My "babies" are ages 34, 32, and 28----and I still have the pottery things they made in grade school...the bins won't git 'em while I'm still breathing.
This is so sad, I never thought about where the lost treasures went after goodwill. We as a country are so wasteful, so glad you save what you do
Just think, this is only one store, for part of one day.
I was thinking that all the plates, bowls, glasses and mugs would make some soup kitchens and homeless shelters very happy. 🥰

I thought the china floral clock that you put back in the bins was pretty. You missed 3 little birds sitting on a twig that was partially covered and you piled stuff on top - I was yelling at the screen.
lol! yeah, I saw the little birds too---I would have taken a closer look at them.

I give you a ton of credit for having the patience to go through the bins. I couldn’t do it.
Yeah I wish you had a way to attach your camera to your chest like on the strap of your purse or something like that so you could use both hands. Also I found when I unwrap things I find the best treasures and usually they're in good shape because they've been wrapped under all the other items. I know your eye has gotten so refined that you can see a lot more than what we see but it'd be great if you unwrap some things because you might be missing some gems.
Jocelyn doesn't use a chest camera because she wants to be able to avoid filming other people and that is hard to do if you are wearing the camera
Goodwill doesn't wrap anything before getting dumped so my guess is they never even looked to see what it was! I live in Alaska and let me tell you that if we had something like this it wouldn't get wasted as much as what we see here!!

my biggest tip in the glassware at the bins is fo unwrap everything. i've found some great stuff like some uranium glass goodwill had priced at 20$ originally & a classic cobalt LE Smith moon and stars candy dish! if it's wrapped you know it hasn't been picked through & there could be some awesome finds!
Agree!! I found a beautiful EAPG pitcher in perfect condition!
at 11:27 everything in the bottom of the box was individually wrapped and she went right on past although I was yelling at her to look.

If Goodwill didn’t charge so much for things they wouldn’t have so much in the bins. The Local Goodwills charge ridiculous prices!!

I wish our goodwill did bins sales. Love the picture you got. Also found some stuff that had same pattern my son has. I love unique things. I got blessed and found a hand painted Fenton wear yesterday. I need another cabinet

Love the bins videos - a true treasure hunt (and very eco-friendly too). 70s stoneware plates are my faves.
The clear "rose bowl" with the silver overlay was actually a Viking flowerlite that was just missing the flower frog!
SO MUCH WASTE!!! Why do they let broken stuff onto the shelves and dump perfectly good items in the bins??!!?? Makes no sense to me!
The bins has both stuff that didn't sell at local Goodwill stores (often chipped or slightly damaged) and stuff that never makes it to the store shelves. The stuff you see that is in good shape and isn't priced usually never made it to a store shelf. This happens because they don't have enough workers in the stores to get all the items priced. If they can't get it priced, boxes of donations will be sent straight to the outlet/bins. Otherwise the stores would become warehouses.

The flower painting reminds me of bark fabric, and 50's tropical style drapes. The painting is cool.

I went to these bins when I came to Mechanicsburg earlier this month. I had to buy more carryon luggage to bring all the stuff from Eric, Bill, Conner at the Williams Grove Flea back to CA. And I was successful. Got a couple of plates marked US AIR that I hope to sell to a collector of former airlines wares as well and a MCM set of linen napkins/placemats still in the box!!! 😳 I can imagine they were a wedding gift from 60+ years ago that were never used. Or NOS.
We don't have a bins close to us, but hope to drive and check one out soon 😁 thanks for taking us along.

I still have my sons clay art work things he made me! I can’t get rid of them! He is 26 and says “Mom! Just get rid of them!” And I can’t!
This is so sad. I would be taking everything that wasn't completely crushed and give it away or re-donate. Then I would be in divorce court.

I had one traumatic "experience" by visiting a Bin Goodwill----once. It was so horrifying (the humans there) I can never go back. At first, I couldn't even watch Jocelyn's videos of the bins when they first started going!!
I also wish that Goodwill would stop putting their price sticker directly over the marking on the bottom of items

Heartside Plates were from the 80’s and you could by them weekly at Jewel. Those were my first plate set when I was married.
Oh I’d be in your outlet bins for hours, sorting through all the glassware, lifting all the broken junk out to see if there was treasure in the bottom! And I’m with you on the Avon, can’t do it. Won’t do it. Thanks for going back to the bins, I love the craziness of it all!

At my bins, there are only 2-3 boxes of glass, and as soon as I walk in, I can hear glass breaking every time. I just cannot bring myself to look in those few boxes, because my heart breaks when I hear glass break. You were very gentle. Gives me hope in humanity.
Why oh why can't the breakables be put on shelves and the rest put in the bins????
I just missed you! That big heavy decorative pot was still there on Friday, and so was that crackle glass candle holder from Home Goods.

When the packaging tape is adhered to items, heat the tape with a hairdryer on low and it will move the adhesive away from it. I agree with many of your other subscribers, such a shame that a lot of these items will go to waste. If I had been there I would have saved the currier and Ives dishes as I know someone who needs some replacement pieces.
I was so excited to learn that we have an outlet bins store in a nearby town, only to learn that it has about 6 bins and they're only clothes. Lol I did get a purse for $6 that sells for $65 on ebay though! 😆

I rarely find much at the bins. My daughter did find a $100 camera case that she can use. Usually I find some useful things for me….seeing notions, a baking dish, toys for the grandkids (I wash first!). Rarely do I find much for resale.
I never knew those pods from ALIEN came with a free music box!!! 😜
How I wish there were bins near my town! There so many things that could be rescued and repurposed.

Goodwill should get those huge industrial rolls of cling wrap and use that instead of tape. I assume anything that is broken will be the land fill items.

My bins never have that much hard goods. I don’t know why because the goodwill are full of it… there was a little house that I wanted you to pick up :) not sure if it was something but o feel like you go to fast zooooommmm

Hi! I would've scooped up all that Currier & Ives blue and white dishware. My family had those when I was growing up. I still have that set, plus now I keep adding pieces.

I wonder if when they take these bins out the back do they take out the broken items and smashed glass and keep anything thats in good( ie non broken condition ) and then put new stuff in with it before wheeling the bin back out

The blue lined glass you picked up that reminded you of your beer mug and hand blown. They are made mostly in Tonalá Jalisco.
You have to dig all the way through each box. Your missing so many things.

The Goodwill bins in your area have better stuff than they have on the shelves here. I have never been to the bins here, I can't imagine there being anything good.
I thought for sure you would see the ginger beer ceramic bottle! It looks overwhelming.
The glasses in the box that had all the tape to keep the glasses in the box may not be the Goodwill fault could have been perhaps the person who donated!
First and last time at the bins, few matching bins of shoes, shouting at people to stand behind the yellow line, or get your carts, people are waiting for carts
That tape goodwill uses ruins a lot of things . Makes me so mad!

I loved the lefton bird planter...I would have saved him and put him in my garden.
