- Hi. I have another piece of music for you. This one is an extended version of the "Trivia Trap" theme originally written by Edd Kalehoff. Now, this arrangement wasn't produced by Edd, or indeed with anyone connected with the show. This was actually created and arranged by Tony Lane, better known as tdawgg3x on Big Jon's PC Games forum. He's hosting an Internet version of the game on the forum (no real prizes or cash given away). He did a brilliant job on it, even made the animated GIF you see here.

BANGER THEME! I loved this game show.
I can close my eyes while listening to this theme and imagine Lucinda Dickey, Shabba Doo, and Boogaloo Shrimp dancing up a storm and having an absolute blast.
I can imagine Dick Clark introducing this on "Bandstand" in '84. Just an imagination.
I can also picture the late, great Don Cornelius' energetic dancers on "Soul Train" pop-locking on the soundstage floor to the themes from both "Trivia Trap" and "Body Language" (both written by the legendary Edd Kalehoff!). Thanks for commenting, @@drummingdanny84.

This animation of the logo is the most stable I've ever seen. The actual sign on the show would glitch like crazy sometimes. Especially the word "Trap." LOL

I'm really surprised Price is Right didn't pick this track up for use.
THE PRICE IS RIGHT should have picked up TRIVIA TRAP,S THEME because after they were both produced by the late Mr.Mark Goodson!!
They did pick up the buzzer sound for Pathfinder, that's something.
Truthfully I think this should the new MAIN THEME for The Price Is Right for the beginning of the 52nd or the 53rd season.Or being The Hollywood Squares is returning in Jan or Feb 2025 with Drew Barrymore as the new host & or center square while somebody else hosts-THIS OLD TRIVIA TRAP THEME SHOULD BE THE THEME TO THE "NEW" "NEW" HOLLYWOOD SQUARES!!
For a second I thought this was by Shuki Levy because he produced similar theme songs for cartoons like Jayce And the Wheeled Warriors, Space Strikers, among others.
If Riff-Raff's girlfriend Cleo (from that Heathcliff cartoon) had her own spinoff, no way this wouldn't be the theme music. 😁😁😁

Trivia Trap aired on ABC Monday, October 8th, 1984 to Friday, April 5th, 1985 and was hosted by Bob Eubanks!!!
I miss those two game shows!! But maybe they'll probably come on ABC along with Celebrity Family Feud,100,000 Pyramid, The Match Game,Press Your Luck,Card Sharks and To Tell The Truth!!

Fremantle Media could revive it as a brand but that is about it. Newer game shows don't even have an announcer.
+Greg Palmer honestly the whole announcing of "a FremantleMedia production " needs to be done away with period. I know its" tradition" but it sounds too ungainly when George (and Rich fields before him) announce it and it doesn't fit the show like how MGP used to. Theyre (Fremantle) a big conglomerate, and utilizing the Fremantlemedia closing animation at end of show is sufficient enough. the closing TPIR spiel should end with the announcers name and that's it.

+Greg Palmer Agreed There are tons of talented BROADCASTERS both local and national that could host the show better, the trend toward "lets get another funny guy to host my revival" needs to stop
+David Davenport As much as I'd like to see Nick Cannon get his feet wet in the game show world, I'd rather it be on a reboot of Double Dare or Finders Keepers. As for Trivia Trap, I'd go with Todd Newton, David Ruprecht or even original host Bob Eubanks.

Trivia Trap was the last original game show produced by Mark Goodson, who died in 1992.
What about TKO?
That didn't get past the pilot stage. Trivia Trap was the last ORIGINAL game show that Goodson had on the air. The other shows, "Super Password," "Classic Concentration," "Card Sharks," "Family Feud," "Now You See It," "Match Game," and "To Tell The Truth," between 1984 and 1991, were all remakes. Even "Body Talk" didn't make it as a series.

If you didn't tell me, I would have guessed that is Price is Right Music. Or maybe that 80s Game Show Card Sharks.
It does have that "Every Room in the House" or "Down Main Street" showcase vibe.

@Jason Larsen Ryan Stiles hasn't hosted a game show. This would be a perfect opportunity for him to host a show like this. Chris Harrison is good, but he would be overworking himself if he chose to do that show should it come back. Ryan Stiles needs a game show because he is probably the only main Whose Line cast member that hasn't hosted a game show. Either Ryan does this if it comes back or Ryan should replace Alec Baldwin as host of Match Game.
If you did bring back Trivia Trip it should be a battle between genders and not age groups.

I would watch it if the jackpots in their bonus round ranged from $100,000. to $1 Million!!

I THINK FOR THE START OF THE 52ND YEAR OF TPIR FROM THEIR NEW GLENDALE STUDIOS IN CALIFORNIA--TPIR NEEDS TO GO BACK TO RECYCLE & USE OLD GAME SHOW THEMES!!--THEY SHOULD USE THIS OLD TRIVIA TRAP THEME FOR THE OPENING FROM WHEN ALL 4 CONTESTANTS COME DOWN TO BIDDERS ROW & WHEN DREW CAREY WALKS OUT THROUGH THE MAIN DOORS!! YES THIS TRIVIA TRAP THEME SHOULD BE THE NEW MAIN THEME FOR THE PRICE IS RIGHT!! EVEN THOUGH IT,S AN 80,S THEME BUT IT,S STILL HIP ENOUGH FOR EVEN IN THIS ERA.
Might have had a longer run on another network, I think it went head to head with Wheel and TPIR - at least it did in the SF Area
Yeah, CBS would've been a better fit for it.... although there weren't enough Goodson shows on NBC back in the 80s I can only think of MGHSH, the two runs of Blockbusters, Password Plus, and Super Password.
There was also Mindreaders (though barely).
And Classic Concentration with Alex Trebek also was 80s NBC.
Officially, although it aired in the late afternoons in NE Ohio on a UHF channel no longer affiliated with ABC. I actually thought it was syndicated.
@@ricknibert6417 I thought Super Password was syndicated because it aired on an indie/charter Fox/back to indie Station throughout its run. Conversely I thought Wipeout had replaced Card Sharks on CBS Daytime and that The $25,000 Pyramid aired on both the CBS and indie/Fox Station (twice a day, the indie/Fox having it afternoons). Turns out that was The $100,000 Pyramid.
Other false thoughts: I thought Blackout aired while $25,000 Pyramid was still running and could have either been CBS or syndicated. I thought that Classic Concentration aired at 9:30am, Sale of the Century at 10, Wheel of Fortune at 10:30 and an hour long Win, Lose or Draw at 11 before the Noon news. I thought Scrabble was a show called Double Trouble when I watched it at 12:30.

Hearing this makes me want to host a game show someday. I bet that I would do better than Ryan Seacrest! LOL

Yes, Bargain Hunters...was trash (to put it kindly). Match Game in 1990 had the same unfortunate fate that Hot Potato had. It was in the death slot of 12:00 noon when most NBC stations ran news.
"Family Feud" ended in 1985, not 1984.
