Just in case you were wondering, Bocchi's guitar (technically her father's) is a 1957 Gibson Les Paul Custom Reissue, which actually IS quite a valuable instrument for someone of Bocchi's age to have access to
not just for Bocchi's age. it's a ridiculously expensive guitar for *anyone* - around $5,000 new, with very little if any depreciation. for comparison, most professional high-end guitars are around $1000-2000, and even that is pretty expensive considering the kind of quality you can find in the $500-1000 midrange.
@@gamergod9182 yeah iirc the guitarist for Nightwish rushed to a store and bought an ESP for under $1k because his equipment was lost in transit, and it was his favorite professional guitar for like 13 years after that
2:50 Darwin Ga Kita! (Darwin is Here! or Darwin's Amazing Animals) is probably the longest running Animal TV program on Japan's national NHK channel. I watch it every week lol.
The black tape part is actually a reference to Takanori Nishikawa, aka T.M. Revolution (known for singing some of the OPs for Gundam SEED and it's sequels) also fun fact: for the Bocchi switching art styles part, it was said that the animator was just told to cobble something randomly chaotic together, and that was the result also also: the part during 14:50 contrasts a shot in episode 1, where Bocchi gazes upon the night sky on her own, while the shot featured in this episode shows her gazing upon the sky along with her bandmates
I’ve only ever seen maid cafes online, and even watching the maids perform on a screen was emotionally exhausting, so I’m amazed Bocchi wasn’t simply erased from existence across her entire timeline.
It's a bit of a double entendre, while she does rock it's also because she is "the rock" of the band. Every time it seemed the band was not gonna make it or fail it's actually Bocchi that is the one that pulls them through it, from the beginning of filling in for Kita who had run off to ripping that solo that pushed them through their first gig. That's why Nijika calls her Bocchi the Rock, because Bocchi is the one they can depend on to keep them going.
8:17 I think the style of the characters in this scene is reminiscent of the Pawapuro series of baseball video games, which have been around for 30+ years now. I can't believe I didn't notice this in my watch until just now; it's one of my favorite video game series of all time. Thanks for pointing it out!
We have an awesome rock band and we have maids from a maid café. So, why not combining this together and have one of the best rock bands of today, called BAND-MAID! Yes, it's a real band and I promise, they will blow your socks off! 🤘🏻🙂
Once you're done with the season, I highly suggest/beg of you to listen to all the Kessoku Band music that's been released! Also the Bocchi the Radio videos, where the voice actresses talk about the show and other stuff (Yoppi, Bocchi's VA, actually learned how to play guitar!)
they didn't have to do those but still fun to watch... but the thing is that kinda shows what's going on inside Bocchi's mind... I can relate, sometimes even just meeting people or in a situation, I can even imagine in my mind to the worst scenario like being in court room being judged by people, or randomly in a field of flower, sometimes even in an unknown planet... my imagination can go wild and in a way the show portrays them well😅

Although to be fair to Cara, Bocchi WAS doing her level best to become a literal rock under a bush to hide at the start of the episode.

the bocchi fans gets more screen time later in the story and they are really funny
The devious face Nijika had asking for the deliciousness spell. Bocchi seeing her supporters at the end was so sweet,

I love that Seika (Nijika's sister) casually raging demoned Kikuri for being a loud drunk
Japanese high school culture festivals are generally open to the public.
And today was the last we saw him alive. Replaced by an VTuber IA from now.

These days, when I see a Japanese girl in a maid outfit, I automatically think about Band Maid 😂😂😂
