    Come to Calgary and check out our version of this LRV! I think San Francisco and Calgary are the only two places in North America to operate the S200.

    I moved to SF in 1998 just was SF Muni were deploying the awful Breda cars to replace the ageing Boeing rolling stock. I left SF for NYC in 2015 and missed the rollout of the Siemens cars. **sigh**

      @@nuyorican1985 Oh. Hope you have a good time.
      Travel Tips for you:
      1) Try to use OAK or SJC instead of SFO (less delays)
      2) The ferry to Oakland is a great experience
      3) Jack London Sq is a good place to go
      4) Use/ get a Clipper Card for cheaper BART/ Muni fares.
      5) Half of Lake Merrit is a nice place.
      6) Taking a Transbay AC Transit bus into SF from Oakland gets you amazing views over the Bay and SF from the Bay Bridge.
      7) Stonestown Galleria is a nice shopping center to stop by if you're in the area.

    They look the same? Any noticeable differences than the old ones and the S300’s?

    • @transitvideosbayarea
      @transitvideosbayarea 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The old Breda's look really different.

    • @transitvideosbayarea
      @transitvideosbayarea 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Bredas have sides that stick out, and one of the end doors are double doors, the new S200's end doors are both single doors, flat sides, have flat bench seats, and accelerate much faster.

    These cars are built at the Siemens plant in Sacramento and yet Sacramento has the most decrepit light rail cars. What a cruel joke to play on our hapless transit riders. So tantalizingly close, yet so far away.
    The SacRT cars are ancient, noisy, filthy, dimly lit, uncomfortable, not ADA compliant, and expensive. And the two lines (a third line travels a couple of miles from nowhere to nowhere) don’t really have many places you’d want to go to. They serve a limited population as most stations are located in bedroom communities. There’s little reason to use it. SacRT is counting on its riders to continue to put up with its shabby, expensive service without complaint or awareness that these state-of-the-art Siemens LRV4’s are being built right in their community.
