There is a very good reason his acting was so good. He was the only seasoned actor on the show and very educated at that having went to acting school for almost four years and was active in theater most his life before doing TPB. He was also an accomplished director. I am glad we got to see his talents worldwide before he died. An awesome actor.

No one would have either if it weren't for Netflix which is a blessing and a curse (popularity but then mainstreamism). Hell TPB wasn't even all that well known in Canada until after the series 1-7 concluded. I was an OG fan watching it as it came out in 00s on Showcase. Still couldn't drop a worst case Ontario in public without getting funny looks. Now I overhear it in general conversation.

I found Trailer Park Boys in 2016 when i got divroced. I watched it everyday and it was typically playing at all times in the back ground. The sound of the intro feels like an old friend walking into the room. I will always have a special place for this show and the help it gave me through a very difficult time in my life. I would get hammered with Lahey and the boys when I needed to and took a lesson on the kind of friends I deserve to have. Thank you John. I hope you are taking good care of the Mustard Tiger up there for us!

The only guy who masterfully faked it 100% yet making his drunk persona a real character was Dean Martin.

His spot on portrayal of a drunk and how it not only effects you as a person but also those around you. Yeah, we laugh but alcoholism is not a joke. I love the scene where Lahey crashes the BBQ... First the liquor bottle falls out of his waistband and lands perfectly upright on the ground, then when he falls on the table and the popcorn bowl goes flying it ends up landing directly on his face then bouncing off LOOOL! Its like some kind of slapstick comedy jedi force trick for christs sake!
This show is all about community. IMO it’s a beautiful reminder that everywhere in the world communities exist and that is something we can almost all relate to. I love how they can make a hilarious and crass moment share such a beautiful and valuable message. The show itself is a lesson of not to judge a book by its cover and i live by that. I have watched the whole series at least six times and I still laugh and cry simultaneously at times.
