I cannot express how much I recommend that you watch the entire show again after you finish it. Every single episode is so much more significant after you know everything from the end.
I don't think people watching with subtitles can understand, but Edel speaks Japanese like an elderly person. Although she dresses like a cute teenage girl, she speaks like a grandmother, which is part of her charm.
It’s perfectly fine, and a show they should consider watching after Run with the Wind, Yuri on Ice, Tsurune, ACCA, Chihayafuru, and even Delicious in Dungeon.
I am so happy that hit you guys the same. When I first saw that scene with Fern’s arms coming coming in and pulling Frieren away. It is absolutely precious, and it is so perfectly Fern. That is exactly what she would do. It just made me happy.
Apothecary Diaries is on par with Frieren and also March Comes In Like A Lion or 3-gatsu no Lion is really really good. I highly recommend :) much love
finally someone say it, the show is good the combination between yokai and slice of life, but i am not sure they will like it, bcs the show i don't think for someone who are not into yokai.
I recommend either Natsume's book of friends or Mushishi. Fun tranquil shows. Also empathy can be described as your pain in my heart. Sympathy you feel for someone, empathy you start to feel what they feel.
More on Ubel and her psychology (spoiler-free): (1) Episode 18: Kraft's thing is basically that she overdid it. He decides against lecturing her probably because there isn't much point to it. However, self-defense and excessive-force are NOT the same. The former is justifiable, but the latter isn't. Had Ubel been less messed up as a person, she wouldn't have cut the bandits up into pieces (even if they were the ones that most likely attacked her first). (2) Episode 20: Wirbel doesn't kill her because he's not a cold-blooded killer and doesn't go out of his way to kill people. However, he is very experienced and a good judge of a character as far as we can tell. He characterizes Ubel as a pervert who enjoys killing and Ubel pretty much silently agrees with him. (3) Episode 24: Ubel is downright manipulative with Land in the dungeon when facing against her own clone. This is toxic behavior at the very least. (4) Revealed in Episode 26.
I think Odd Taxi would be a nice change for you guys. Its.a short and fully finished, sorta if you know, 13 episode anime. Good writing, funny dialogue and humor. It also has very little anime-isms. A lot of the other shows people are recommending below are only available with 1 season which aired within the past year (Dungeon Meshi and Apothecary). I think some other people will agree as well.
For a very emotional positive ride I’ll suggest “The dangers in my heart”, is a sweet story between 2 young people that make you feel like you are part of it. If you like something funny you can watch the story of “Uncle from another world” is like watching the opposite of Frieren, with this show what you want (opposite to frieren) is him slowdown and smell the roses but the protagonist is stubborn and keeps pushing forward, I think you will enjoy the comedy Thank you for reading me, hope both of you enjoy your day 😃
A guy already mentioned it but anyway...The apothecary diaries could be a good replacement for when Frieren concludes, the plot has an almost perfect balance between comic and serious moments in addition to exploring various topics that I would love to see these girls discuss. Apart from having one of the best female protagonists I have ever seen in an anime Comment with spoiler ahead... I would like to see how they react to Jinshi's approaches to Mao Mao (even when they discover his true age), they would probably have the same face that Mao Mao has in those scenes
you could look up some fan content. There are a few amazing Amv's, Pey does alot of fun philosophy and analysis. Fun fact. A Taiwanese man helped stopped a stabbing getting wounded in his face and when interviewed about why he stepped up he responded with "its what himmel the hero would dol"
You should absolutely rewatch the whole show, you'll be stunned by all the hidden clues, foreshadowing and easter-eggs hidden in early episodes you missed because you didn't know what will happen
I know it has been said that you won't watch it, but there is always One Piece. Just saying... it's an unending tale of joy. For every cry in One Piece, you'd be laughing five times more.
Rewatching the first 4 episodes would be great. If a month seems to much, a 2 vid release (for eps 1-2 & 3-4) could also be good. Even just Ep 1-2 is enough now that I think about it, because it really sets the stage for the story and provides the biggest chunk of recontextualized scenes in the future.
I had the similar problem as what you have, guys. But as people said, Apothecary Diaries or Dungeon Meshi is a good subtitue after watching Frieren. Also I recommend "My Happy Marriage".

Haven’t heard about that anime but for your description it makes me think about this anime I watche recently (some years ago) is called “Araburu Kisetsu no Otome-domo yo” if you can watch the first episode is really good

Good that it's just Cowboy Bebop. When you watch Apothecary Diaries later (or Bochi the rock, or Dungeon Meshi, the three shows that actually fit as a Frieren replacement), you won't be tainted by the "it replaced Frieren" problem.

With over 300 animes behind my back after Frieren I could not excuse anymore the animes and their silly tropes. There is just no anime out there matching the story telling consistency, mature, close to real human nuanced characterization, the directing of this show. There are tons of good animes which fell short due to using standard anime tropes and although having great heroes journeys, lack mature characters. And very few animes which are special - Monster, Vinland Saga, AoT and FMAB. But Frieren's consistency in writing and character build and development surpasses them all.

She chooses to take the risk when it's safe to do so (ie, outside of battle situations) because she doesn't lose anything of value (and because the mimic-check spell is only 99% accurate). Specifically, she loses a little time while in the mimic and then later when fixing her hair (but she doesn't care about that because she has practically infinite time), and suffers a little reputation damage (but she doesn't care about how others view her all that much). On the other hand, she may gain something (eg, maybe the shaved-ice spell shown in the flashback in S01E06). In summary, she loses nothing and may gain something so why not try them all? The secondary and trivial reason is: (2) The clone is not actually 100% same as Frieren since it is made to kill and such. And so, it's unlikely that it would forgo it's duties to the spiegel. But this is assuming that real Frieren would even fall for something like this, which she DOES NOT.
[SPOILER-FREE] What Ubel does with Wirbel and Land is NOT empathy. She may think that it is, but it's really not. It's at best sympathy and at worst pity. There are subtle, but important difference here that many are unaware of, or just ignore because they're a fan of Ubel.
