I actually got the lord of the rings and hobbit books too as well from my mom for christmas. I plan to read them, but after i read all of the asoiaf books first. Halfway done with a clash of kings, though. But heres to the new year, 2025 🎉😊🎉
@@rigobartolome5963 Yay we both got these amazing books for Christmas! Good idea to wait until after asoiaf, I hope you’re enjoying the series so far 😁 Here’s to 2025!
Good call on reading Hobbit before reading LOTR. And yes, all 3 LOTR books are about the size of 1 ASOIAF book 😅 Looking forward to your thoughts on them!
Wow, that is a fantastic haul! Those Tolkien editions are very tasty, although I personally prefer LOTR broken into the three books. I can be daunted by a weighty tome. I'm actually a bit jealous of people that get to experience Tolkien for the first time. And sorry to hear about the shit side of your chrimbo, but, yes, it is amazing to recognise the efforts of health care workers, especially at Christmas. Looking forward to 2025 vids.
Yes I must admit that when I felt the size of LOTR I was a little intimidated haha, but equally I'm excited to get stuck into it and take my time reading it! Thanks for the lovely comment :)
Tolkien wrote The Lord of the Rings as one epic split into six books. The publisher is the one that decided to break it into the trilogy. That big tome is how Tolkien wanted people to read it and I’d suggest reading it all the way through. If you decide you need a break, plenty of people split it up by the trilogy. Also, definitely read The Hobbit first. Tolkien originally wrote it for his kids so it has a much different tone. Also, the movies are only loosely based on the book because there was nowhere near enough material for a trilogy so they padded the movies with a bunch of made up stuff that really doesn’t fit with the story. Hope everything is well, sorry to hear you had a bad experience around Christmas.
@@brianjkinney that's so helpful, thank you! I'll read it how Tolkien intended in one big book, after the hobbit, I can't wait. Hope you've had a good holiday season, if you celebrate!
Thats a book blanket for me 😂😂 I love it 😂

I think i would read The Hobbit first :)
I had guinea pigs that nibbled everything too 😂
@@Bookishtravels1 Yes the Hobbit will be my first 2025 read, I can’t wait! Haha you feel my pain, they’re too cute to be mad at though 😂
@@BeckyDoesBlog I know, he would just look at you and you would melt :)
Read LOTR in one… don’t just read it by parts!
Sounds like a plan!
