MY NATURAL HAIR JOURNEY DIARY | 1996 - Present

Yo I have been waiting on making this video for so long, I thought I was ready a couple years ago but you'll see why I wasn't in the video. This started off as just me going through my pictures to see the changes and the growth, but then it got deep all of a sudden when I started thinking about how much value I truly placed on my hair. There were SO many setbacks. That flat iron man was my best friend and my worst enemy. I'm definitely still learning and I think now is the perfect time for this video.

I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this video! It’s crazy to look back through your life in the context of your current natural hair journey to pull out the pieces related to your hair story. I related to so much of what you said, especially always wanting your hair to be STRAIGHT.
I have a natural hair commentary series on my channel where I explore that exact topic. Plus, my transitioning story was definitely not a smooth one either. 2 textures and that damn line of demarcation are no joke!

Gurl our stories are soooo similar 😱 I had really long hair as a child and got my first perm in high school and my hair just continued to break and thin out 😩 then my junior year in college I was done with the straight hair and I’ve been on my natural hair journey ever since.. best decision ! ♥️ but it’s def not an easy journey 😊
