I see Bret as a sort of anthropologist. He somehow managed to live the toxic, narcissistic, drug-infused lifestyles of Hollywood, Bennington and New York to the fullest without being swallowed by them. This allowed him to report on these insane subcultures with surprising objectivity without them losing their edge. He is at once an insider and an outsider, which makes for the most hilarious and terrifying cultural commentaries.
Also, he might be the publishing world's certified badboy, but to me he's an authentic, non-judgemental person with a strong moral core, although you might miss that since he doesn't feel the need to prance around on a moral high horse. Love this man

He has special ways to talk which is interesting.. he sounds like he thinks things through and gives a opinion in polite manner smart way..
Always like listening to Bret. He's an interesting chap and I always think his tongue is in his cheek a lot
