    looks good, they should come with at least 35s from the factory imo and the offroad variants optional 37s, the stock tires look so goofy and disproportionate.

    After running the 37's with the 17" rims what was the mpg. After watching your video I really like the look of that setup. Especially running the 11.50 width tires. I'm currently running 35x12.50R20 Nitto Grabblers and am getting 12.75 mpg.

    Great video! What is the exact height to the shark fin and roof? I am deciding between the 2” and 3” lift dobinsons ims lift. I need to be able to clear 82” height. Is yours under 82” at the shark fin?

    That looks sick bro!!! I’m tryin hard to find anything negative and I really can’t, but if I had to give a negative it would be the wheels. I love the wheels themselves, but, on the video at least, they look a little small. Not sure what size they are as I’m writing this, but if they’re 17’s than 18’s would probably look better. Again, I’m just nitpicking lol the truck is great and significantly improved over the oem for sure!!! 🤙
    Edit: yeah they’re 17’s so 18’s would probably look better, but I’m goin off a video and they may look perfect in person.

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea 17s looked fine with 35s for sure. But with 37s they do look a little small. I look forward to putting 18's on it in the future.

    • @KendrasEdge757
      @KendrasEdge757 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TRDJon yeah ok that’s it then the 37’s, yeah. Still not bad, just looks a little small on the 37’s, but yeah 18’s would be perfect for the 37’s. I had 38’s on my old F250 on 20’s but it was a much bigger truck-F250 6.7 so I’m also used to bigger wheels. When I got my 21 T4R TRD ORP the TRD Pro 17’s looked small to me at first too, but now I don’t think I’d go larger on the 4Runner. At least not until I do my lift-level kit one of these days and see how it looks.

    Well done :) after gives it’s aggressive look to it

  • @leektphi
    @leektphi ปีที่แล้ว +1

    For breaking not only the weight but I dont know what to really call it but its like a reverse gear ratio because of the increase in diameter of the tire that's sending more energy back to the break rotors which in turn takes more to stop. I really notice it with the 40s.

    Thanks for modding and posting. Enjoy your channel. I'm waiting for a 2024 Tundra release, so this is very helpful. I'm planning on 3 inch suspension lift on 35 x 12.5 AT with R18 wheels, but your 37 x 11.5 R 17 looks proportionally fitting for a Tundra. Have you been able to measure the overall height increase from your suspension and wheel setup? I imagine it would be around 84 inches tall?

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's close to 84" yes. It still fits in my garage. Thanks! The only thing is in photos the wheels look a little small compared to the larger 37" tires. But in real life it's perfect imo.

    • @dysutopia4238
      @dysutopia4238 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @TRDPRO
    @TRDPRO ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks great!
    Are you upgrading or adding some spacers to the bump stops (especially in the front)? Also, did you do at least a diff drop (icon)? Since you don't have the OR axles or extended front axles I heard that the factory ones (without OR package) are too short and can pop out destroying everything, especially with a 3 inch lift. PS. No hate just don't want to see something get destroyed on your truck

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  ปีที่แล้ว

      No I appreciate it. I may do the longer axels in the future. But I'm not doing any insane off roading with it to need the longer axels. But I will keep an eye on the boots to make sure that they don't get messed up.

    • @TRDPRO
      @TRDPRO ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TRDJon no problem at all! I’ll be doing a lift similar on my platinum soon as well.
      But on this year Tundra, it’s not even just the boot angle, it’s the axles actually being too short. I would highly recommend even just throwing the Icon diff drop in for now.

    As a previous owner of many previous gen Tundra's I must say this truck is an embarrassment to the former Tundra legacy. Seriously it's small, sits about as high as a Ridgeline and is just not a good locking truck. What segment of truck is Toyota trying to compete in with this this latest generation?

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Same one as last? Their own? Toyota doesn't care about taking down Ford or Chevy with the Tundra. That is what the Tacoma is for. But thanks for watching a video ON YOUR OWN and commenting just to express your opinion about the old vs new truck...

      @TRDJon Apologies, your vid was great and the truck looks good, NOW. In its stock form it's just a far cry from the days of it pulling the spaceship. The friggin spaceship!
