I had that experience with the Maddox rod test. One eye saw the lines the other saw a light. I could not tell if the line went through the light- light line, light line. I also guessed until I became an adult and admitted to guessing.
I have talked to people who said they gained stereopsis without vision therapy after surgery, but I don’t know how their vision was tested so it’s hard to quantify how they are really seeing. I needed it after surgery:)
I think it’s a good idea to do vision therapy before and after surgery, just like you would for any other type of surgery. It can help solidly your results and helps develop good binocular vision.
