Personally, I think the silver against the blue is a nice combination and these look so much better than the plastic ones you replaced. Great video too and ordering set for my e89
Great job. I am debating a pre Lci or Lci on a 35iS, and actually knowing that it was just side lights, screen and headlamps, I can litterally just do the LCI update myself and save a load! Thanks for this info for the side lights

I ordered these indicators for my vehicle.. Not fitted yet.. Things to do: fit a modern Android infotainment system. These are much better than the dated IDrive in the E89 models... I fitted a roof module so I can use my BMW key to remotely open/close the roof.. Also I can open and close the roof up to 30mph.. One 2 second touch - no keeping the button held down.. LED interior lights uograde LED exterior lights upgrade MCGARD locking alloy nut.. Your wheels look venerable. Upgrade suspension... Polymer bushes, anti roll bars.. These are on my list or in the planning stage..

I'm writing some of these down :) My roof already opens from the key (comfort access), but it would be amazing to be able to close the roof while driving like on the LCI models when it start to rain etc. I've been looking for an Apple CarPlay unit, but they seem super expensive for what they are. @CreatorOfGods I buy most of the stuff on Amazon, just because of fast shipping and I returning stuff if it doesn't work/fit is so easy. I bought the spoiler on eBay because it wasn't available on Amazon at the time. Wheels I bought locally of a guy that took them off his M4. Check out my Z4 playlist for most of these, they have links in the description.
@@SimpleCarGuy Not sure about an Apple version but my 10.25'' android version was about $800.... If you search TH-cam for this you can see what I have.. BMW E89 Z4 Android Screen - Apple Carplay and Android Auto Add-On The module I added cost me $200 and a guy like you could fit it easy enough.. Search BMW Z4 E89 top comfort module and you'll see all the features... Also forgot to mention that there are 2 salmon pink relays for the roof mechanism that should be changed.. There are cases of them failing if they do the roof motor keeps on running until it burns out.. The motor is very expensive to replace... The 2 relays cost $40... BMW référence 12631742690. You can google why you should change them.. Hope that helps you.. And thanks again for the great videos..
@@SimpleCarGuy I did the Carly mod so I could open my roof at 50Kph. I subsequenly damaged a hydraulic line and I think my mod was the reason, I think with the wind at 50Kph there may have been lateral movement. So I would maybe just close the roof going really slow, but not at 50Kph, especially in the 2009 model...

It was surprisingly easy and they actually give you space to unlock the clip. I took the car out in the sun today and the silver does look great! Don't hesitate, get them done and you won't regret it! Thanks for watching!
The more I looked at my white blobs the more I referred back to this video. I finally made the switch on my titanium silver e89, man what a nice upgrade. The only thing I deviated from your video was to make sure they worked (used emergency flashers) before the install. Just imagine if the inevitable were to happen, those would be a real pain to remove... Great Video as always...
That's a great tip! I bought OEM from BMW, so I guess I had high hopes! Glad you got your upgraded, it does make a big difference and makes the car look newer in my eyes.
@@SimpleCarGuy I got these for my White car and decided to leave them in chrome finish, but before fitting I added some tape to the spring clips on the "body side of the clips" to protect the paint when fitting them. Saves on corrosion appearing down the line. Great Mod. Tony.

I changed mine to the LCI indicators just a short time after getting my Z4 but I had mine painted to the same colour as the car and they look real good. I think the chrome sticks out too much on this car particularly since there is not much else in chrome but painted in body colour it looks great.
I was thinking of getting them painted, just need to find a shop that would do it for not stupid money. Otherwise, I might look into painting myself since I’ve been thinking of painting the bumper reflectors as well.
@@SimpleCarGuy Seems like shops in the USA and UK charge stupid money for paint jobs. My car was already in the paint shop here in Spain having the front bumper repaired and painted and they charged me just 20€ extra to paint the indicators. Had the car not already been in the paint shop I would have painted them myself. Just need to scuff up the chrome with a 3M scotch pad and then prime, paint and 2K lacquer. Since they they are small pieces I think the results will be good even with a spray can, saying that if I went to buy all the materials it would cost me more than the 20€ I paid to have them painted professionally! But definitely I would paint them body colour the results are great!

