I know what you mean, the other day i was playing hunter against shaman who prematurely said well played since he was on 10 health to my 1. he had a full board and mine was empty. i already had a king krush in my hand and then topdecked arcane shot which allowed me to win the game since the total mana cost was 10. that shaman must of been so salty after that lmao
Can I ask you in wich deck do you play arcane shot and Krush? Like, in a midrange list with arcane shots and quick shots and maybe one or two mortal shots or just an aggresive deck with Krush?
I love watching Hearthstone videos, but tbh, your videos are the best. It's always peaceful, fun and even if you don't do it in purpose you give some lessons. Thanks Kibler. :)
After about your fifth time dying because of it you will learn to stop hero powering to play around certain cards. Another example for Paladin hero power is Brawl. Brawl is a hard one to play around with dudes, but you start to pick up a good game sense for after a lot of games.
Hearthstone is a lot like chess. You have to think a few turns ahead(many more in chess though) and imagine all the moves your opponent will make. His opponent playing unleash was a pretty basic one, he was thinking one turn ahead and calculating it. Earlier in the game, he was preparing an equality and consecrate for his call of the wild, quite a few turns ahead. Unfortunately he had to use it earlier to survive, but the point is that he was preparing ahead of time. Most people just play for fun though. To be honest, I am one of them. I have always been more of a deck builder and theory crafter than a competitive card player. But thinking about possible outcomes many turns in advance and knowing each and every classes class cards and how to play around them is what separates the fun players from the pros.
Wow Brian that call and sick play, not summoning a silver hand, was amazing! I would have never thought of that. Well I guess that's why you're at Legend and I a starter of this game a shieldbearer. xD :P
honestly i feel like i could hit legend, im just too lazy, i consistently hit rank 5 per season and stop cuz all i care for is the free epic lol, also i do t play consistently enough, i hit legend once but that was december 2015, but i still do make mistakes, i guess that just goes away with practice lol and watching streamers
This was absolutely skill, sure, but Hearthstone is still a battle against luck. The entire point of building a deck is to lower the amount of luck you need to win. The entire time you are basically fighting against luck and your enemy. It takes skill to build a proper deck, and it takes skill to make the best moves, absolutely. A shit player isn't going to do well with a good deck alone (Unless it's aggro shaman *cough*). What it comes down to is people who say it's all luck is just as wrong as people who say it's all skill. This game is about 50% skill and 50% luck. People make fun of Kripp all the time, but he is undeniably a great HS player and has a ton of skill and yet you still see him lose sometimes due to bad draws vs his opponent's good draws. It happens, and it happens in other card games too, it's just the nature of the core design behind card games with large decks. There is really no way to fix that.
With some knowledge of your and others decks you will go below 10-12, this is where it kind of begins, all ranks below this takes you a difficulty higher. Anything above this (up to rank 20) takes no thought-effort at all to rank, if you're not playing a weak deck and/or incorrectly.
Please note I'm not saying there is no luck in Hearthstone. I'm specifically talking about people who say it's "like 90% luck." We could argue about the exact percentages (my opinion is it's about 60% skill, 40% luck), but there are tons of people who describe Hearthstone as a purely luck-based game. Examples like this disprove that.
I'm no expert on it, but I'd imagine it would work well with c'thun priest since you can rely on that c'thun card that heals you for 10 to keep you healthy while you're pinging foes. Also that 4/5 card that heals you for 5. Sorry I forget the name of them. Much better heal cards than tournament medic. I remembered that one at least :D
Hey Kibler! Huge fan! Binged a ton of your hearthstone videos and always enjoy new ones :)This video made me burst into laughter at the end and definitely brightened my day! I hope to make content as fun as yours some day-Aspiring content creator
No, I'm represent just myself! But I'm from Brazil and I say that I'm reforcing the ideia that have other people, from other culteres, who watching the videos. North Americans do the same in brazillians videos
This is definitely a great example of why he's such a good player. It's such a simple thing that's easy to catch, but at the end of a game when you're so close to killing your opponent, not adding the extra minion is just not something I would have remembered to do.
this is what seperates the good players from the pro's i think. i keep learning from you and thanks for making these awesome videos. you really are a great player
Everyone here is saying that HS isnt (mainly) about luck, it's about skill due to Kibler's smart play at the end. While I'm not to take away from his outmaneuvering of the opponent, everyone here fails to realize that Kibler managed to topdeck a keeper of uldaman. Otherwise he probably would have lost without an answer to Rag
Once at an Magic PPTQ, I was playing BW Control against White Weenie, I was at five and I play Ob Nixilis. He has one card in hand and no board, and of stead of plussing Ob, I sit to play around Avacyn. I admit that, and he slams Avacyn down, slightly pissed, and I go on to win the game. Every point.
