Sense-making is the process of understanding and acting in the world, with sufficiency being a critical aspect. Weak signal detection is the challenge of recognizing unusual information. A project involving thousands of respondents showed diverse interpretations of the same data, highlighting the need for micro situational awareness. Two mass participation events were announced, one on post-pandemic scenarios and the other on tree ethics in triage. Anticipatory awareness and side casting replace traditional forecasting methods by focusing on present conditions and identifying coherent pathways. Triangles and narrative-based approaches are used to gather data and assess attitudes. The goal is to build a sensor network and involve youth as journalists in their communities to enhance crisis preparedness. Complexity theory and the coupling of practical and theoretical wisdom are emphasized to navigate uncertainty effectively.