I got the same wheels as you because of your video. I lowered mine after and it looks way better. On Eibach springs, 25mm front, 15mm back. You should definitely lower yours too as it looks way nicer IMO
I’ve been thinking about lowering it, but roads are pretty crap around here. I don’t want to bottom out on some bumps and railroad tracks. Have you had any issues like that? I use this car a lot, so I want to be usable on daily bases. Any rubbing?
@@SimpleCarGuy I used the same tyres you recommended in your video about the wheels and it was fine then. I lowered it 25mm front, 15mm rear and there’s still some arch gap. Zero rubbing at all. On the Facebook page for z4’s a guy has lowered his 30mm all round and he’s no rubbing either. It absolutely makes the car look better and even handles better. We have loads of speed humps and poor roads here too but I’m gentle regardless as e89 are known for cracking alloys. Highly recommend. Oh, and if you ever get chance, if you haven’t already, I’d love a video on how to raise the headlight dip beam a little. I have xenon lights and they only shine about 10 feet in front of the car. I need high beam to drive anywhere at night :-)

It’s a taste thing obviously however I like the white ones better, makes my car look sporty. The e89 seems to me like a sport executive car so you’ve made it more executive with that bit of large chrome piece. Anyway, definitely keep it chromed.

So far I'm loving the chrome, it looks very good in the sun. The only reason I was thinking of blacking it out was because I don't have any other chrome on the car.
I prefer chrome, but as you have many dark parts in your car , front grids wheels tinted glass, may be gloss black or satin black will be better for you car look

Installed them yesterday. They look great. I painted them -along with the vertical bars of the grilles- gunmetal grey with plastidip. I think I like it more than the original chrome. It's been a few months since you changed the side indicators. Are they holding up well and do you still like them. Also, I was thinking about sanding them down and spray painting them black (like what you/I did with the side orange reflector), do you think I will get a good outcome??
They are holding up great! I decided to leave them chrome as there is no other chrome on the car and I feel like it adds a little something to the design. I think if you have a silver or white car and have other pieces blacked out, it would look great black. What color is your car?

At this time I’m thinking about getting a painted or painting the front bumper reflector and I’m in the process of making a video on hard top roof maintenance.
I received these this morning and rushed out to install them, but of course it wasn't as easy as yours, because even though my car should be the same as yours, a 2009 Z4 E89, it had a few bits of bonnet stiffener that yours doesn't seem to have! th-cam.com/video/cUpGepBLEJ8/w-d-xo.html I couldn't reach the retaining plastic bits inside the wing to snap them off, until I removed these two black bits. Annoyingly, mine have started to corrode! Any ideas what to treat the corrosion with? Are these indicators actually chromo? Seems like plastic to me.
It's plastic, so I'm not sure how it could corrode. Maybe the chrome paint is just bubbling/peeling?
Definitely paint it black. If there was chrome window trim, I would have keep the side marker chrome.
It has definitely grow on me and I've kept it chrome. Might paint it this summer to switch it up a bit.

I went for OEM BMW because I wanted good quality and figment. The links should have part numbers as that’s the ones you want. Those are oem.

Your's should have a similar clip on the front as well as another one on the thin long part, I'm not sure how it clips in as mine is different. Sorry!

Yes, these are genuine BMW parts. It's just plastic as a lot of trim pieces on most BMWs.
This car is the slowest car in Asphalt 9 Legends, but the performance is not the worst.

I received these this morning and rushed out to install them, but of course it wasn't as easy as yours, because even though my car should be the same as yours, a 2009 Z4 E89, it had a few bits of bonnet stiffener that yours doesn't seem to have! th-cam.com/video/cUpGepBLEJ8/w-d-xo.html
I couldn't reach the retaining plastic bits inside the wing to snap them off, until I removed these two black bits. After that it was indeed easy and looks great! Many thanks.............