You have always have to play around Unleash the Hounds. Here the play was pretty obvious. It's so much harder when you don't have lethal on the board or when your life total seems out of reach (emphasis on "seems"). So tempting to play that extra guy!
It's rare to see a a misplay by Kibler but that turn 4 hero power into the opponent's doomsayer definitely applies, it was meaningless as he doesn't run frost giants and it would have made a potential Volcanic Drake cost 1 less for his opponent. Playing around unleash was solid though.
Ummm... I really want a dragon Pal and I have most of the cards but I dunno should I make chillmaw since I can play him only in dragon decks, so I though maybe Tirion should be better ? Any help ? I am rank 11 btw so I want something that can go further, ty
Make sure you're content with your Classic Legendary collection. Sylvanas is likely the strongest, she sees tons of play. I'd say Ysera and OG Rag are completely viable, too. I have a personal affinity for TBK and Cairne but they're certainly more niche. Of the class Legendaries, Tirion is tops. Only Antonidas rivals him there.
Nick Nevco Nothing to do with prediction, but with considering all the factors. How many cards can you top-deck that can give lethal? If UTH is one of them, then you can play around it.
4:18 Call of the wild never hits for 11. Either you think Huffer (5) + 2 hyenas (6 with the buff from Leokk) + hero power (2) = 13. Or either you know that the hyenas can't attack this turn because of the doomsayer and it's the classic 7 at turn 10.
Is by "every point" meant drawing Keeper of Uldaman right after he played Ragnaros, or drawing Corrupter when You needed to clear the board, or drawing truesilver right after he played companion in the beginning? I didn't catch this, sorry, so many little things, too much skill for me.
"its always so satisfying when you play around the exact card they draw and win because of it".. oh yeah man i agree i love it when that happens to me -_-
I heard Mister Kibler is a good HS player, if only I were that good, even tried out his decks but I just can't seem to make it work. Any help/feedback is appreciated! :D
why? thats a solid midrange hunter deck with a lot of good threats and the point of the game is to reduce your opponents health to 0, I think its ridiculous you find it weird
Eishiro Sugata ever since you start playing, one thing is drilled into your head: never forget to use your hero power if able. After a while it becomes an instinct to always press that button if you can, to the point of not even thinking about it. It's impressive then, to see someone who carefully thinks about every action, even ones that are considered obvious, while taking into account what's probably in the opponent's hand/deck
That was perfect. That's what separates the top players from the likes of me. I would have mindlessly hero-powered 99% of the time.
me too :(
I Was like, dude use the hero power #Sad
Cool story, when does the book come out?
You replied to the guy's comment "I would've played around it" and then rage when you get called on it, but I'm the ignorant one. Interesting.
At least he made some sense and had reasoning. Otherwise i only see a troll trying to provoke people, so jeah, you're the ignorant one.
That play around unleash, was next level. Hunters always draw/have that stupid ass card when they need it.
so true
I play hunter a lot, ridiculous draws only happen to me when I play shaman. This class is disgusting
magick222 lol I hate losing to top decks. So rageful it makes me want to scream

I love watching Hearthstone videos, but tbh, your videos are the best. It's always peaceful, fun and even if you don't do it in purpose you give some lessons. Thanks Kibler. :)
I wouldve used hero power and died to unleash cause im an idiot.
After about your fifth time dying because of it you will learn to stop hero powering to play around certain cards. Another example for Paladin hero power is Brawl. Brawl is a hard one to play around with dudes, but you start to pick up a good game sense for after a lot of games.
ThisIsMattsLife Yea I know, Im in rank 2 but I'm still an idiot lol.
same, i play too quickly without thinking of all the possible outcomes
+Fat Slob Step 1 stop playing aggro.
Hearthstone is a lot like chess. You have to think a few turns ahead(many more in chess though) and imagine all the moves your opponent will make. I love the music in each of your videos, keep it up Kibler! :)
Bless your heart
can u ress my cat pls?
It's his wife that edits the videos, she is doing a great job!
That name.. Much wow
Call me a terrible player all you like but I would never have thought about the play at the end to dodge Unleash, well played Brian!
I would have.
After my opponent played it.
I would have.
Half a second after I pressed the button.
this is why you're a legend player and im not, i wouldve hero powered last turn lol
he's rank 3...
