    (This was a reply to another comment but it felt important to add it to the main comments) I am a pest control technician and you definitely want to wear a respirator along with safety goggles, long sleeve shirt and pants and a hat. Any pesticide even the low toxicity ones can still be harmful if breathed in or gets on your skin. If you do get it on your skin make sure to wash off with soap and water. Water alone will not get it off. Please be careful. Exposure is a very real thing and can sneak up on you

      At my job they spray something for mosquitoes it was around my table since the day I have very bad sore throat and cough I believe it was from the spray. Every time they spraying mosquitoes in NYC everyone starts coughing and sneezing, they call it allergy but I believe is the stuff.

    • @KirstenMarie_MS3
      @KirstenMarie_MS3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SanyYugo2020 As in an allergy to something else in the environment? Because you be allergic to it and experience physical corrosive effects at the same time.
      Just about any foreign substance has the capacity to trigger an allergy since they are (essentially) an.... overly enthusiastic immune response. But, I agree. The spray probaby irritates mucosa independent of an allergy response.
      The takeaway: you can be hit with a double whammy.
      As a med student, I have 2 suggestions if it's really bothering you or anyone else. 1.) See your doctor for reaction and, more importantly, get verified documentation of how it's affecting everyone. 2.) Check the OSHA laws in your state because you may have a claim.

    • @SanyYugo2020

    • @KirstenMarie_MS3
      @KirstenMarie_MS3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SanyYugo2020 That's pretty normal. There are something like 50 or 60 different species that make up the genus of Legionella bacteria. The only one that is of clinical significance to humans is L. pneumophila. People comonly get it from poorly maintained air conditioning units.
      If you don't mind my asking, what do you do for a job?
      But like I said, if you want to pursue making formal complaints, you should start by seeing your doctor, if you haven't already. OSHA and any other claims will require proof that your health is being impacted significantly.

Wear long pants, long sleeve shirt and nitrile/latex gloves. Bifen isn't overly dangerous but you do it enough and get enough on you over time it can be dangerous. But if theres branches that hang directly over i DO NOT spray them because i dont want that product getting in yout pool man. I touch and breathe in enough of that shit by accident everyday no one else should. Ive never had a customer complain about the overhead branches i didn't spray over the pool but at the end of the day my man. The best thing to do would ge cut those branches away and maybe back from the pool. Ive seen so many people that have jumanji esque jungle like vegetation all in backyards going "why are the mosquitoes so bad" a landscaper and a pest control technique are the best combo to get rid of both if you got the money. 2. My main desire is to be able to sit on my raised deck (looked a little similar to yours) what distance beyond the deck perimiter do you need to spray
    3. I bought (knowing little other than amazon reviews) a product call "Stop the bites" - I just checked the ingredients and it does not contain bifantirin - did i just waste my money. Is bifanterin the way to go ?
    4. I have a non-stilh blower and the flow head is 1, 2, 3, 4. Any idea of the flow rate for the stilh at a setting of 1.8 (I will search it out if you don't know of the top of your head.

I found a local pest control person that was semi retired and he got tired of coming to our place to spray. He told me to buy this stuff and do what he does. I bought a gallon and it will last me probably 5 years. I prefer to just use my backpack pressure sprayer and not do the fogging thing. I just spray the house and the perimeter around it as well. I use a very fine mist setting except for hitting the higher spots on the house, then it is what ever setting hits the highest points. FYI, there were times when we would have hundreds of stink bugs on our house and would kill 20-30 stink bugs in our house on any given day. Hope this helps?

    Always a fan of others educating others. If you’re going to do so though you shouldn’t be disregarding important safety measures and proper spraying technique. As a previous pest control/mosquito control business owner you claim to be, respirators and long sleeves/pants should always be worn especially using a backpack mister. You’re just walking through mist clouds of bifenthrin… On top of that you’re spraying flowers in bloom. Did you even obtain a license in the past? Perhaps you’re just being careless because it’s your own property, who knows.
    When you pay a pest control company for service you’re also paying for knowledge and safety.
    Just because you can purchase the products yourself doesn’t mean you SHOULD do it yourself. Educate

      You need to eliminate the nest. Horner spray kills some but it won’t kill the nest. Use a product called termidor. That’s labeled for wasps. You can use it as a perimeter treatment as well. It last a very long time and has a great residual.

      @joealta3450 Bifen, being a synthetic derivative of pyrethrins, and permethrin, a member of the pyrethroid family, both work by targeting the nervous system of insects. While Bifen is a man-made version of pyrethrins derived from chrysanthemum flowers, permethrin is commonly used in various products such as cattle ear tags, flea collars, spot-on treatments for dogs, and for treating scabies and head lice in humans. Each product may have specific applications and effectiveness, depending on the target pest and the formulation used.

    Here’s a DIY method……get yourself a decent sprayer and some pool filter socks. Then head to the local grocery store. Get yourself one of those large containers or two of minced garlic. By me they are glass jars with the garlic and a pretty decent amount of liquid. Put the pool filter sock over the opening of the sprayer. Careful not to let it fall in. Dump the whole jar of garlic into the sock. Once it drains, tie a knot into the top and drop it in the sprayer. Fill with warm water and then go to town spraying the perimeter of your yard and foliage. If you’re having company do this in the morning. The garlic smell will dissipate but it will keep the mosquitos out. I also used this around my shed Because I had rabbits going under. Drove them away too.
