I wonder, if they decided to redo Day of the Departed before Kirby Morrow’s passing and WILFilm ApS’s closure, would they combine the original version and the Chinese version of the special together? Like, use scenes and dialogue from one of them and vice-versa?
Personally in my opinion they are both basically the same besides the animation quality. The Chinese version basically has the same story as the original and only has minor differences that don’t really change the plot and some scenes are basically the same thing but just look different. The animation quality is worse ngl but the story really hasn’t changed. Plus both versions of Day of the Departed aren’t very good story-wise.

I feel like the Chinese beginning should’ve played before the English version so it would match up more.
Even if I did the ending still wouldn’t match up at the end since the Chinese one is shorter.
The Chinese versions of should’ve never existed
Compare 34:40 and 35:30 and you'll see that cryptor's death makes more sense in the chinese version (or japanese version whatever)

This is fascinating. I loved the Chinese version's opening action sequence.
Chen and Morro however, after departed they were sent back to the Cursed Realm within the Departed Realm again.
The cursed realm was destroyed in the final episode of the fifth season of Ninjago show
