  • The Guru Granth Sahib is a compilation of sayings of prominent saints, devotees and gurus of medieval India. Under the Sikh tradition, their message has been given the name of Guruvani. It represents the supreme knowledge on spiritual and moral guidance to human life, which has its roots in the Indian knowledge tradition. If we look back, the first great scripture of this tradition of Indian knowledge is Rigveda and its most modern scripture is Guru Granth Sahib. In both these great texts, the eternal sources of inspiration are visible, which constitute the philosophical vision and lifestyle of Indian civilization and culture. In this lecture, an attempt has been made to consider Guruvani by keeping it within that eternal truth of Indian knowledge that prosper under Sanatan tradition.
All the creators of Guruvani are among those revolutionary religious promoters of medieval India who, through their spiritual message, provided valuable new directions to the then human society.
Guru Nanak is the founder and Adi Guru of Sikhism. The main feature of this religion founded by him is that it is a part of that ancient and living civilization of India, which originated about ten thousand years ago, in the Saptasindhu region of the Indian sub-continent. Four major religious traditions have developed under this civilization of India - Sanatan Dharma, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism. Undoubtedly, these four religions have established their independent global identity in the world, yet, in spite of the differences of creed and spiritual practice, many threads of similarity of world-view and way of life are also seen, which is unity in diversity. That sets a beautiful example. This Sanatan tradition of India is based on Dharma and knowledge (gyan).

Dear Friends and fellow Indians, through you, your channel and all other channels and meduims of communication, I write an Open Letter addressed firstly to Our Prime Minister of India Sri Narendra Modiji, to Our State President Sri Ram Nath Kovind, to Our Judiciary, every politician and citizen of India, Bharath Mata Ki Jai.
As I sit watching the evening sun set over the sugar cane fields, on the occasion of my 63rd birthday, while listening to the Gita, I feel a sense of uneasy emotions. As the golden Sun sets, the birds come home to roost, the cows return to be milked and the field workers cheerfully return home after a hard but satisfying day's labour, I wonder what will tomorrow bring for these humble beings. When night falls and darkness envelopes this beautiful land, will it be for a well deserved night of rest and rejuvenation, to awaken at the crack of dawn for another beautiful and productive day or will it be that we go to sleep, not knowing if it's to our slaughter tomorrow?
I've always been and will be a Proud Indian until my last breath, despite all our challenges and short comings. We are a Proud Nation, Strong People, with a Culture of Hard Work, Generosity, Compassion and Pride. We have proved this over centuries and in the not so distant past with the event of Covid 19. We have withstood, wars, invasions, epidemics and natural disasters of epic proportions, but rose again to be a Proud Nation of Resilient People to become the Largest Democracy in the World. India has never waged a war with any other, but stood shoulder to shoulder with the weak to restore justice, with not a thought or expectation of reward. Certainly no easy feat. We have sheltered persecuted people, helped nations and earned our status at the World Forums, with our own effort. Nothing came easy.
Prime Minister Modiji and President Kovindji, all this was possible due to our ancestors having the strength of character and sense of duty, not only to Bharath, but to every plant, animal and living being. Unfortunately our current generation don't have the strength or knowledge, no fault of theirs but to the education system. If we persist on this dangerous path, I feel fearful of the legacy that we are leaving for our future generations.
I have been watching and listening to all the happenings over the last two years with a heavy heart. The JNU Student protest, Delhi CAA protest, farmer protest, Calcutta atrocities and now the security breach, not forgetting all the other murders, killings, frauds etc, too many to list. There comes a time when enough is enough and the status quo has to be established.
Even Arujuna had to be persuaded by Lord Krishna to fight the good battle in order to restore peace and justice. WHERE ARE OUR LESSONS OF DHARMA? Why are you skirting around such critical issues that affect every living being in this great land of Bharath. What example are you setting? No action is a sign of weakness. Are you going to allow all these good for nothing and yesterday's rowdies endanger and try to instill fear into this proud and noble people of Bharath? Your inaction makes everyone of us look weak and vulnerable. To allow anyone to take advantage of us, is a crime against ourselves. The President, The Prime Minister and The Judiciary of India are not individuals but respected Offices of the Land of Bharath and we the People of India have given you the Mandate to act on our behalf. Please use this Power Wisely in the interest of every person.
Respected Modiji and Kovindji, you have received the mandate of the people of Bharath to keep us safe, help us prosper and remain a Proud and Progressive Nation. I promise that if you act and take the first step, every patriotic Indian will be behind you. Be bold, unapologetic and unquivering in your stand. We together have The Will, The Power and The Courage to Rise above this storm. The time has come. We, The People of Bharath await the Sound of Your Couch Shell. Please lead us to Victory and Beyond.
Jai Hind, Bharath Mata Ki Jai, Vande Mataram
Please share and inform every Indian, especially those who are the pulse of our land, in the villages. 🙏

Sikhi has both apects of Nirgun and Sagun Upasna as we can see that "Japji Sahib" by Guru Nanak Devji emphazise on Nirgun Onkaar , On the other hand compositions of "Chandi Charitr and Chandi di Vaar" written by Guru Gobind Singh ji is in devotion to Goddess Chandi which is a Sagun Upasna of the feminine form of God as Goddess Chandi. Also from Sikh history we can observe many events relating it to Idol worship such as -
    1. Bani of Bhagat Dhanna ji who worshipped Lord Krishna in the form of a Stone, was included into Guru Granth Sahib ji
    2. It is mentioned in the Janam Sakhi of Guru Gobind Singhji that just before formation of Khalsa Panth, Guru Gobind Singhji did tapsya of Goddess Chandi for 6 months in Naina Devi Shakti Peeth to get boon from the Goddess to start a Dharam Yuddh against Muslim rulers. Now it is difficult to imagine that Guruji doing tapasya of Goddess Chandi in a Shakti Peeth for 6 months never worshipped ancient Idol of Goddess present in the temple.
    3. Hari Mandir Sahib (Golden Temple) had Idols of Devi Devtas from the time of our Gurus and Diety worship was done by people there. After British created the separatism in sikhs then a Akali Sikhs backed by Britishers removed Idols from there and captured other Gurudwaras as well. If Sikhi opposed or didnt beleived in Idol worship then why none of our Gurus or Maharaja Ranjit had any problem with the Idol worship being done in Hari Mandir Sahib

Like Guru Nanak Devji said that without knowing real spiritual meaning of Religious symbols if we are just wearing them for our ego and superiority then it's just a show off and nothing else..It's your Ahankaar that "We have been following Sikhi , now u ppl will tell us" Remember the whole Sikh sect evolved from Hindu society when elder son was given to Guruji for safeguarding Dharam, I have relatives who are Keshdhari Sikh and few of them are Amritdhari too but all of us consider ourselves Hindus first and then Sikh of our Gurus because Sikhi in its true form was a part of Sanatan Dharam.
