Thanks! Something i’ve been curious about is the ratio of long term Aptera fans vs new interested people. I’m really glad to hear that you observed a lot of new people showing interest in Aptera.
Those amazing extroverts. They're able to talk faster than a speeding news story, more powerful than the will to sleep in on a cold morning and able to leap into vast crowds of people in a single introduction.
Thanks Jeff and nice meeting over the days. YES from the boot… to the After Party… What a great Community of people. Yes many “let their hair down” at Area 15 😉 As we all celebrated this milestone. Len
Great job, saw you at CES after-party but I couldn't catch you from where I was at. Thanks for posting and speaking how well all the staff work together in sync and all the new fans that saw Aptera for the first time.
Frankly, Warren Buffet considers management and leadership within a corporation the most important part of his investment decisions. The co-ceos are balanced, a ying/yang type of way. I see that as a major reason to invest. This is no longer just a dream. It has evolved into a quest, and undeniable force of making Aptera the best it can be....
The Aptera community seems to be a diverse and interesting group. My wife and I look forward to meeting more and more of you as time goes on! We are also excited to meet Chris, Steve and the whole Aptera team!! This is a great video idea and topic Jeff, we certainly hope to meet you too!!
Thanks for a good video. I am an Aptera fan, have placed an order and have invested in the company. I have done so years ago. Aptera has missed their moment however. They should have gone into production two years ago. Now the competition has advanced so much I can now get a larger car with decent range for half the price. I understand solar is cool, but it doesn't come close to justifying the price. I doubt I will take delivery of my order. I doubt the company will survive. Excellent ideas and technology but a few years too late.
What exactly is the competition for the Aptera? Arcimoto? Tesla's future 2-seater robotaxi? There is nothing like the Aptera on the market today, which is why people are so excited about it. Every auto startup has delay after delay. It took Lucid 14 years to get to production, Rivian took 12 years. Aptera is on track to do it in 6-7 years, which is half the time of those companies, and they had much better financing. Tesla managed to get the Roadster out in 5 years, but it took a major shortcut by using Lotus Elise gliders and doing low volume production that didn't require a lot of investment in a factory.
Aptera should start small production and tha ask reservation holders to partly prepay their car so can fund large production without further millionair investors !!!! I will be happy to prepay 20k if i get my car within 20 months ! .. lets find out how many people would do this !!!!!
Good idea. Under Californian Law thou, a company cannot accept prepayment to sell a product sometime in the future. A company can only accept payment when the product is available for immediate sales. Thou, they coukd build a few Aptera ev but each ev would be very expensive thou. Hope this helps. Take care.
@@natez9059 - Then Aptera is breaking California law. This is because Steve told everyone a while back, that the first 50 were already paid for. This is bad news for Aptera because now they are in trouble. I wonder what California will do to them?
How about do like Elio Motors. Make a larger non refundable deposit and then have customers sign a commit to buy. That way, out of the 52K pre orders, we'd see who is serious about buying the product vs the ones that lost interest, died, financial situation changed or just gave up. That would go a long way to convincing an investor of what the real interest is.
@@billsmith5960 Those first 50 were paid for by Aptera Motors Investors, not future customers. Besides some of those first 50 are going to be crashed tested so those cannot be sold to the public afterwards. Thanks.
@@shrimptopian3392 Incorrect. Check through Aptera's filings on the SEC website (you can search SEC EDGAR on Google). Their last update of sorts when it comes to their shares outstanding is in their newest offering as of the November/December 2024 timeframe which is not 7 months ago.
There are no facts on range/efficiency , just the same old garbage numbers, their solar engineer says 500-550w at ces in aoc video, but directors are still saying 700 watts....why is this? No miles/kwh on the dash, hv battery numbers on the dash dont make any sense, very nice looking car but there is no real data...well we can see solar watts are 270 or less on all the test drive videos, you will never get true numbers as they dont match what they want you to believe.....is 270 watts equal to 700 watts....nope... so lets use real numbers not make believe garbage
Those numbers are momentary, while the cameras are running. They are also FAR lower than the maximum attainable by the solar panels under ideal conditions in the summer. The numbers should be higher in the summer, the more sunlight hits the panels, the more power should be generated. As far as I have been able to tell, the highest amount reported was around 350 Watts. One value I read, reported by a journalist, not Aptera, was 395 W. As far as I know, Aptera has not made an attempt to predict the average maximum Wattage in the summer based on these numbers. 500 W seems low, and is probably a conservative estimate based on bench testing. We have to rely on Aptera's reporting of the recorded maximum, but we can clearly see for ourselves in the videos that Hermes was easily generating 250 W over a sustained period. 700 W is the rating of the solar panels because that is their rating. That is the maximum amount of charge they can generate at any moment. It is highly unlikely they would ever generate that value, simply because there is no one point source of light that can hit all solar cells at a perpendicular angle. However, it IS possible to generate that much power with a light source that is NOT a point source of light. I'll also point out that if Hermes had by some miracle shown a power generation of 700 W at any time, then it would generate even MORE in the summer. To a potential maximum of 1400 W. That is more than the solar panel is apparently capable of generating. So your very premise shows a lack of understanding of how solar power works.

is there a update about the USCG 60 million ??
Unless there is something new with respect to their financial statements that I haven't seen, I do not think so.
@theninjineer
so basically still nothing after 7 months 🤔

but the 60 million raise failed ?!
and yes i know they started a 20 million raise