+phillicheesestake He still hits legend every season.
honestly i feel like i could hit legend, im just too lazy, i consistently hit rank 5 per season and stop cuz all i care for is the free epic lol, also i do t play consistently enough, i hit legend once but that was december 2015, but i still do make mistakes, i guess that just goes away with practice lol and watching streamers
There are a lot of people who claim Hearthstone is like 90% luck. Plays like that at the end prove them wrong.
Yeah it's more like 83%, damn scrubs.
Just pokin' fun
This was absolutely skill, sure, but Hearthstone is still a battle against luck. The entire point of building a deck is to lower the amount of luck you need to win. After all the evidence to the contrary, that is obviously an extremely one-sided way of looking at the problem, and I think you know it.
You seem so Happy everytime, i kinda followed you troughout magic years ago and now hearthstone, you never loose this "nice guy" feeling lol
I never would have thought to play around Unleash...I bow to thee, Kibbles.
Nice call at the end Brian. well played.
Can't believe that a man can be so happy! Your videos are fantastic.
The synced classical music with the end of the game is always so satisfying.
Have no fear, aggro shaman is here!
I heard that Mister Kibler replies to early commenters! :O
But you were wrong
Ayy, got my ass handed to me, niiice! :))
+YodaMaster wow what a cool guy he must be
+Brian Kibler sure he is 😁
#rekt
It's been a while since I saw any shadowform priest... How would one go to make a viable deck around it post-old gods?
I'm no expert on it, but I'd imagine it would work well with c'thun priest since you can rely on that c'thun card that heals you for 10 to keep you healthy while you're pinging foes. Also that 4/5 card that heals you for 5. Sorry I forget the name of them. Much better heal cards than tournament medic. I remembered that one at least :D

1 point! wow hahah
I love when this happen. By the way, greetings from Brazil o/
Do you somehow represent Brazil? Why do people from outside US salute with reference to their nation?
No, I'm represent just myself! But I'm from Brazil and I say that I'm reforcing the ideia that have other people, from other culteres, who watching the videos.
North Americans do the same in brazillians videos
+Silverlance988 Had a bad day? Or do you always act like a ass?
G. ShadowBroker I always do, hehe
Love you Kibler, what do u think is the strongest deck this season?
That was beautiful. Any love for a control Priest with N'Zoth & C'Thun?
This is definitely a great example of why he's such a good player. It's such a simple thing that's easy to catch, but at the end of a game when you're so close to killing your opponent, not adding the extra minion is just not something I would have remembered to do.
Hey brian, how bad is justicar in mage and how bad is it to try to finley for a priest/warrior/hunter into justicar as a mage?
This shit is also educational af I'm really enjoying it !
Damn, dude, you are a good player
Welcome to the First Watcher Elite Club, a person who joined in less than 10 min after the vid. was added. Welcome. Welcome!
That last play, holy crap. Kibler is one of my favorite players, by far
What time does he usually stream? I forgot. :)
this is what seperates the good players from the pro's i think. i keep learning from you and thanks for making these awesome videos. you really are a great player
how can i replace ysera?
e por isso que eu nao saio do rank 13, eu fazia o hero power ali .-.
Very awesome read at the end!
It's not a read. He was playing around a topdeck.
yeah fuck me for complementing the guy.
Don't have to be so defensive, he's just correcting your statement. I'm sure he agrees with the premise.
such a smart play
>tfw "oh, goodie!" plays when Kibler wins a joust.
Divine.
Everyone here is saying that HS isnt (mainly) about luck, it's about skill due to Kibler's smart play at the end. Like 90%+ of the players I'd have clicked the hero power too quickly. Well played, that's why I was right to sub you. :)
Damn, that play. I would have slammed that Hero Power-button harder than a Stampeding Kodo.
Love the deck lists. C'thun Warrior has been bringing me luck in ranked. The RNG is so wild in your games keep it up.
you really smart
That was awesome, I would've conceded on that last turn realizing I was dead to the 2nd kill command haha

Saw this during the stream and it was superb!
How do you see that far ahead o.o
It's rare to see a a misplay by Kibler but that turn 4 hero power into the opponent's doomsayer definitely applies, it was meaningless as he doesn't run frost giants and it would have made a potential Volcanic Drake cost 1 less for his opponent.
Playing around unleash was solid though.
Ummm... I really want a dragon Pal and I have most of the cards but I dunno should I make chillmaw since I can play him only in dragon decks, so I though maybe Tirion should be better ?
Any help ?
