Eidfjord is stunning!!! My first port of my first ever Cruise 🚢 it was blue and stunning and breathtaking at 05:30am when I went on deck… I love Norway 🇳🇴 been on cruises up there in 2018 and 2022 and would certainly go back again !!!
WOW Norway is stunning and this is just the first stop! While it is fun cruising the Caribbean it does get repetitive. Now you are branching out and enjoying the beauty of the rest of the cruising world!
OMG I could never do any of that walk that you did in Norway when you walked to the waterfall through all the tiny little pathways the boulders and the steps. You get a five star rating for me today for doing all of that. Unbelievable and how about the people that actually marked the trail and made the pathways for people to use. They must’ve been totally young and definitely in fitness good shape. Thank you for the view. I’m glad you were able to do it because I sure could not!❤
Saw those polls on our White Fall Trail Bus excursion instead of taking the train in Alaska. They are HUGE for the same reason. Good Picture of you Jay, glad you put it in.
Dee and Jay you set a fine example for appreciating nature even when you don't know what you are talking about. 😂😂 I throughly enjoy your scenic hikes and look forward to seeing more.
I'm going to give you both a MILLION likes for making that walk to the falls, Wow. The "second" part of your day was absolutely gorgeous. The water in the lake being so clear. I'm definitely going to put Norway on my list of places to go. Dee , your photos are beautiful. Thank you for sharing ❤❤
Thank you for this particular video - we were to go to Eidfjord on a HAL cruise some years ago but for some reason we were unable to go there (I forget what). After seeing the bridge on your video, I remember now that it was because we were unable to go under it.
Your photography is second to none, whether its taking us on a bush walk, snorkeling or just showing us spectacular waterfalls/scenery etc. WE feel as though we are there with you. Would love to do that trip but Australia is so far away, We look forward to your videos each day and watch them each night with a pre dinner drink. Can not wait to see the rest of this fantastic adventure. Rock on.
I think I've asked this a while back but it might be time for an updated answer. Which line has your favorite French Onion Soup in the MDR or Specialty Restaurant?
A) I could never - thanks for being mountain goats so the rest of us don't have too. B) I showed my sister and she wants to know about your hanging hooks. I didn't see you "install" them in the first video. Sorry if you have already mentioned them elsewhere.
The struggle was worth it, ha ha. Yes, our hooks are magnetic and we’ve had them forever so we don’t really ever mention them anymore. They’re in our Amazon shop!! :D www.parodeejay.com/amazon
Tabbouleh isn't supposed to look like that....its supposed to look much greener because it has mint and parsley as well as tomatoes and bulgur wheat just so you know
It was cold and rainy the day we went to the dam. The Walkway was underwater in certain areas And I tried to go around a huge puddle.... I almost almost fell down The big hill on the left. If it hadn't been from me grabbing a Point if it hadn't been for me grabbing a little bush Down I would have gone and I never could have gotten back up by myself Talk about a wet butt.
My Norwegian Fjord cruise will always be my favorite cruise. It is so beautiful! I found it better than Alaska!
We’re curious to see over the next couple of weeks when we sail Norway proper. This first peek was awesome though!! :D

First ever port? Wow! What a good choice!! :D
Beautiful. I saw many tunnels and waterfalls when I took the train from Bergen to Oslo.
Ooooh, that sounds like a fun ride!! :D
I think that hike would have fully killed me so I really appreciate you two doing the literal legwork and taking us along.
Me too.
Surprisingly, getting down was harder than getting back up, ha ha… whew!! :P
WOW Norway is stunning and this is just the first stop! While it is fun cruising the Caribbean it does get repetitive. Now you are branching out and enjoying the beauty of the rest of the cruising world!
This was the only Norway on the first segment, but we’ve got a lot more coming up on the back half. We’re excited!! :D

