Before visiting Tromso for seeing the Northern lights , watch this video to be well prepared
Camera Lenses and Tripod:
Canon EOS 200D Digital SLR Camera (24.2 Megapixels, 7.7 cm Display, APS-C CMOS Sensor) with Kit lens (Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/4-5.6 IS STM 0.25m - ∞) (www.amazon.in/dp/B07RJWB548)
Focus mode: Manual focus (Switch to MF on lens). Focus on ∞ by focusing on stars
Camera mode: Shutter priority (TV for Canon and S for Sony). Shutter speed 30” (30 seconds)
Tripod we used: K&F concept lightweight aluminium tripod (www.amazon.de/dp/B07HQJNJWP) In our experience, this tripod was lacking in convenience especially when trying to quickly change the setting and the head was a little bit loose.
Our recommendation for tripod: On the trip we were given Manfrotto Compact action tripods (www.amazon.in/dp/B00K0P047E) which we found to be much better and easy to use. The disadvantage we felt with this was that it was hard to turn up the head so that the camera pointed straight up. But the ease of use was really amazing!
