    This is definitely on next year’s list. Amazing, and a perfectly simple mechanism. Edgar Allen Poe wrote a short story called The Premature Burial that popularized the idea. Unfortunately Poe’s main character is unnamed, but in Roger Corman’s adaptation he’s named Guy Carrell so I’ll probably use that for the epitaph.

      Yeah it’s nice to see, but too many people steal decorations now. My jack o lantern use to be stolen every year. Now I don’t even bother till day of.

      @@bhodie131 especially Christmas decorations. Why bother stealing them if one doesn't put them up for the world to enjoy. The inflatable decorations aren't even worth an effort to steal so cheaply made.

    I know that it is all done but a chain going into the grave for the victim to pull would have also been cool. The other person's idea of a rotted off rope hanging but still ringing also could have been cool. How it is is totally awesome. You have made some of the best props that The Winchester has ever seen I am sure.

    I love that you share these videos. What we get is your generosity of experience. Things like tools, hardware, resources that some of us don't even know exists! Thank you both for always sharing. It's nice to see people who are so talented, yet so friendly and giving... and caring! 🙂 Thank you.

    This was a fun project with some historic reality behind it. Perfect for haunted cemeteries. I think I would add an audio track of a muffled voice begging to be let out for added creepy factor - or a ghostly voice of the spirit who was never freed with the bell rope torn and dangling after it snapped below. Maybe a suitable punny name for the epitaph. Would you have a specific part list to share for the mechanism? Great job!

    • @torsloke
      @torsloke ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I was thinking if I do it I might make the epitaph Franz Vester, who filed the patent for it. Like he was so dedicated to his invention he went to the grave to test it.

    Looks better than anything I’ve seen but with the tool requirements and materials needed, this one’s definitely for the advanced yard haunters. Guess I’ll have to find a to steal yours.

    Harrison playing around and taking naps was the highlight of the video!!!!
    You know what also could look cool? - If over the fishing line there was an old weathered rope about to break off and just hanging by a very thin thread... morbid!

      @@HollywoodHaunter in a lot of cases the bells themselves are long gone but you'll see the attachments where the bells used to hang. I remember going to visit my grandmothers grave as a kid and asking my dad why some graves had bells. His explanation gave me a life long fear of being buried alive! 😂

  • @raymitchell9736
    @raymitchell9736 ปีที่แล้ว

    A creative solution I thought you did the bell ringing a different way, but that works.... I've learned that overkill is just enough kill for a Halloween prop... It is not a true Halloween prop if there aren't problems... and you just eliminated probably 5 of them with that pulley. Secondly, I thought it was hilariously ironic That FlexBond bag, read at T=4:09: "Premium Crack Prevention Thin-set Mortar" is covering cracks that you intentional made LOL... A true haunter does that... preserves the creepy features, and you don't want THOSE to crack!

    • @HollywoodHaunter
      @HollywoodHaunter  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Of course and if you didn't want to do that step you could just paint it with a drylock sealer or paint/primer and call it good. It's really however much money and time you want to put into your props and how long you need them to last.

    You are a master prop maker bud. You make it look so easy. Are there any b roll bloopers or mistakes. Lol. Do you make a shopping list and hit Home Depot weekly or do you have a little supply house in the shed with all the common things you use multipurposely. That would be a good show and tell

    May I ask how you keep the plywood from separating/ delaminating when being used outdoors.

    • @HollywoodHaunter
      @HollywoodHaunter  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is sealed pretty well with all the paint layers. Plus, it even has a little resin over some areas where the foam was attached. We haven't had any problems with that so far.