Woohoo, thanks so much! Getting down was definitely the struggle and we’re glad it was relatively dry that day. Whew!! :D
I can’t get over how beautiful everything looks! Incredible!❤
We were pretty mind-boggled by our first taste of Norway! Can’t wait for the upcoming second portion of this cruise to get some more!! :D
WOW. This better than Alaska ! Great video. Putting this place on my bucket list.
They’re similar but still different enough to make both worth a visit, ha ha… definitely some gorgeous scenery on this whole itinerary!! :D
Wow! Your video did justice to the beautiful lake! Enjoyed some very nice pictures by Dee!
Thankee thankee!! :D
This was absolutely beautiful. All those boulders and rock would have done me in.
Definitely a struggle, especially on the way down. We were glad it wasn’t raining that day!!
Thank you Jay and Dee for risking life and limb for our entertainment! 😂❤
Anytime! It’s our pleasure, ha ha… or struggle!! :P
Thank you! We've got this booked for 2026. I'm even more committed to this tour now!!!
Definitely an awesome day! Hope you have fun planning your adventures!! :D
Breathtaking waterfall 😊
Totally worth the struggle down, ha ha!! :P
What a beautiful waterfall. Thanks for making the trek down those rocks and stairs! I'd probably sprain and ankle or blow up my knee if I tried that.
The struggle is real, ha ha. Worth it though!! :P
Saw those polls on our White Fall Trail Bus excursion instead of taking the train in Alaska. They are HUGE for the same reason. Good Picture of you Jay, glad you put it in.
Yesssss, we saw the giant ones up in the Yukon. Yikes!!
Dee and Jay you set a fine example for appreciating nature even when you don't know what you are talking about. 😂😂 I throughly enjoy your scenic hikes and look forward to seeing more.
If we don’t know something, we’ll gladly make it up!! :P
Amazing nature walk. I commend your bravery.
We definitely try to get our steps in, ha ha. Gotta do it for the views!! :P
oh thank you, I'm going to Norway in November 2024 on Havila Voyages.
Awesome! Hope you have an amazing time!! :D
I about 10:00 into it and the suspense if Jay made it or not is driving me up the wall!
The world may never know! Oh wait, I forgot we did finish the video!! :P ~Jay
@@parodeejay I guess I will just have to take your word for it! There must be some way for me to check for myself!
Jay you were funny this morning. You and Dee ROCK ON!!!
Thankee thankee!! :P
Absolutely beautiful scenery. I want to go.
We hadn’t even really looked outside that morning, so we were amazed at the views when we stepped outside!! :D
I'm just drinking my morning coffee and haven't had breakfast, but that salmon and cod look so good!
Beautiful...
Thank you for taking us along on your excursions. We hope you had a good time.❤
We did indeed! What a gorgeous day!! :D

That was quite the struggle down, and fortunately the up was a bit easier, ha ha. Whew!! :P
Beautiful waterfall! I loved Norway… 🇳🇴

Oh wow, too tall for the bridge maybe? That’s unfortunate! They had to lower some sort of light on an aft mast for us to barely squeeze under. Wow!!
Thanks so much! Glad to have you along for our craziness!! :P
The snow poles are also up by Lake Tahoe in California in the winter.
We’ve seen some up in the Yukon as well. Crazy how high the snow can get!! :O
It looks amazing.
The scenery up in these parts is pretty unique, that’s for sure!! :D
Beautiful.
The Joker openly doing business in Norway.
That's how he eludes Batman!!
The secret is out!! :O
😳 i’on know Dee and Jsy!?!? Those stairs are scary and I am not afraid of heights.. 😂😂😂
And the stairs were the easiest part. Yow!! :P
I noticed your new boots, I said to my husband "Dee has new hiking boots"
Sorry they hurt your feet, this has happened to me before also😩
They’re getting better now, fortunately! Definitely recommend short walking days to break them in, ha ha!! :D
I want you to know I clicked like as soon as you told me to! 😂
Me too!
Whew, it was worth all the struggle then, ha ha!! :P
“Alaska on steroids” is accurate. Who says Holland America cruises are for slow folks? Wow. Impressive fitness required for this excursion for sure.
The crowd on this cruise is generally much younger and more active than we’ve seen on US-based sailings. It’s been interesting to see!! :D
I think I've asked this a while back but it might be time for an updated answer. Which line has your favorite French Onion Soup in the MDR or Specialty Restaurant?
That’s a tough one still, and it varies from ship to ship. I just know that it tends to not be HAL or MSC, ha ha… :P ~Jay

Thank you so much. And compliments from my sister for the "spacing" she thought it must be a professional install.
I have never had a desire to go overseas until now. This is my bucket list cruise!
The scenery up in these parts is pretty spectacular!! :D
We use snow sticks like those in New England but they’re not that tall. Tells the plow driver where the side of the road or driveway is…..
We’ve seen them up in the Yukon, but apparently some of these are shorter and are just for fog. The taller ones, definitely snow!!
For everyone in the USA 1km is equal to 6/10 of a mile.
Yes, but how many deciliters is that in Kelvin?! :P
The dam is a little less than 3/4 of a mile one way.
The larger couscous is pearl couscous
Ah, maybe that’s the word we can never think of! Thankee!! :D
Hi great picture s but how can you be on a cruise ship for over month in a inside cabin? 🤔🤔 let us know about that thanks pam
We love a good dark interior. You get the best naps!! :P
Tabbouleh isn't supposed to look like that....its supposed to look much greener because it has mint and parsley as well as tomatoes and bulgur wheat just so you know
This has to be the SCARIEST video you have EVER made. Take me back to the flat Caribbean, PLEASE.
Naaah, we’ve had plenty of “scary” mountainous excitement in the Caribbean too, ha ha. Jamaica, Dominica, lots of winding fun!! :P
Oh nooooo! We couldn’t even imagine parts of this tour on a rainy day. Yikes!!
