Dude fr the memories I have of the insanity that would unfold playing the infection game mode were unreal.. the level Bloodbath had these two rooms that were divided by a bulletproof glass wall and players would always hold up in those two rooms but they were dead ends as well and the absolute slaughter you would witness as players in the adjacent room would get overrun with infected players was unreal as you watched your teammates dwindle in numbers while you helplessly watch and await your own onslaught. Damn I miss those days

I loved the hell out of Area 51 back on the PS2, felt like the closest thing to Halo since I wasn't much of an Xbox player at the time. The multiplayer was a ton of fun too, especially the infection type humans vs mutants mode. A shame the following game Blacksite: Area 51 was basically its own thing instead of a direct sequel though.
I didn't even look at the multiplayer option, I can imagine how fun that mode would've been. It reminded me of TimeSplitters a bit as well. I wonder what a direct sequel would've been, tracking down and killing the illuminati woulda be my first guess.
I actually tried playing Blacksite two times. Once on PS3, the other on PC. It didn't matter which version you picked, because the game was such a downgrade in every sense of the word, with a more generic and cliche plot with an in-your-face war on terror critique, bad framerates on console, and a rather lacklustre arsenal compared to its precursor. And as a connoisseur of Late-2000s FPS games like Call of Duty 4, Crysis, BioShock and even Turok 2008, Whenever people insult that era, Blacksite: Area 51 is usually what they're talking about. It's just so... Brown and bland.

The SR-91 Aurora in the "Deep Underground" cutscene of the game is almost exactly similar to the real life descriptions and sightings of the real aircraft.
I was obsessed with this game and all its B-rated storyline. It was fun and i still remember charging into that last Gray that was standing in my way of escape, dual wielding two Assault Rifles. I also remember the handgun being almost like a god damn Magnum from Halo CE or was that just me lol

I remember in elementary school id play this game almost every chance i got on my ps2. So many memories 1v1ing friends and teaching them how to play. This game was such a big part of my childhood. Area 51 is honestly one of Midway's best 2000s non-Mortal Kombat games. It's fast, fun, and best of all, it doesn't take itself so seriously! As someone who played another game by the same company where the main flaw was the story and writing (Psi-Ops, another good one), you can tell that everyone involved were having way too much fun with this game and creating a world where every conspiracy, no matter how stupid, is real in some form or another. The tongue is firmly in cheek, and it shows. Also, the gameplay rocks. Pure arcade fun.

Love this game, it's so janky yet so late PS2 era. The weird semi-kinda sequel Blacksite was bizarrely good as well. Never seen this channel before but I like your style, definitely going to be checking out the rest of the channel. Also... thanks for not putting your face in half the thumbnail as well. I know that sounds weird but my god, everyone does it and it's only OK for Nitro Rad.
