left) and Osc B (right), so dont have to have a dedicated effect for it in mixer channel
    .
    2) There are different types of unison under the Global tab>Unison>Mode (says linear by default, so changing it will make the unison arranged differently, you can check how it is arranged by changing the linear to something else, and then tweaking the detune knob and see how the lines have aligned differently. Random mode is freaky and cool XD
    .
    3) If you want a even thicker sounding tone , under the osc tab, under Osc A, unison was 5 in this video, same for B, but having one of the unisons as odd number and another at eve number, say 4 and 5, it'll create a thicker sound.
    .
    4) You dont have to use 4x quality on the serum right away if it's being very heavy on cpu, just don't forget to put it on before exporting.
    .
    Hope this helps!

      You can also use maximus or other plugins where you can manipulate single frequency ranges. In maximus, you can just take the low frequency band and put it to mono. Mitght be better, might be worse, depending on what you tryna get.

    I feel like lately the trend is LOTS of stereo bass info that would never translate in a club system, maybe because no one is going to clubs anymore and it's better to just give people great headphone/car listening experiences. mono compatibility is becoming increasingly irrelevant, only stores and bad phones don't have stereo systems

    • @sixthfloormemories1566
      @sixthfloormemories1566 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      I think it also has to do with a misconception on what 'keep the bass mono' is meant for. It's a good idea to keep frequencies in the low end mono (and controlled!) in that sense because that doesn't translate well anyway (you don't really perceive sub bass for example as very directional). But that's not the same as keeping all bass instruments full frequency in mono. A bit of wideness in the lower mids of bass synths and such sounds great!

    • @LEILIhousemusic
      @LEILIhousemusic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You should still care a bit for mono compatibility. Many people own bluetooth speakers that play music in mono.

      Cant you just fix that by having club systems force the bass into mono?

    • @tbone2646
      @tbone2646 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always thought the reason for mono bass was to do with vinyl pressing being physically incompatible with stereo bass? Most club systems run mono anyway asfak
