Any idea what mod or script they are using for the hostage animations? They look great!
Taking them hostage and escorting them would be using ACE but the mod that gives them the animation of walking is GGE: Captive Animations

I'm 2 months late, but here's what I know about those shields through a non-hugely exhaustive testing:
Until something like 20-30m away, 50cal will go through without resistance => a huge problem for you.
From then on the shields will block shots elsewhere but the glass, which IIRC will block lesser calibers than 50cal.
However, I dunno is it the game (I think it is), but the shields are bugged where it suddenly does 0 blocking. This means you absolutely shouldn't be just sitting there taking the shots from automatic weapons, especially MG's and hi-cap SMG's, for too long. You can, however, use it for the occassional blocking and covering friendlies when moving between cover, if you're not being shot by many weapons or a fast-firing weapon; semi-auto
Thank you for this information. I really want to see how it would fare otherwise but alas it's back to only speculation. At least I have more to go off of though.
The shields are best used where the enemy can't fire explosives at them. Uneven terrain helps that. The more the enemy parallels or can't aim at the ground the better.
After getting explosive units out the way, enemy gunners will be easy to defeat. One can suppress a defenseless unit without getting suppressed in return.
The shield is IPSC shaped(similar to the MRAPS shield system) with an axial turret in between the head part, and the head part's width equal to the head. It can be exo-carried like the MRAPS reaper system to have comfortable 24/7 readiness. And of course if you need to protect your feet or reduce exposure you duck to the ground. The shield's height would stop above the hips. It would be moderate weight at around 18kg(25*18*.375)in for high NIJ level III ar500 plate. Keep in mind 1/2in ar500 can stop .50bmg.
I really think this could be a thing. If people put their minds to it they could realistically add shields to modern warfare sims.
