Brother, we are just enjoying see you live out your dream. It's insane. It was your first DGPT event....literally the top level of play anyone can reach. You just played in one....give yourself some credit!!! You're networking, playing disc golf for a living, and meeting people this time last year you wouldn't think you'd ever meet. Keep it up.

Care a little less of what people think. Be more in the moment (shot by shot) and your audience will either hate you or like you regardless of how you do. I didn't like you at first because you were all over the place but your hard work made me do a 180. I'm guessing that's why your channel has done so well. Just keep up the hard work good and things will come.

@@brianc1651 I agree as most have been playing since age 9--12 maybe even younger and here is Anthony Bondanza and playing as nearly a 1000 rated player and after 2 years prior of playing Disc Golf going to play on the Disc Golf Pro Tour. Only player I can think of like him is from Aberdeen South Dakota Ezera Aderhold where he has had some of shortest time from learning disc golf to being on Pro Tour, his only flaw is Esera is bit cocky due to being 21 at oldest.

Hah I've gotten a lot better over the last year and one thing I noticed last year is what when I started hot or was playing well I would almost struggle harder than if I started bad or flat. I was doing the same thing you are talking about where my mindset switched to try and "protect the good round I am having". "Playing safe sometimes is playing insecurely" is an excellent way to put it. Props to your wife for caddying and also offering up wisdom like that. If you're playing your best when you're playing confident and loose, you gotta keep that mindset for the whole round no matter what is happening. Great vid, it's been a treat following your journey.

Soo Proud of you Bodanza! I believe you will not only make the cuts, start cashing, but also you will start finishing top 10 and eventually win a tour event! There are a few reasons why I believe that. One of them is because of your courage to be vulnerable and relatably, and beautifully document your journey before you are ready. The fact that you are Humble and never stop learning, connecting, and developing from and with other players is huge. And Possibly the main reason why I believe in you is the honest self reflection, assessment, and internal work you are doing mentally, and working through your mindset, thoughts, and emotions to make yourself more and more of a man! That Man, is going places. Keep it up, I'm not alone when I say I am not only rooting for you but also, You are living out so many of our dreams with your bravery, work, mindset, commitment, skills, etc. Thank you for doing this. We'll see you around.

1st huge shout out for putting yourself in the position to even be able to play a elite plus tournament, 2nd finishing even is awesome for 1st legit tournament, 3rd the experience of feeling and dealing with the emotions of competition is priceless. My best advice that I could offer with emotions during competition is don't try to ignore or block them but recognize them for what they are and use those feelings un your favor whether that is discing up or down playing safe or aggressive whatever the moment is telling you. Be in the moment and present and have a good time

Good advice but I imagine it's hard to be there as a player and also be there as a fan at the same time. Being right behind the FPO lead card watching the disc golf goddess that Kirsten shred and take control of tournament right before your eyes has to be a distraction to you playing your own game as good as you are capable. But IMHO so worth it. Thanks for taking along the ride. And good luck with the qualifier.

Here's what I think: keep striving to make content like this. Push yourself to keep making these events a playing with these players. NO ONE ELSE ON TH-cam IS DOING THIS! It's what's making you unique in the disc golf scene. Sure, guys like Simon and Eagle have channels too, but your content is much deeper than that and shows us as an audience what the pro tour is like from many more angles than we have seen before.
This is the best type of content you put out in my opinion. Yeah sure, I don't mind the disc reviews and casual rounds, but I can also go to other channels for those things like Foundation, etc. But let's be honest, you're the only real creator-first player that has a shot at making these events lol.
So please, keep doing this! It'll take time, but we are here to support and I am sooooo excited to see how you grow and change this year. And here's to hoping a tour card comes soon :)

Two things. 1) Everyone watching is proud of you just for getting there. You played your first mpo tourney last year ffs. I know people that have played mpo for years that have never tried to get on tour.
    2) you're not the best player there and I know you know that. If you want to finish well you have to play hot. Playing hot is going to require aggressive play from you. Of course don't be dumb about it but if you have 50+% chance to birdie a hole you should go for it. Worst case scenario, you get the expected result.
Just my 2c, but everyone is stoked to see you at these big events and showing/documenting your growth in a public way like this. Like you said, there's no substitute for experience so get your reps in and enjoy yourself. You're making memories for a lifetime right now.

Imagine the pressure that someone like Simon has. Because you are learning people don’t have as high of expectations for you yet. A big part of the game is mental.

Dude great job brother you can only go up from here 💪 play to your strengths, don’t play the “safe” shot, instead think about playing to YOUR “comfortable” shot for those situations, keep grinding ur gonna kill it 🤘

You think your timing might be a little early in your form? I noticed your x-step to throw timing is very fast (without delay). Your arm starts moving forward before your plant foot is fully planted.

If I'm not mistaken, you beat Simon ( arguably, one of the best to ever play) and won the bag on your back. Keep on keeping on. I can't imagine the nerves involved in your first event. I hope you are playing in the music city open. I'm making the trip from Canada to watch it live.

Gotta dominate a region before touring but at least you’re meeting all kinds of cool people. The networking is the win on this trip

i’ve played competitively in every sport i’ve played. basketball Football Golf and Just started playing Disc Golf 4 months ago. The one thing Guys do in disc golf is over think or over complicate everything. Just go out and play your game and let things fall where they do. You’re never going to play well trying to force everything. Skill is only as good as your mental game. I’ve beat the brakes off people in disc golf that are really really good not gonna name drop but all because i knew what i could do and played that way. Tatar is great because she just plays her Game and People fall apart around her trying to do things they know they can’t. While tatar won this week she didn’t lead the field in anything and came from 6 shots back to win by 7 why because she didn’t try to compete with anyone she played the game she wanted to and it was better than everyone else’s game. A lot of guys can throw it father and better than you can but just play your game and don’t compare yourself and you’ll beat people you thought you couldn’t. Make your own game and only play against the course.
