The actor who is playing Simon is how I imagined Nate looking like (minus the clothes), and the actor who is playing Nate is how I imagined Cooper looking like (with shorter hair). Addy is the only character who looks like how the book describes her.

yeah totally or they could set the show in a college so it would make more sense with the actors ages
Because its a such a hassle working with under 18s. since they need time for school and tutors, then they arent allowed to work very many hours ect ect. Its way easier working with over 18s.

I feel like Simon might narrate the show or at least part of the show, like he does in the beginning of the trailer because in the book he says, "I'm the omniscient narrator"

An old coworker of my mom's wrote the book... I remember talking to her (the writer - McManus) one day and her saying how cool it would be if they made a movie or tv show about One Of Us Is Lying. She seemed so excited about it. I'm very happy to see that dream finally become a reality :) I'll be watching!

It annoys me that some people have decided to not watch it just because of the cast; there is a reason they were cast that way and the reason is that they are amazing. The characters are more than just their looks, and their personalities is what makes them so iconic. This is my favourite book and has been turned into one of my favourite series and it the actors brought to life in a way I could have never imagined.

True! At first, I was a bit sad the characters did not look like their descriptions, but the chemistry the cast has makes up for it!! I actually really enjoyed this series.

i hate to say this but nate looks like a wussy and is not at all giving the whole 'bad boy' vibe and i do not like it. he's blond, he doesn't even have a leather jacket and his hair is long. his character is nothing like the book describes him.

TBH I'm nervous bc we all know how book adaptations can go. Fingers crossed!
I mean, listen, trailers are often kinda deceiving and don't do the material justice, so I am kind of hoping the acting will be better in the episodes. Also this definitely isn't really the casting I would have chosen (I have nothing against deviating from the source material but Nate's actor looks a lot better suited for Cooper) but at least Addy looks the part (wonder if they'll have her buzz off her hair in the show too (my money is on no). I'm genuinely not trying to be that person, it's mainly that I pictured everyone apart from maybe Addy looking way different. Bronwynn is, I guess, kinda close but she looks way too old (not sure how old the actress is). Also apparently she will already have a boyfriend on the show? I wonder what else they'll change.

Who wants the same ending of the book?? I mean, who read already knows the answer. It would be more interesting for readers if the show takes a different direction, so it could be its own thing, and anyone who watch the series and read the book after that would get the chance to be surprised again.

I remember reading this book back when I was a sophomore. This became my favorite of all time! Now that I’m a senior and about to graduate high school, this is something new to me; a show based on a book that I read!

@@zeenali2243 yah I see that. Whenever I go into an adaptation I say to myself this is just the base idea not an exact replica. It helps a lot though even I get my expectations too high sometimes. Most recently with the I know what you did last summer reboot. Really disappointed in it

The book is great! It’s a bit different in the show but the differences aren’t that earth shattering. I’ve only watched two episodes so far though.

I loved the book and i still do. I was so excited to hear that they were making a series on it but i was pretty disappointed by how different they looked compared to how the books described them.
