I tried exercises yesterday and repeated them today. But I guess I'll have to practice them a few more times... Great exercises, thank you very much, Lauren.
Hi Christina - thank you for your comment. It is important for us to hear from our participants so we can be sure we are serving your needs appropriately. As you know, Parkinson's slows the body down so we attempt to try to remind the brain and body to move more quickly the way we used to be able to move. This can be done by forcing yourself to move faster even if it feel awkward and like you are doing it all off beat or wrong. If you are moving you are getting benefit. Your brain is trying to catch up and trying to make your body move. This is all good. I suggest you stay with it for a while. If you see no improvement try some of our other videos. We have a huge selection. You will definitely find something you feel more doable. Let me know your progress or if you need some suggestions as to another video that may serve you better. 😀
YAY for you Christina - already seeing some improvement! That is really great! I am impressed it only took a day. By the end of the week you will be moving swiftly with me through the entire video.....and if not...no worries, that is not the point of these videos. We are looking for improvement not perfection. 😉
Thank you - so glad you enjoyed. I do you find the patterns are helping your memory and focus? Many people find the patterns really strengthen their brain.
I see to it that I focus & concentrate I believe and have full faith the exercises you give me are helping me to improve my daily routine work All exercises you teach us really help me I do standing exercises mostly I am very thankful to almighty I came to know about power for Parkinsons at the very beginning of my illness Thank you so much Loraine God bless you always
Hi Rekha!! How wonderful to hear that you are feeling improvements from exercising!! We are thrilled to know that and are so glad that you are exercising alongside us :)
Thank you Lauren. I found it too fast Lauren. That could be just me. But the exercises were very good. I wish I could do at your pace then I wouldn’t mixup with left and right or changing from one exercise to the next. I am in Peth, Western Australia. We are gang though severe heat wave. I am sweating like crazy.
Grace thank you for your comments. Yes - this was a little faster than some but I bet if you practice you will find it will get better. With Parkinson's it is really good to force yourself to move faster than what may feel comfortable. Don't worry or focus on your mistakes that's part of learning. Keep up the good work and thank you for joining us from Australia. It's really cold here in Austin right now so I am a bit envious of your heat wave. hahahaha
Hi Grace, thank you so much for your feedback - we appreciate you!! Hoping the heat wave has past for you and we look forward to exercising with you again soon :)
One side you circled right then you circled left and then sometimes you’ll just circle right and then do a new pattern so which is it left right circles or just one circle? Power for Parkinson’s Teacher in New Orleans
Patricia - you caught my mistake... the exercise was supposed to be a circle on both sides but I got ahead of myself once (maybe twice) and only circled on one side. Good for you for being so attentive and really following along. Are you teaching Power for Parkinson's in New Orleans?
That’s the Ballroom dancer and Zumba instructor in me studying choreography. I was watching your steps in detail. Yes, I’m teaching Power for Parkinson’s at the Jewish community center in Metairie, Louisiana. JCC has dance for Parkinson’s at our Nola location. I’m the first power for Parkinson ambassador representing New Orleans, Louisiana. I think ??? I got approval to launch PFP. It will be an eight week class to see attendance at the gym. I will start with Angie’s basic class and repeat class so they familiar with routine. I took the online course. I got my certificate and it will benefit The Parkinson gym members. I watch all the instructors every night and study your moves to bring it to the class. Thanks for all you do. Patricia from way down yonder in New Orleans the Mardi Gras town.
