2024 BMW X2 M35i POV Review!! Does It Encompass The Sporty Coupe Category Well?

- Today I was fortunate enough to review the All-New 2024 BMW X2 M35i! Huge thanks to BMW of South Miami for allowing me to review this model!
The Second iteration of the X2 now comes in the form of a Coupe CUV. The previous gen, F39, was more of a shorter version of the X1 but still retained the hatchback styling of that model. That model, which I owned, was not sold as well in the US due to its design. The new gen, U10, features designs from the bigger brothers X4 and X6. It encompasses the X6 front grill but the sporty back styling of the X4. The model I test comes in at $53,545 and is featured with the Vegas Red Metallic color.
Powering the X2 M35i is the same 2.0T 4 Cylinder producing 312 HP and 295 lb-ft of Torque. All of this mated to a 7 Speed DCT and comes standard with X-drive. On the interior front it features large screens. The first is the Gauge cluster that comes in at 10.3 inch’s while the touchscreen is 10.7 inches. The models overall length is 7.6 inches longer then the first gen and 2.6 inches longer then the Current X1.

There's something very special about the new X2 M35i. This car looks so much better in the flesh than any videos I've seen. It's a beast!
Agreed! Overall looks make it feel more sportier than the prior generation! Can’t wait to see more of these on the roads!

Every M2 in the US I've seen has the chrome grill outline like this one. However, in other regions of the world you can get it in black. Is there some reason why there aren't any in the US?
The black grill/exhaust tips look so much better than the chrome.
There are ones in the US that have it but you have to option in either the M Professional Package or you have to choose the shadow package. This one wasn’t equipped with it unfortunately but it is available in the States

It has piped in exhaust sound I hear.
Yes it does! Most BMW’s do as well as other brands. The insulation added to the vehicle requires brands to do that. You can disable it though.
It does and it sounds amazing 😊
I didn’t like the DCT, the torque converter transmissions on my other BMWs feel smoother on start up and shift just as well. However the rest of the car is exactly what I needed and the dealer gave me a good discount on the order so I have one on the way.
I will say from my experience of driving DCT Mini’s in a past review, this engagement is far sharper and more responsive then what does models felt. Overall it’s a nice DCT. I did hear that the mapping of it is very very different then the one in the 28i version.
They should hav made it with flat bottom steering wheel like x1
The X1 M35i doesn’t have a flat bottom steering wheel. The only new product that is an M Performance that gets the flat bottom is the LCI 4 series which looks quite nice! Also the 5er now gets the flat bottom even in regular form with M-Sport