I am rank 11 btw so I want something that can go further, ty
Tirion is an incredibly good card, but it depends how much you want to play Paladin
tirion is one of the best legendaries in the game. it was my first crafted legendary and never regretted that decision :)
If you want to play dragon paladin, or ANY non face paladin deck, get Tirion asap
Thanks everyone, will make Tirion as soon as gain 500 more arcain dust :V
Make sure you're content with your Classic Legendary collection. Sylvanas is likely the strongest, she sees tons of play. I'd say Ysera and OG Rag are completely viable, too. I have a personal affinity for TBK and Cairne but they're certainly more niche.
Of the class Legendaries, Tirion is tops. Only Antonidas rivals him there.
That was sooo smart of you Brian. Jeez!
Well done as always Kibler !
is it able to play dragon decks on ladder without n'zoth? im too poor to make it.
well,I guess. Any card that has synergy with dragons OR is a borad control one might be good :p
I am a proud member of the Dragon Army!!
Thanks for the lesson master kibler.
Wow. I would have totally lost that game, wouldn't have thought to play around unleash the hounds like that
that last play, its still like the one thing I never play around that would make me a perfect player.
Well played Master Kibler
Why you dont have golden Doomslayer?:D
We've learned something today...
random luck wins the day?
Playing around Unleash the Hounds is random luck? You'd have made that Silver Recruit and died, I bet.
Don't be greedy. You don't need another silver recruit, so don't do it.
because you can predict card draw all the time right, and there was no reason to use that hero power.
Nick Nevco Nothing to do with prediction, but with considering all the factors. How many cards can you top-deck that can give lethal? If UTH is one of them, then you can play around it.
why no pyros in this deck? I can see there isn't that much room but you should be able to cut something away
You're such a god, BMK.
technichally hero-powering at 1:00 was a clear mistake. doesnt achieve anything and Plays into volcanic drake
The horror of buzzard unleash back in the day is still quite fresh in my mind so I will always think twice about summoning stuff vs hunter...
Is by "every point" meant drawing Keeper of Uldaman right after he played Ragnaros, or drawing Corrupter when You needed to clear the board, or drawing truesilver right after he played companion in the beginning? I didn't catch this, sorry, so many little things, too much skill for me.
lol very true about doomsayer... he seems to be in every deck now days!
Omg, that was so well done!
That play was unreal
Soylent is made of real dragons. Anyways good learning video nice victory.
back to the old room
keep it up brian, you doing nice work
Isnt Kodo GvG?
it's classic
The only time it ever saw play in constructed was in midrange paladin after gvg tho
Daniel Ivanescu only time i ever saw it was in gvg, coulda sworn its in gvg packs ^^
Kibler = god.
Brilliant play not using hero power to dodge lethal!
As soon as I get money on my credit card, I will suscribe and donate to this guy, he is just.. amazing
Good job,Kibler!!!
Very nice end. Good play.
This was reynoodles list, you're facing a noodle fan
Heya buddy.. or I love this one violenvly world .
Subbed for that play
That was a sick predict.
fantastic play
and that, boys, is what separates a good player from a great one.
that extra 5% win rate is the difference between top 100 legend and rank 1.
That was nice, good job.
That was genius, Genius i tellz ya
G FUCKING G. most people just automatically use their hero power if they have 2 mana left, especcialy on palladin!
Dragon warrior anytime soon?
Poor Kibler with his allergies
Would have like to see Twitch chat in that case "OMG HERO POWER NotlikeThis"
Some Rank 15 people would just hero power and dont even think about unleash the hounds and blame the rng and sh*t EleGiggle xD
Why did he resign? Couldnt he have done 1 damage next turn?
next turn he is dead
So crazy that such a strong control deck goes down to having only 1 health versus a hunter. That seems a little ridiculous to me.
The hunter deck had quite a large threat density though.
why? thats a solid midrange hunter deck with a lot of good threats and the point of the game is to reduce your opponents health to 0, I think its ridiculous you find it weird
why do people act like its witchcraft to play around unleash?
Cause they're aren't rank 5+
Because most people bank on people not having that card and or just forget
Eishiro Sugata ever since you start playing, one thing is drilled into your head: never forget to use your hero power if able. After a while it becomes an instinct to always press that button if you can, to the point of not even thinking about it. It's impressive then, to see someone who carefully thinks about every action, even ones that are considered obvious, while taking into account what's probably in the opponent's hand/deck
all of these plays were pretty straightforward...
Beautiful ending!
Gotta love when he prove us dumb :D
Also for "Every point matters" Had he not played the Drake first for that extra point from consecration he wouldn't have had lethal at the end.
By the Holy Light!
well done dude
Kibble my Bibble
Wow that play was so clever. I know now how im not in higher rank.
